Making a triumphant return to the 2D plane, Bionic Commando: Rearmed emphasizes on the difficulty of the golden age of gaming while introducing modern mechanics. But gameplay isn’t the only thing it has going for it. Nearly every track from the 1987 counterpart has been redone by Simon Viklund (of PayDay fame) into dance beats reminiscent of the NES era. The transition from retro crispness to contemporary energy is smooth and impressive. All tracks except for 101 and 201 are from the PC game.
