By "Dungeon", do you mean the standard cave music (i.e. this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mZ9GFnR3hc)?) That didn’t really play during any lava levels. There are only two places in the game with lava, and the one that’s actually lava-theme has the song "Beyond The Deep Blue Sea (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvECfse9yR4)" playing. The other dungeon has the song "Exdeath’s Castle" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcpLvq06qdc) playing.

In any case, my pick for the best fire/lava level theme would have to be High-Press Energy from Mega Man ZX.
