hears Man of Steel motif and gets excited about BvS for the first time ever I don’t much care for the actual film but Man of Steel the film score is one of my all-time favorites through 20 years of listening. It’s like the ultimate, glorious culmination of the Media Ventures power anthem stuff from the 90s and the King Arthur-era dramatic ostinato harmony stuff.

…..but it’s completely different. For example there is no analogous choir in Mad Max. The only thing these two scores have in common is the percussion style and the general framework of having a ostinati as harmonic device. That’s like saying that Mulan and Return of the Jedi are literally the same because they both have similarly orchestrated love themes and use solo cello in a certain way.

I like it. It does sound a little like I’m playing God of War and gonna kick major ass (salutes) but I’m getting used to this. Well, at least if the movie is crap, the soundtrack will be interesting.
