Some of the tracks are silly and are clearly being played on a synth, harkening back to the olden days when Kawai was the go-to for every comedy anime ever made. But the sadder touches he’s picked up post Seirei no Moribito and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 are here too. It’s a pretty decent blend of old and new, blended together by Akira Uchida and his strings group, who have been Kenji Kawai mainstays well over a decade.

Not Kawai’s finest work but for someone who has missed hearing Kawai in TV anime this fills a colossal void. Thanks for posting this Leatherhead. =)
