Ark: Survival Evolved

Spawn as an adult in random location (when you start a new map; continuing character seems to keep you relatively close to previous spawns; unless you have a bed of some sorts).

Punched a tree, picked up a rock, made a pick axe which works on trees, made an axe, hit the stone, made a torch, made a small fire, made some clothes, died and died instantly again.

That’s my 2 hours of gameplay. :laugh:

At one point, I saw a Bronto or some other herbavore stuck in a boulder, so I thought it would be safe to use my spear on it.
Died. It kicked me and its tail hit me.

Took about 4 deaths to realize that I can go back for my old corpse and loot the body so I can save time remaking everything. :rolleyes:

Now I’m looking at some mods just to see what else I can do. Different food recipes look useful.
There’s a lazer fence. But I have not survived long enough or played long enough to make a simple wooden place!

Who else plays and what’s the longest you played on a "toon"/"character" ?

What mods from the Workshop do you use?
Do you play single player/offline or do you play online in random servers or servers you’ve been with a long time?

Can’t wait until I tame my first dinosaur.

The longest I played was to level 74.

Found a cave at co-ordinates 55, 70. I explored it as I thought it was interesting.
Keep in mind that I had Flak armour, the best in the game right now, not to mention a crossbow with over 200 arrows, three pikes and a crap ton of cooked prime meat.
While exploring this cave there was a chasm with water at the bottom. In order to progress inside, I had to jump in the water.
I contemplated life and whether I should or should not jump. I figured that since I had some amazing armour and weapons I’d be fine.

Jumped into the water. Got immediately attacked by 40 Megapiranas, survived unscratched. I thought "hell yeah! I can survive the stuff that’s in here!"
Continued swimming, got attacked by six Sarcos. Survived on half health.
This is when I began to regret life. Continued swimming, got attacked by more Onyc, the bats that live in that cave, almost dead at this point. My boots broke and my helmet did too.
I got killed by a horde of spiders. The end. Ragequit. Save deleted, Character deleted. Done. Life ended.
This was yesterday. I even got it recorded. Uploading to YouTube tomorrow. I’ve actually already got a video on YouTube of me attempting to explore this cave in godmode, but I turned it off due to viewer interest. The nine viewers. Nine.

The most I built was a ginormous stone Dinosaur-holding area on the mountains way up North. I was on a quest to get one of each dinosaur in there.
Shame really. All I had left was the Broodmother.

There’s been a lot of workshop mods that I have installed that have suddenly disappeared, such as the Enhanced HUD. Won’t go into details as it’s obvious.

One thing I would hate in ARK is to have my house destroyed by some good for nothing dickhead teenagers while I sleep. I only play Singleplayer unless it’s with my friends.
The music for ARK is good enough for me, although they should really add in some Ambient tracks.
My current gamerip of it is actually complete. Twelve tracks. In the entire game.

Come on, Coker! Get to work!

I guess it’s too late now, but yeah… That Bronto tail still two-hit KOs me, even at level 74.

I deleted that character and save, and have started a new Let’s-Play. Shame really.
