Seriously if you haven't checked it out yet than do yourself a favor, it's available on PSN. The best Flashback-style side-scroller to come out in years.

All songs and music by New World Revolution, and in my opinion are absolutely bad ass for an indie game of this caliber.

The music already existed. The songs were originally from New World Revolution's album "Karmakaze" (2009), then in 2010 came out Karmakaze [Remixed].

The same year Rocketbirds Revolution!, a browser flash-based game was released, which was the prototype of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken on PSN.

I've read up somewhere that the band's vocalist (Herwig Maurer) and the game's main designer are on buddy/buddy basics, but the license could still have been a requirement to buy.

I updated the original post with FLAC/Log/Cue rip from a recently purchased CD copy.

And it's a mystery why the last two tracks (from digital release) didn't make it to CD, as there should have been enough room on the disc.

The CD may have been release before the digital release and they added the two extended tracks later to that.

That's quite a possibility yes, since we don't know exactly when the CD was released (other than 2011).
