Alright, this is really starting to piss me off. Think about it: Dance Dance Revolution pads that slip around, have different arrow locations (as in you step on the right and it activates the up arrow), and arrows that just don't even work?
Or how about the GBA? With a backlight so poor, you have to play right next to the sun to actually see what you're doing.
How about the early PS2's and their inability to read half of the new games that come out for it?
We, yes we, the customers, pay good money for quality products. Quality products. But is that what we're getting in return? I should say not, for the most part.
I know game companies and developers work hard to give us what we want...but are all these flaws a sign of laziness or true, honest error? Perhaps they do this so they can make something better in order to sucker in more money (for example, the GBA SP)?
What're your opinions on games/gaming devices and how they work for you?

That is why there are people who...
Mod their DDR pads by putting them on hard wood so that they don't move or slip (like I did)
Buy a Backlight adapter and installing it on my GBA (like I did)
Chip their PS2s (like I did)
There is a way to get quality stuff from them... you just might have to slap on an extra thing or two to get the most out of your system. Course I can't say anything about the Xbox controller.... that is just dead on itself. :P

Think about it though. Sure, there are people who make their own solutions. But really, we shouldn't have to. For example:
Buy a Backlight adapter and installing it on my GBA (like I did)
Buy? Why should you've had to? Shouldn't the light've been working well on the esystem in the first place? if you ask me, this is either a dumb-ass mistake, or some cheap-ass scam for more money....
And besides, what if people don't want to take the chance to modify their goods so that they actually WORK? We shouldn't have to. And therefore, the fact alone that we have to modify our purchases so that they'll actually work is, infact:
Bullshit

Ah but to enjoy a product, you would have to put more uNF into it. Lets say you got Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec for PS2.... good game to play on the PS2 controller.... right? But it would be more fun if you got a steering wheel. Which is of course optional.
Now Modding your DDR pad.... you can live without modding it to tell you the truth but if you want to take proper care of it, you'd mod it. More uNF into the thing.
Your PS2, you can bitch and bitch and bitch about saying "ARGH! WON'T WORK" but there are solutions towards this problem... TAPE. I'm the kind of guy who can burn money so I'll take the Chip Method but TAPE can repair such a problem. You can take the PS2 for repair or even buy a new one if you REALLY want to but that is really what YOU deserve if you were to get a PS2 at such an early state. It was BOUND to have bugs in it and that is what you get for being impatient.
Now the GBA... nothing too bad about it's current lighting. If anything, it's the game's fault for being too dark. Apparently, it looks better projected on your PC monitor than on your GBA screen. Backlighting would end up being expensive and they felt (and even I felt) they didn't need it. Then the SP came out which simply solved the problem by making the battery rechargable. The disadvantage of the SP is that it's not like holding a controller at all, it just feels odd. The battery also does not last as long as regular AA batteries and the Backlight does not help THAT much.
If the world was given to you in a box, wouldn't you want to make it YOUR world?
