A lot of us probably know that SMT: NINE is regarded as pretty much an epic fail among other titles in Megami Tensei franchise.
The game was a black sheep and could definitely use some improvements in terms of gameplay.
Yes that is true, but what it did also have is a surprisingly good soundtrack. One of the very best in the series actually.

The thing is, the soundtrack was released in limited quantities as a bonus CD with Deluxe Edition of the game.
It is pretty rare and the best quality I could find on the net was 128 kbps mp3s.
I'm currently deciding weather to buy it or not from Yahoo Auctions JP.

My gamerip notes:

Step1. Extract contents of ISO with xISO tool.

That's it! This is like the easiest game to rip ever.
All music files are already in perfect quality WAV 1,536 kbps and located in Media > adpcm > bgm folder.
I wish all games were simple like that.

* File names are kept as they were in bgm folder.
* Uploaded the source files (WAV) as they are the most lossless in this case.

Great mix of quality new tracks and arrangements of classic SMT tunes.

IIRC NINE used 4-channel WAVs, so maybe you guys should grab the original files, since I'm guessing MP3 encoders will botch the 4>2ch resample.


Btw MiL�, SuperSweep announced this year they are going to release a proper SMT NINE OST (and SMT if too!), you probably want to wait for that one.
Doesn't have a release date right now but I'm guessing december or jan.

Knowing this I think I'm gonna hold off the auctions yahoo jp deal and keep an eye on the new printing.
Only one thing concerns me is that they announced it back in 2010, and we are almost in Q4 2011.
So what could be taking them so long to publish a soundtrack? I mean they are not creating a fresh re-arrange album, so all the material is original from 2002, so it really should come down to getting hold of master tapes and then releasing it on a disc.

I'm guessing SuperSweep or maybe Atlus just doesn't have the manpower, since they've been releasing a bunch of other Atlus albums too (like Last Bible and Trauma Center)
Atlus was fully absorbed by Index corp in late 2010 I believe so maybe that delayed it too.
Or maybe there is no 'master' and they're going to record the music from the game itself (surely this is the case for if...)
Perhaps Atlus albums sales haven't been so hot and they are taking their time, too?
