Mean Nanaki =\ Well, to save Shadow, when the floating place (XD) is collapsing and you run to the airship, it should ask you if you want to wait or not, simply choose to wait, and Shadow will eventually come to you! Simple, ne?

Yeah. That's right. Saving Shadow was a big secret of FFVI back in the mid '90's (the first time I heard about it was reading it on Video Game Spot in '98).

SPOILER ALERT

When you reach the end of the path after the scene with Kefka and the three Goddess statues on the Floating Continent, you'll be asked to either return to the airship or wait. Choose to wait, and just let the clock wind down. Shadow will reappear with 5 seconds left on the clock and rejoin your party, then your party will return to the airship in the nick of time!

However, once in the World of Ruin, you'll have to do some more work to get him back in your party. Once you've got the Falcon airship from Daryl's Tomb, fly to the Veldt and enter the cave. Interceptor will greet you, so follow him into the next room. Search through the cave until you find the Striker sword. This weapon is essential for getting Shadow back in the party, so whatever you do, DON'T sell it! As you progress through the cave, fight Snr Behemoth (it can easily be defeated with the 'Vanish/X-Zone' trick) and then speak with Shadow who's lying on the ground. The scene will then switch to Strago's House in Thamasa.

Leave Thamasa and fly to the Colesseum in the far north-western corner of the World Map. Enter the competition and bet the Striker Sword on the fight, then choose your best fighter (I normally use Sabin myself) and sit back and enjoy the easy battle against Shadow himself ahead. Defeating him will finally convince him to rejoin your party permemantly!

What I want to know is about the ending. Apparently some people think that Shadow dies at the end of the game. However, they say that if you're able to get all six of his supposed dream sequences, then his ending is different and he doesn't die. Anyone know anything about this?

Huh? As far as I could tell in FFVI's ending, Shadow just escaped from Kefka's Tower as it collapsed along with everyone else, so I guess those people aren't very intelligent.

However, I'll load up my FFVI save and play the ending again to check whether this is true or not, as my memory has been known to decieve me before...

Shadow stays in Kefka's tower and had inceptor leave. You can scope out the airship at the end, he's not there. He stayed to die.

what else did you want from Shadow? To go out and get an actually job to pay child support for Relm? HA!

*/*Spoiler*\*

I have read several walkthroughs for ff6, and in one of them, they say that Shadow and Relm are blood related. I have watched all of 6 shadow's dreams, and it makes sence. Relm is an orphan, and Shadow could be her father. Maybe we should call Sakaguchi and ask him instead of guessing. ^_^

Shadow is Relm's father. No guesswork needed.

I didn't bother trying to save Shadow because I wanted him dead! I thought if you can't save Aeris then you shouldn't be able to save him.
