This is an impossible request.

But I have to at least try asking. Does anyone have mp3 versions of the score from the Charlie Brown movie, "A Boy Named Charlie Brown (http://www.discogs.com/Rod-McKuen-Vince-Guaraldi-John-Scott-Trotter-Selections-From-The-Soundtrack-A-Boy-Named-Chalie-Brown/release/2828781)" by Rod McKuen?

It seems to have only been released on LP in 1970. With all the Peanuts-related soundtracks that have been released on CD over the years, I"m surprised this one never saw another release. If there's any chance I just missed it, I have to check. Is it grouped with some other collection? In any case, if anyone has a version that isn't on obsolete media, please let me know.

Hell, if you find an alternate format that's for sale, send me the link and I'll buy it (if it ships to Canada).

Note: this is not to be confused with the album "A Boy Named Charlie Brown" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. That only features 10 songs from the movie, none of which I'm looking for.

Hey there, if you are still interested I've got that soundtrack in both LP-Rip and Movie-Rip:

Rod McKuen - A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1970) (http://www.fileserve.com/file/gHjWqeg/Rod_McKuen_-_A_Boy_Named_Charlie_Brown_(1970).zip)

The LP-Rip has hissing and cracks but I think it's the LP you are talking about; as for the Movie-Rip, it's in mono and has the movie's sound effects but not the hissing and cracks the LP-Rip has.

Here's something you're bound to enjoy; two complete albums from the beloved movie
.
- First is the original Columbia Records OS3500 "selections from the sountrack A Boy Named Charlie Brown", featuring narration of the story by the original TV "Charlie Brown" Peter Robbins, ripped from the original vinyl.

- Second is the extended soundtrack containing every musical track from the movie (in stereo), including songs by Rod McKuen, John Scott Trotter and Vince Guaraldi. Songs readily available from my personal Vince Guaraldi collection have replaced the movie rip versions.

I also have a few that I've been creating from DVDRips and Vince Guaraldi Albums:

1. Charlie Brown's All-Stars [Complete] (1966)
2. He's Your Dog Charlie Brown [not complete Expanded Score] (1968) /* one track has talking */
3. It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown [Complete] (1992)
4. It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown [not complete Expanded Score] (1974) /* many tracks have talking */

P.S. I've attempted You're in Love, Charlie Brown (1967) but most tracks are unavailable.

I cant say thank you enough for these uploads. Ive put together a little collection of all the peanuts and Guaraldi albums, and this just puts it over the top. From the other one's you've listed, if its not too much of a bother, I'd love to hear what you have for Charlie Brown's All-Stars (1966), He's Your Dog Charlie Brown (1968), and It's The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974). I know I'm probably not the only one out here that would be forever grateful for your work. I'll look back here for a reply...thank you so much.

Hi,

I have a version of this album, but I can't tell which one. All the listed tracks up there match up, and it does have narration, but I can't tell if this is the mentioned stereo version or not. Essentially, I've been wondering if there's ever been a full version of Skating. Not the original one, but the one based on the movie with all the extra flourishes. The version I have is shorter than what's in the movie, and I've been wondering if the movie version exists somewhere in full length without having to just do a movie rip.

Also, Bus Wheel Blues is shorter than the movie version too, now that I think of it. It's not much of a full soundtrack, haha, but what do you want from a late 60's release, I guess?

Anyway, do I have the same soundtrack as the stereo one mentioned? If not, is there a distinct difference? And if so, could I bother anyone for a re-up one more time? It would certainly make my day as I really felt the music in this movie was fantastic (and really underrated, too).

From what you're describing, it sound like you have one of my earlier versions.
From time to time, I've made a few subtle enhancements to ABNCB, such as "07 We Lost Again" where the dialogue was removed.
"Bus Wheel Blues" now matches the movie; And yes, all tracks are Stereo.
"Skating" was adapted by Vince Guaraldi as a specialized version for the movie; the only version (so far) is from the movie soundtrack, which is included here.

Here's a new link to this wonderful soundtrack => Zippyshare.com - ABNCB (1969).rar (http://www33.zippyshare.com/v/26479201/file.html)

In retrospect, I spoke to hastily when I said the track list was the exact same, I just kind of skimmed over it and some of the names looked familiar. But what I actually had was a copy of the original disc recording, so it was missing a lot of the tunes you have here, and almost everything was nararrated. However, it does have some extended cuts of a few tunes as well so I can't complain (like Skating), or I before E without the jew's harp.

As for what you have, I don't know how you did it, but that's a great editing job with removing most of the sounds from the the movie. I like the full versions of songs that for some reason trimmed down on the LP, even the vocal ones like Failure Face. I'm also glad to get the longer variations of Baseball Theme, it's one of my favorite Peanuts tunes of all time next to The Great Pumpkin Waltz and Skating. Bus Wheel Blues makes me feel nostalgic for reasons I can't describe, either. :)

Anyway, I feel like this makes a great companion piece to the LP, as you get some variations of certain songs here and there. By the way, the version of Skating you included was more or less the one I was talking about, I just thought there was a fuller version of it, like the movie + LP without the hockey interuption. I bet with some fancy editing a long version could be pieced together.

Thanks for the upload, spetragl (AKA the one who bares the symbol of the Three Wise Men... hey, where's Shemp?)!

If you Google 'Columbia OS3500' you'll see the original album (which I happen to have on Vinyl).
It contains selections from the Movie Soundtrack in story book format.
Designed for the kiddies, but representative of the Movie.

Man, I would have loved to get my hands on the extended cuts of Skating and Bus Wheel Blues. Both those songs seemed obviously cut short in the film.

Nope, that's another Peanuts fan who wrote that article.
The soundtrack list is essentially all of the music tracks, in order.
