Moving to General Gaming...

Personally, I don't use cheats much anymore. If at all. As a kid, I used to look for the "quick fix" for computer games, and even invested in a Game Genie for the NES. Nowadays, as I'm a little bit older, and as games themselves have involved over the years, it's a lot harder to cheat. I mostly play RPGs, so cheating here is difficult (well, bar the W-Item cheat in FF7, but I think that's more of a bug than a cheat.)

Now using strategy guides... Does that constitute cheating? Doing stuff that you've looked up? That could be an interesting grey area to discuss.

I do, some games are just fun to hack after you beat them, the first thing that comes to my mind is Final Fantasy Tactics, if you played it and found out all the cool gameshark codes for it man you can do a bunch of crazy ass shit.

As for the discussion about walkthroughsI wouldnt call it cheating because its there to help when youre stuck not something that gives you codes for infinite health or hp.

I've practically never used "cheats" for Final Fantasy games. The only one I've really used is the "W-Item trick" in Final Fantasy VII and a lot of people don't consider that a cheat. I just don't see the point, the Final Fantasy games aren't all that hard to beat anyway. Walkthroughs? Sure. Cause sometimes it's hell figuring out some of the stuff, like, oh, say, those Trials in Final Fantasy X.

Whenever a game has an option for cheats I use 'm. Not in the main story though ofcourse and always the 3rd run of the game just for some extra fun of seeing what happens when cheating.
No gameshark and such related stuff though :eye:

Cheating for extra money in sim and rts games.. yes :B I always seem to run out of it, but I can deal w/o it just as good.

Only if I have beaten the game, otherwise no.

Wow, this thread is old :o

You probably shouldn't revive old threads unless you want to upset people who care for some reason, TheGiftedOne.

You revived a seven year old thread for that?

Look at the date of the last response BEFORE posting.

I usually don't care but this is like the eighth thread that hasn't been posted in for like 2-7 years that they've revived.
