Cloud's Katana, whatever it was called... not being able to wield the Masamune was the most disappointing thing about FF7 :(

and the buster sword, i'd say the buster sword though, can't mess with the original

I don't know the name of it but the sword the old man in rocketown gives you is my favorite.

But you can't forget the Apocolypse sword with it's tripple AP growth.

Organics looked awesome, I think everyone when they first saw it, thought 'Awesome'. I also like the Ultimate Weapon as well, just so damn powerful. But who can forget the shear awesomeness of the Masamune, its just so damn awesome.

I'm going with Cloud's Buster sword all the way, who wouldn't?

I've forgotten what it's called but when you do the routine thing as a Shinra soldier for Heidigger u can win a sword which looks really amazing, it's got a big jagged edge.

Ultima weapon

Cloud's best swords? Hmmmm. I think Ultima Weapon was the best but not when it was being weilded by Cloud but by Ultimate Weapon in ff8. Otherwise the Buster Sword is cool just because it is so humongous and it has the sweetest marks on it. But Ultima Weapon looked coolest where it counts and that's in battles. By the way, has anyone noticed that ff7 battle graphics are the coolest and best ever? Seriously they rule.

I'll have to agree on that one, however the Ragnarok and the one shown in the pic where he's on the bike (I think it's the Masamune but I don't remember) are both cool too.

Okay Kids, SOme of the names are wrong so I like to clarify somethings.

1) The sword that cloud wields on the cover of the bos ix Hardedge

2)The one that you win in Junon is Called Force stealer

3) the sword that you get from the old man in Junon is called Yoshiyuki

For me, I'll stick with Masamune. Has anybody here ever checked the stats for seph before? The blade is like totally powered beyond belief. And in case you all didn't noiticed, the spell effects for seph is different from all the other spells in the game that you use. You only get to see those spell effects once so you better keep your eyes open during the flashback.

1. The title of this thread is "What is the coolest sword in ff7", notice the part that says in ff7.

2. There can be only one "coolest" sword.

Ultimate weapon definenitly but none of you have mentioned the comedic value of nail bat although technically a bat not a sword.

the organics is the best weapon the exists it is powerful lokks good and has execelent materia capabilitys so organics all the way

As for the coolest sword (if there can ever be such a thing), seeing as the Ultima Weapon does the most damage when your HP is maxed, I'll side with that one. Although it's annoying when your HP decreases and your attack power does so with it.

Sephiroth's Masamune probably is great, but you can never use it yourself.

I always liked the way the Ragnarok looks. Of course, then you have the Apocalypse for Triple Materia Growth, though it looks weird to me. Still not as bad as some others. Rune Blade, I think it was, was just odd. It looked more like a fan than a sword.

what are you talking about? the rune blade was kickass, so was just about every sword cloud owned(well,except the nail bat, so gay) especialy the buster sword, i'm gonna buy one when i get the money, to bad its not actual scale size, that would be, as the great frohan would say "So beast!":D

with the Apocalypse is that it only had like 2 or 3 matiria slots

Considering the fact that I have a buster sword I have to go with that.

I like the ultimate weapon best cos of da looks, oh yeah if u go 2 rocket twn, u can buy a fake masamune, it looks like it. But wiv the ultimate weapon, dnt use it wen u want 2 build up ur magic and stuff, cos it has no growth, hope dat helps u.

Yoshiyuki was definitely my favorite. Not to mention its awesome name.

Actually, Cloud had two katanas. The Yoshiyuki and the Murasame. The Muramasa was one of Cyan's weapons in FFVI.

Many of you may not know this, but the Masamune has a long history in squaresoft games. It first appeared in FFI, as the way one fighter could singlehandedly beat the last boss. It later showed up in FFIV as one of Edge's weapons. It then appeared in Chrono Trigger as a broadsword in stead of a katana, which frog was able to use to split a cliff. Of course, you all know Sephiroth used it in FFVII. It's latest appearence was in FFVIII as one of Gilgamesh's swords.

although the coolest sword has to be the one Cloud uses ( and finds i think ) whiile on the ascent up to North Crater ( well it was cold up there)
