Hmmm. . .I don't know for sure, but I'd hafta say around 60-70 hours. I had everyone learn every spell and had all the characters that I was taking to fight Kefka get to level 75 before I went to his tower. I got all the magicite, beat all the dragons, got everyone including the secret characters. I did pretty much everything, so it took me a while.

Sadly, I've only beaten it once, and that was many years ago, back when I only had it on Super Nintendo. Back when it was FF3! Maybe I'll beat it again someday.

I beat it in about 25 hrs not getting every spell or every character. I can't remember what my levels were at since I beat the game about 4 years ago on my friends copy.

lol, it took me about the same time to finish FF6 as it did FF7 which i find odd, but whatever. Great game.

o_o... FF6.... *shudder*.... yea, well.... after many freak accidents, I had only gotten through half way in that game about 3 times, never seeing the ending, and finally many months later, I restarted and played and managed to make it to the end and whatnot, but it was just too much repetition without having seen the ending to the point where it almost didn't seem worth it.

Hours o_o... Many.... Many... Many hours till I could say I'd played it all the way through.....guh....

my average time is 20 - 50 hours...depending on what I do.

I say about 35 hours to get to the last boss with good enough levels to beat him should be enough time.

Around 40 hours when I finished it, now I have 10 hours extra just to level up and find all the get all the magic stuff etc. :)

hmmm.... with everything, I'd say about 40 hours, not more
for the person who said FF6 and FF7 took him the same time, probably without getting everything in FF7, cuz with EVERY little thing made in the game, every materia mastered 3 times, and every lvl 99 (or 100, dunno cuz in some FF its 99, others 100), it took me over 90 hours

Well, I'm replaying this game on the playstation and I'm 29 hours into the game and near the end of Kefka's tower. I have every magic spell in the game (except for ultima, I don't have the patience to deal with the cursed shield). The only characters I'm missing are mog, umaro, and gogo (which aren't a huge loss). I haven't gotten all of gau's rages or strago's lore (probably would add another ten hours if I did all that). Now if only I could figure out a way to beat the goddess statue, ribbons don't work, jewel rings don't work, remedys don't work, revivifys don't work, the only thing I have left to try is the safety bit.

alright, you missed 3 chars, no big deal, but mog, cmon MOG!!!! first, hes cute
second, he kicks MAJOR ASSES : pearl lance, dragon horn & dragon boots, and you've the 2nd best melee char in the game (after Locke, with off(sp)ring and genji gloves, with illumina & athma wpn)
and to beat the golden statues, its not hard, use the old e-z trick that works for everything x-cept kefka, vanish the monster, then doom it, voila!!!!!

Well, I wanted to beat the game without using the vanish + x-zone trick, and I managed to do it. The goddess statue shouldn't have been hard, none of my characters ever got below 50% health, it's just that one ability which puts a 20 second countdown on everyone then turns them into zombies at the exact same time and for some reason ribbons don't work to counter this. Anyway every boss after that statue was far too easy with Terra using x-magic combined with quick, Kefka died in two rounds.

And I really don't feel bad about not getting mog, his dances never worked for me, the only bad thing about not getting mog is that I couldn't get Umaro and Umaro is entertaining to watch.

Around 60 before going to the World of Ruin. It's silly, but I was waiting 4-8 weeks for the strategy guide to arrive in the mail and I didn't want to miss anything before exploring the floating continent. I'm at 86 some odd hours now. And that was years ago.

if u level up the characters to around level 50, then around 50 hours, if u skip that and try the boss you will be around level 30, and 25 hours or so.

On average, about 40-50 hours. It depends on how much I want to level everyone up.

I think the longest game I have played was 70-something...I was trying out a few of the rumors to see if they were true--most weren't, but it was still fun to try :)
