Just a reminder to those of you who didn't know, these are all re-issues that were just released (first set in December 2010 and second set in March 2011) so if you want these for your collection you should grab the CD while you can.

To think the cruel, cynical, and oft thought amusing coin phrase "More Korn than Gold" lasted well into the 80s... then ears began to change. That is the state of the arts. When people and shabby critics die off, a whole new and unsullied generation is free to explore and enjoy without an ankle chain of idiocy.
PS.
Rent Elizabeth & Essex. Watch for the SLAP scene between the two stars. The look of utter hatred on Flynn's face is NOT acting. He & Davis hated each others guts during the film and she really WHACKED him unexpectedly. The scene is quickly cut after the slap but one can only imagine the obscenities tossed at Davis as Flynn lunged at her throat.
Years later Davis had to admit he was not only perfect for the part but "absolutely beautiful."

Thank you tri2061990 for updating the link to this classic Korngold album. I still have my original LP which I purchased in 1975. I have always thought that Gerhardt was the greatest interpreter of Korngold scores.
