Thanks for this. I have multiple editions of this already,..BUT....one can never have TOO many versions of Holst's planetary audio delights. Cheers!

Not exactly my favorite recording of The Planets, like the versions conducted by James Levine and Adrian Boult, but thanks for posting the Williams version babydoll.

Ah, time to start a thread who did the best recording of The Planets! I'd say Karajan wipes the floor with most of the other conductors! ;)
Maybe they should ask William Stromberg for a try? And why am I always thinking of James Bond-supervillains when his name comes up... Insane effort to dominate the world of scores? ;)
EDIT: Finally listened to this version. Karajan's version IS the better one. Sorry, John.

My own favourite (so far) is Andr Previn's with the LSO from the early 70s.
But I'd love to hear this one. A re-up would be very much appreciated.

Yes, also reup please, but...
times in the tracklist look strange. The Mars cue should be longer.
And there are synthesizers in it??

I cannot access the internet via the home computer anymore. This means I cannot upload anything. It also means no downloading either..:( This is looking to be a semi-permanent situation. At least that is the outlook as of now. I can pop in via library etc, but only for social interaction.

Oh, that's a bummer for you, Amanda. What a drag! :-(

Can you please reup to Mega.co.nz?
the old mega server is dead!

I cannot. I have no home internet access, only library and such. As a result, I cannot upload anything. Sadly, I can also not download anything.. This may end up being a semi-permanent thing as I do not expect my financial crunch to change in the next few years. So my presence here is likely to be purely social for now on. Unless a huge change happens.

I shall shower you with rep points if you can provide a lossless rip as well. ;-)
In any case, thanks for the lossy rip.
