Its easy enough to convert them to MP3s in whatever bitrate you wish. Some people wants VBR, some want Insane. Just grab dbPowerAmp Music Converter or use FLACs own free frontend converter. Its easier to give you the masters and then let you convert to whatever format you wish.

so while this is downloading I must ask (since I am out of the loop on this), this isn't a fan edit, but actual unedited score? Both soundtrack releases were heavily edited into suites, so it'd be interesting to hear the music-as-written, if that's what this actually is.
I'm no Zimmer fan (far from it), but I did enjoy this score a hell of a lot more than I thought I ever could.
Thank you.

Has no one else bothered to look at the track listings and TIMES for the supposed 3 cd release?! THIS IS THE SAME RELEASE, just that 'LOGO' is part of the first track, the running times mostly are the same or add up to be about the same when some of them have been merged into one track. They are also named differently.
The tracks from cd 3 from this site (
http://www.hans-zimmer.com/fr/newsite.php?rub=detail&id=1005):
1. The Joker Suite (9:31)
2. Harvey Dent Suite (6:17)
3. The Dark Knight Suite (16:15)
are the same as:
29 - Harvey Two-Face (6:17)
30 - Suite I (16:14)
31 - Suite II (9:30)
They've just been named differently and are in a different order. I havent gone through the whole thing and compared the times, but im better it will all add up.
Seems like when editing the tracks, because a lot of them are continous through to the next track, they have ripped them as one track. For example -
21 The Ferries (4:35)
22 Always A Catch (2:43)
23 Storming Pruitt Building (3:52)
have been merged partly into one track on the released version as:
24 The Ferries/Gordon's Assault (9:52)

Nah, it isn't that its not real. They are all just hot for the supposedly leaked recording sessions, and this isn't that. So they are all disappointed, and taking it out on you. They have been gnashing their teeth about that release since it showed up in a list on Zimmer's site, so they are a bit.....well.

The only "proof" this is leaked is that someone copied tho cue names from ASCAP and added the three album tracks to the end, creating a tracklist for a supposed real CD.

If that's how i came accross that's not what i intended. Wanted to point out that the tracks, from what i could tell, matched up largely with the recording sessions, only some tracks have been merged into one and re-named.
Takehiro, thanks for this, personally im loving listening to this as is, it's nice to hear recording sessions for a score you really want, but usually i like to arrange all the alternate/unused tracks at the end, so they can be listened to separately and the score as used in the movie is uninterrupeted by hearing the same (basically) piece of music 2 or 3 times in a row. I guess if this is how we're going to get the 'recording sessions' - as a full score, then i'll gladly take it. All it means is that if some alternates do find their way out that i'll be adding them on to this one as a separate 'bonus' cd, as i prefer.

Well i wonder why they don't just release a complete score in the first place, if they just released a 2cd version straight off with something worthy that has over 90 mins of original music, they would win a lot more fans and the collection of bootlegs wouldnt be as underground as it is.
Some of them are starting to do this, with some like The Increadible Hulk getting a 2 cd release as a download or something that the retailer at point of sale can put onto a cd for you - they never gave it a propper retail printed cd release. I think this could be the way to go, as it definately must be at a lower cost to the company, since they dont have any costs of producing the disc.

@ Admiral Young: I find foobar easy. It can convert anything to anything as far as I know. But the easiest (and most successful) for me: All In One DVD Video Soft. It also comes with other stuff 0 cd burner, video to ipod/iphone, video to mp3, youtube to mp3, and more and it can all be done in various formats such as mp3 among others. Strongly recommend u try that one first.
I recently ordered online the 2 disc expanded score. is all the stuff here in that cd? If not, just want the missing stuff & will delete what the cd has. they never provided a sample preview or a track listing.

Zimmer is well known to arrange most of his albums in non-chronological order and editing them in the form of suites. Perhaps he believes that his music is favored in this way, since it permits to leave out any kind of filler music in favor for a better listening experience.

How do you know this? I guess it would make sense, if this were true, why complete scores to his movies barely ever surface--he doesn't like the music so he doesn't..want...anyone else to? Wait, that doesn't make any sense. Also if this is true, it is very sad. What is the point of writing music that you don't like. Zimmer writes excellent music, and his fans love it--but he hates it? I wasn't whining. I was stating that from the version I listened to that was similar to this (maybe the exact same) sounded like it didn't have any music of note that was missing from earlier releases. This of course comes from someone who doesn't like the really atmospheric stuff. I thought the main themes were properly represented in the original album and this version was tiresome. It's great that those who wanted complete can listen to it.

From what I've listened to, it's someones home made version of the existing 2 CD score. It's not bad (biasedly, I prefer my own version much better :p), but does the duty of arranging the different cues in chronological order and presenting a film accurate version of the score.

1. The Joker Suite (9:31)
2. Harvey Dent Suite (6:17)
3. The Dark Knight Suite (16:15)
are the same as:
29 - Harvey Two-Face (6:17)
30 - Suite I (16:14)
31 - Suite II (9:30)
They've just been named differently and are in a different order. I havent gone through the whole thing and compared the times, but im better it will all add up.
I'm not sure if that is a Joker suite. I took your suggestion there and decided to retag Suite I and II for my iPod because those lack of title bugged me. I think the Dark Knight one is the proper title. But when the Joker track started playing, I was expecting... Joker. Why So Serious and Bank Robbery kind of the stuff. Didn't really notice Joker's theme until the last 50 seconds.

As a matter of fact, there is. However, this is just an expanded score. The REAL complete recording sessions of The Dark Knight is at this link--
Thread 88319
By the time you've reached at least 10 posts, you have the power to PM Takehiro and ask for the complete FLAC version.

Well, in fact, all the meterial are out there.
One of the alternate cue was in the recording sessions.
For the rest three suites, two suite are in Offical release, and the last one was in Takehiro's set.

Any chance that somebody here can / is torrenting this? I've tried to download it three times now but every time I've lost the connection. I'd really really appreciate it.

Is this a link you got from KaFaraqGatri ?.
Why is no-one else having this problem ?.

I'm not saying it's a problem with the file itself per se, for all I know my internet connection has gone wonky a few times (though its never done so with the much frequency).

Oh, ok.
I was hoping for the Dark Knight 3 Disc Score
For information and track lists. (No downloads)
Hans-Zimmer.com - The Dark Knight (Complete Score) (

If there is a link to download this, please let me know.
Thank You

You need to pm the original poster. The 3 disc has pretty much been boiled down to 2, for the actual score. The 3rd disc is mainly album versions of cues and maybe trailer? music, and thus not really needed..

People seriously need to avoid HZ.com like a $5 hooker without a condom.
It's no different than considering scores on eBay to be authentic.
Serious.

well i went thru 24 pages to get to this link... finally. ha! but i do thank u. after going thru several 100 pages looking for at least something i could find to dl i finally found something someone was kind enough to share. incredible. wow. i love sndtrcks and im very much into having as complete versions as i can get. i dont care if theyre official or not.. i just want original scores by composers that i enjoy. i originally joined this site looking for a sndtrck to a film that came out in 78 where the sndtrck only existed on lp til recently. and evidently it is now expanded to a 2 cd set. im hoping to get it soon so i can put it on cd for someone before monday so i can give it to him as a gift. but i do want to thank theslap971 for this item here. finally a link that worked. i hope the passwords work.

it may appear that way. but i clicked on a link that brought me to a 2nd area or forum that had 24 pages. i attempted to post my reply to that page and even thanked the person who had posted the link that actually worked in my comment. his posting was 2 or 3 above mine on the 24th page of that particular thread. i didnt imagine it and i can clearly read #d pages just upwards and to the right of where i am typing this message here now. my first attempts were difficult and the bar on the bottom left didnt seem to move fast enough telling me that the page was loading and ultimately sending my comment to the forum... so i copied my comment as fast as i could before it was lost.. and i closed the page. i had a couple of prior pages behind it so i tried on one of those. clearly it ended up on this one where it appears that there is only 6 pages here. if u look for theslap971's link..the one that actually works.. it will be at the end of the 24th page of one of the other pages that i was sent to by clicking on a link that was on one of the 6 pages here. sorry if u were confused about this. im new here.. and still learning my way around.
while i have been dl'ing and collecting music normally of an unreleased nature for a number of years... doing so on a site like this is very new to me. ive kinda been at this since the early 70s however. in july 02 my audio / video tape collection #d approx 40000. literally none of it thru downloading. all of it thru collecting trading recording myself etc. since 05 my collection thru downloading is now well over 120000 cds and 140000 concerts. i am glad to be a part of your world now.. thank u for having me. perhaps we can learn from one another.
