Ta for nicking my cover scan back from when I posted this originally over a year ago. ;)

Also, Toshihiko Sahashi didn't conduct - Gavin Greenaway did.

I take then that Sahashi is the arranger? :/??

Composer and orchestrator. :)

Not sure why he didn't conduct... maybe the language barrier made him uncomfortable... does anybody know if Sahashi is fluent or reasonably fluent in English?

Orchestrator perhaps. Definitely not composer, since it is a collection of pre-existing Gundam music by a variety of composers.
Funny, the Japanese source I found for it lists him as conductor.
There is a making of documentary that might answer these questions.
It can be found here (Thread 85368).

Sahashi is indeed the composer; this is not a mere arrangement - it is a coherent symphonic work that utilises themes by others, but Sahashi is still the composer in the traditional sense.

I so wished that the "Making Of" documentary would be something a little more substantial than it is; I bought the collector's edition on the promise of a special bonus DVD, and in true Japanese fashion, it's ten minutes long; little more than some typical touristy shots of Abbey Road, about fifteen seconds seconds of rehearsals, and a full performance of the final movement "The Symphony" - but it's still fascinating stuff. The LSO, of course, are the epitomy of professionalism and high standards - and they seem genuinely pleased to have Sahashi back!

Do these files play perfectly for everybody? Every file I played seemed to end before its appointed time.
