Apparently every new release is getting more challenging for me. Vgmstream had looping issues with ".was" extensions as it caused songs to loop 3 times and some to not loop at all. Unfortunately that led to manual editing which explains the long release time-span. You will notice that some songs are not looped prefferably because the "average" human being tends to listen to songs at a maximum of 5 minutes. Anything above 5 would cause utter boredom and tiredness of the music track, especially if its looped. So no nags on the loops.

So what music is featured in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing? Memmorable tunes from 6 different series which are:

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Sonic the Hedgehog
Curien Mansion [House of the Dead]
Samba de Amigo
Super Monkey Ball
Jet Set Radio Future

Relatively good music as it blends quite well with the racing theme. Personally the best thing they've added to this game was the Commentator's Comments. I personally love the comments they're quite 'stupid'. I thought of spicing up this rip with a couple of those annoying phrases; therefore in this release I've included commentator intro, endings, all-stars and, as a bonus, character voices included :) Woot!

Enjoy this rip on me and thank you for your patience, expect many good rips this year. Btw KusanagiShiro you were right, Allister Brimble had no take in this game.

They should of added stages for the console only characters.

They should of added stages for the console only characters. As this is their first experience with a kart-racing title I think they did a pretty good job. I really enjoyed the game but the sequel will have high expectations [at least from me].

Besides the tracks they need to have:
-more original music
-more racers
-fix the issue where rockets aim at objects
-more vehicles
-online ranking system
-online all-stars
-similar type of blue shell
-Restructure the wifi-lobby completely. Waiting 10 minutes for a match is unacceptable.
-12 player matches
-Keep the announcer [new comments]
-and theres probably a heap load of other stuff thats missing that I forgot.

If SEGA does at least half of this fixes/updates in their sequel. I'll camp out for a midnight launch just for the game :)

Hey Neo, you should take a look at the Xbox 360 version of the game as i know that it uses 48khz XMA for it's music. Much better quality than what you have here :) PM me if you need help ;)

Thanks Neo_Chip for the very comprehensive rip. As a SEGA fan from when the Mega Drive first came out, this game and its soundtrack was a major nostalgiagasm for me :D

Just one thing, though. I've been having problems with track 69, "Piko Hammer (Amy Rose All-Star). It works fine when I put the flac into iTunes (having used SetOggs first on it to make it palatable to iTunes), then convert into .m4a for compatibility with my iPhone. But when I try and sync it over to my iPhone, the track seems to become corrupted just over halfway through. iTunes then throws a wobbler and says it can't put the track onto my iPhone. And sure enough, when I go back and check the actual file, the track sounds fine until just over halfway through, when I start getting only pops and cracks. There was nothing wrong with the track before I tried to put it on my phone. I've tried DLing the flac twice now, and got the same result in exactly the same place on the track.

So I just tried the 320Kbps version, and it seemed to DL OK, but Unrar X got stuck on part 2 of the rar archive. Obviously it's not the password, or it wouldn't have unrared part 1. Hmm... weird.

I guess I could do without that track, but the completionist in me is clawing at the back of my mind to get it fixed :) I'm on a unibody MacBook Pro from late 2008 running Mac OS X 10.5.8 using iTunes 10.2.1 (the latest AFAIK), if that's relevant.

Any help appreciated!

Edit: Never mind, I managed to unpack the 320K version with a different app called The Unarchiver. So far, track 69 works fine on both my MacBook Pro and my iPhone.

I hope it isn't too late for me to say: thank you so god damn much! I've been looking for this game's OST in lossless for a whiiiile now and kept using the site's search function like an idiot. Why does it suck so bad? ;c I just had to search this site via google to find this thread. Again, thank you! Finally for So Much More in lossless and - I kid you not - the Wi-Fi Lobby!!!! Christ, I spent so much time in lobbies listening to that music back when I got this game... <3
