And I wanna know what are and/or will be the best and most important games to play on it.

I think I'll buy one maybe in January or February when all the holiday rush is done. I haven't paid attention to the Wii library in the last few years so I don't remember whats important for it. I already have Arc Rise Fantasia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World cuz I neeeed to play those. I also have Link's Crossbow Training (picked it up for a couple bucks just for the hell of it). There's a couple games my bf wants to play, I know one is No More Heroes 2 and I can't remember the other at the moment (Fragile Dreams maybe. And Trauma Team.). There's a few others on my list to get....

Zelda: Skyward Sword
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Goldeneye 007 (maybe)
Pocoyo Racing (whenever it comes out........ don't judge me!!!)
SSMB

Suggested Games That Look Interesting To Me
Monster Hunter Tri (looks interesting)
SH: Shattered Memories (I might give it try, my bf will probably want to try it too)
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Little King's Story
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Okami
RE4
Sin and Punishment 2
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Punch-Out!!
Red Steel 2
Resident Evil The Darkside/Umbrella Chronicles
Wario Land: Shake It!
Warioware: Smooth Moves
Zack and Wiki
The Last Story
Xenoblade

Now what else is important to add to the library? And what color console should I get? I like the white for the clean and classic look, but I really like the black one too.....

Kirby's Epic Yarn
Little King's Story
Metroid Prime 3/Trilogy
Monster Hunter Tri (my favourite game on the Wii)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Okami (if you never played it on PS2)
Resident Evil 4 (if you never played it on GCN/PS2)
Sin and Punishment 2
Sonic Colours (I've just started playing it and it's lots of fun)
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Brothers Brawl (unless that's what you meant by SSMB)

Games that don't suck but aren't must plays:
House of the Dead: Overkill
MadWorld
Mario Kart Wii
Metroid Other M
NBA Jam
Phantom Brave (if you never played it on PS2 and if you're into NIS games)
Punch-Out!!
Red Steel 2 (requires Wii Motion Plus)
Resident Evil The Darkside/Umbrella Chronicles
Wario Land: Shake It!
Warioware: Smooth Moves (probably the most fun party game on Wii for me)
Zack and Wiki

Unreleased games you should keep an eye on:
Epic Mickey
The Last Story
Xenoblade

Fragile Dreams has a great story and atmosphere, but the gameplay is dreadful. If your boyfriend can put up with that, he'll love it.

I bought mine in 2007 but only play it once every six months. I recommend buying it only if you have friends for local multiplayer, then you'll get tons of fun. Otherwise once you beat Nintendo's heavyweights there won't be much to do.

I updated my list!

Anyway, Monster Hunter Tri is pretty hard to explain. It's a very unique game.

It has a very steep leaning curve. The game is very unforgiving when you make mistakes, so it's possible you'll be frustrated while learning the ropes. There are seven different weapons (Bowgun, Great Sword, Hammer, Lance, Long Sword, Switch Axe, Sword and Shield) and they all have very different play styles. You capture or kill monsters and carve them for materials, which you then use to craft weapons and armors. You can damage different parts of the body (such as the horns, tail, wing, etc.) to receive different materials as a reward. It's also because of this necessity of damaging different parts of the body that there is no lock-on in the game, which might make it more difficult.

It has a player 4 online cooperative mode, which ramps up the difficulty a bit and adds a few more high tier monsters to fight. A few of us in the channel whose name I cannot mention play together. You'd be welcome to tag along (we don't have a fourth player), but it could lag pretty bad depending on where you live.

Here's a pretty good review of it: YouTube - Monster Hunter Tri Video Review by GameSpot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX1Zo4_yn2E)

It's probably my favourite game... ever. I don't know, I can't think of a game I've been more addicted to in the past.

It's

Tri looks really interesting. I might be able to get into that if I can learn the controls well enough.

It's not that difficult, you just need to spend some time with it. Monsters have obvious tells for the attacks they're about to do and you'll learn your way around a weapon after you spend some time with it. It's a very rewarding game once you've got the hang of it.

By the way, are you going to hack your Wii so you can play pirated ISOs?

Nah. I'm not going to hack it. But if some games never get ported to English (eyes down Tales of Graces) then I just might consider it someday. I would buy a second one for that though.

edit - oh I remember what the other game my bf wanted to play was. Trauma Team.

Somehow I thought Kirby was coming out on the DS. :p

Some of the others look interesting to me. I haven't played Okami but I want to, it's sitting on my bf's shelf for PS2. I haven't played RE4 either but I kinda wanna try it. Metroid's not my cup of tea, but Mario is.

I do like NIS and already have Phantom Brave for PS2 :p I like NIS and Atlus stuff........ now if Atlus would just give me Luminous Arc 3, I'll be a happy camper...

Last Story and Xenoblade pique my interest, but I don't know if I'm excited enough for Epic Mickey. I remember the concept art and how awesome I thought it was going to be and the E3 stuff looked nothing like it :( I might try it though...... someday.

My bf is pretty lenient to bad gameplay if the rest of the game is good... although he didn't like the gameplay for Resonance of Fate at all so he traded it. He kinda has a thing for 'bad' games though lol He really likes Two Worlds and he can't wait for the second one to come out :p

Bought mine in 2008, but I have been using it a lot. Wireless USB keyboard + Internet Channel + Youtube = win!

Games recommended:

Animal Crossing: City Folk (if you have the DS version, this is a must-get)
Super Smash Bros Brawl (get it, no questions! Epic game, with the added positive side effect of being capable of being used to jailbreak a Wii).
Tetris Party DX (My belief: No console is complete without a copy of Tetris)

I'd suggest heading over to WIISO.com (with adblock and noscript on) and getting a tutorial on how to hack the system.

That's just me. Also:
Klonoa
&
Blastworks

Not being mentioned as Wii games to play is REALLY a shame.

You should, playing Fatal Frame 4 (which is never coming state-side) with a Fan-Tran is worth it alone.

Blastworks is a mix of a Shoot-em-up, Katamari Damacy, and Little Big Planet - In one great package.
It's REALLY fun and the editor is robust enough to warrant wasting a few hours making some really weird stuff.
