Can't wait! I'm a fan of both games! I'm happy to see Gyakuten Saiban to be more alive!

Capcom said they have no intention of bringing it to the West. So far, it sounds like a Japan exclusive. Fuck them, I want this...

Please be wrong! D:
And the 3DS is region locked, so we're fucked up.

Japan exclusive...for the time being. It would be completely stupid of them NOT to bring it out in North America. I think it'll be released stateside because it's a known fact that both series sell very well over here. The main problem is that the localization process might be a bitch, though.

They claimed it was because Phoenix Wright wasn't very popular in the west. Each game barely sells 250k copies. But Professor Layton games sell like hotcakes so I don't see the problem.
I'll post here the moment I have any more updates on the subject.

This seems pretty solid for a handheld title to me. Obviously, it's not on part with the Layton games, but it certainly seems high enough that they'd make a solid profit. Plus, I'm pretty sure I've read that Trials and Tribulations sold more copies in the US than it did in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Layton games had higher numbers here too.
I'm not particularly invested in this, since, like I said in the other thread, I wouldn't be playing it, but it seems like a really strange choice to me.
