CONKER: LIVE & RELOADED Complete Gamerip

Sheesh, it's been a while ago since I ripped Conker L & R (back when I was known as "Tappy" by most). I thought it was about time to share this beauty once again. However, this is the first time I ever shared the original (edited) uncompressed files (in FLAC). So enjoy! (I know I still do!!)

Grabbed by the Ghoulies Extracted Rip (Unedited)in .flac

I never got around to properly ripping GBTG (didn't like the game enough), but I thought I'd share them anyway. So to be clear; these files aren't tagged, nor edited (so they don't loop).

I think I've seen the Ghoulies rip before. I meant to try and tag it myself, but if I remember correctly there are a lot of short 10-30 second clips for the story book cutscenes... I'll have another look at it, though...

Yeah, in the part 2 download there is a lot of very short music files, all from those storybook cutscenes. Allltogether it's around 191 music files.

Some of the tags I could use from the Ghoulies mp3 files from the Rare websites, but if someone can provide me with more tags, then that's definitely appreciated!

So I started tagging the Ghoulies soundtrack. I've tagged what I know from the Rare site, as well as a few I know from the top of my head (Menu theme, Credits, and a few others). I'm going to play the game tonight, I think, with my laptop next to me and whenever I hear a new piece, I'll see what I can do for tagging. If I understand correctly from my own playthough of the game, though, Grant Kirkhope (the composer) wrote general room themes. Like, there are no set themes for specific rooms. There are also a few fight themes that I'm pretty sure were also universal. I'm going to ask him on Facebook if I'm right about this.

Interestingly enough, there are at least two songs missing that I noticed: The Ballroom Disco and the first part of the Baron fight. Baron II is in the rip, but unless I missed them (after going through all the songs at least twice) or it's in the part two of the rip (haven't gotten to that yet), they're for some reason missing. They were missing when I saw this rip a year ago or so, so I don't think it's your doing of forgetting them, but perhaps they're just unrippable..?

Once I get part 1 tagged, I'll probably make another file in the game and then try to get all the cutscene music tagged. THAT will be even more of a pain than part 1, but I'll attempt it.

Cool, do you think he'll answer?

Download the second part, they're in there! ;)

The Ballroom disco music is contained in the SFX part of the game, so that's probably why it wasn't in the other rip you encountered!

Yeah, defintely, it'll be a painstaking process, but usually when you're done it's strangely fulfilling.

Yeah, I think he'll answer. Fans ask him stuff on Facebook on occasion (myself included) and he tries to respond to all of them. I'm not sure if he'll respond to my question, since I'm not sure what his views are on fans ripping music from games, but the question's out there. I figure he will, though... Asked him about what was new that he composed for the Viva Pinata sequel, and he responded.

Oh, they are? Alright, then. Not sure why either are in the SFX folder, but okay. I'll download that once MegaUpload decides that I've spent long enough with my download limit exceeded.

Well let me know what he answers. :)
BTW....I think he must know that people rip his music from the games themselfs. He "must" know if he answers most peoples questions, since they must be fanboys (like ourselves LOL) and in order to enjoy all his music you must rely on gamerips or extractions.
I think he even might be flattered enough that people take so much effort making rips of his gamemusic......the legal issues is more a thing Rare, Microsoft or Nintendo might not be to happy about.

Yeah, I'm sure he KNOWS that people rip them (he's had people ask about some unused tracks in Banjo-Kazooie, like the two beta Click Clock Wood themes, "Mumbo's Raindance" and then the "Advent" track) but I am not sure what his views are, legally, on them. Like, if he's allowed to talk about this kind of thing for more recent games (GbtG is on Xbox Originals, and at the time, neither B-K nor B-T were on XBLA yet), so... we'll see.

Made some progress in tagging. Can do a bit more today, but I won't be able to for the most part until tomorrow afternoon.

Yeah...I noticed those tracks on his website. Such a friendly guy that he shared those with his fans and that he answers fan questions (did he answer yours?).

How's your progress thus far?

Oh, hey, this thread. I've been a bit busy, but I've got a few more songs tagged. After school today, I totally intend to just sit down for a few hours or something and just work on tagging.

He never answered my question, though I see he's been on Facebook since I asked, so I guess he can't / doesn't want to answer. I guess I'm going to have to play more myself... but I think, if I'm remembering correctly, I'm right in that there are just general room themes... Guess we'll see.

A quick review of the ghoulies, I can definitely get a BanjoKazooie vibe from it, but all the music is just light-hearted horror-type theme. Its kinda plain after a few listens. I'm sure the soundtrack went with the game well, but it doesn't really prove for any easy listening. I liked Luigi's Mansion, but it's soundtrack isn't something I'd consider burning to a disk or put on an SD card anytime soon. Don't see how Kirkhope got nominated for any awards, 2004 must have been a slow year. Not bad, just a little boring.

Excellent! Thank you so much for reuploading this beauty!

EDIT:

In the Complete Game Rip.txt, there's a track listed called "The Bullfish!!!%$#!!", but I've extracted both parts and it's not in there.

The tagging on the FLACs are also a bit odd (Small bits of the track names are sometimes in the Track Numbers), but I can easily fix the tagging myself, so it's not a huge issue.

Thank you, regardless.

I somehow missed it when I converted the WAV files to FLAC.

Actually, it appears that file doesn't work. I get a rar that I extract with winRAR, I put in the "FatBastard" password, but I get an error while extracting. Something about it being corrupted.

Never mind...I tried myself, you're right.

Seems like the crazy #!!%$^& in the title thingies mess up the unrar-ing process somehow.

Wow, quick response! Thanks for that. I'll grab this and try to fix up the tagging later. Not sure why it's messed up on my end.

If you saw my example with the opening to Beach Dead (sent it as a PM), could you check again to see if you're sure it's just me? It's not a huge deal, either way.
