i dont regret watching it, but i wouldnt recommend it either.
it contained poorly executed references and unexplained cameos.
i mean, WHY the fuck were there majinis there? and the executioner? WTF.

Need this on blu ray in HD now!! The executioner was renamed to 'AXE MAN' in the credits, that made me laugh! :)
All Resident Evil movies are pure fail.
Except Degeneration, kinda.

Degeneration was 'meh'. . . . The others? BOOOOOO GET OUTTA TOWN!!! *Gives them the Kanye West treatment*

this was a terrible movie
sorry power kid
but i love alice
are we all in agreement that the dialogue writers are doing a hack job because they are paying homage to the games though?

^^ lol "power kid" i didnt say it was a great movie i said i really liked it...lots wrong with it but i was siked, saw it and loved watching it -- i was waiting ages hoping they'd make another one then about 4 months ago my mate sayed they did make a new one and that was all i needed to see it.
its Sad alice no longer has the T virus although at the end of 3 welll they did a good job stoping that and now they are able to take the francise in a new direction and not in a super woman clone army direction (lol the clone beggining).
i agree they are trying too much to pay homage to the games the 1st one is a cult classic and it stood on its own merit, so did the 2nd one, interesting stories and plot twosts this one was more lack luster in those departments. I have much hope for the next one thought, i think they've set up something that if done right could be brilliant.

there was a commendable amount of metaphorical directing in the movie though. like the introduction scene with the umbrellas in japan was thick with metaphor.
just a shame about the plot.
i wonder if they'll make the next one in hologram or 3D again
i really like the first movie actually, yeah.

I thought it used WAAAAAY to much slow motion, even for silly things like grabbing a gun. The start of the movie was ridiculous, though I enjoyed seeing wesker fight in the helicopter thing.
Chris was just thrown in there and seemed like any other random character, he was not in control enough or focused on, he just kinda tagged along.
The executioner looked the part, and the scene where he was banging on the barrier and getting shot in the head added some tension, though it was annoying that he just got killed with a couple of shotgun hits, or rather... coins.... wtf. I did not like the fact that he ran either, he is meant to be a big powerfull SLOW enemy, to keep you on your toes. not a sprinter.
The fight at the end with wesker was more of an insult than a homage, it was basically ripped right out of the game, poorly. And he got killed by a bomb after flying away.. The game portrays it so much better, and epic fight against a ever more insane mutant wesker, falling into lava and getting blasted by two team rocket launchers. But the movie just kills him off ;(
Overall I think it shows zombies way to much and destroys the fear factor by shoving them in your face all the time. In the first, second and third games you were scared to run into zombies (assuming your first time playing), that gave it a real scary feel. In the movie they are fighting hundreds, and there are thousands of them just being a road block hanging around the buildings that people are in. Looking more like homeless beggars than zombies.
I'm more scared of the thriller music video than this movie. I think one brake danceing zombie slowly coming toward me is freakier than 100 running zombies :P

I was psyched to see how the Alice army was going to kick ass in a major way and then wham back to just the one and only in the first 5 minutes...what a let down. This movie had many flaws and was not as fun as the first two and also left you hanging which really pissed me off. [
1.5/5 stars]

This film is absolutely fantastic! If you want to see, you should see in 3D. Gimicks work quite well. When you see it, you do not see is the "Resident Evil game," the film. See it as a separate unit, and culture, and the Resident Evil series.

Personally I found all the Resident Evil films more entertaining and enjoyable than Avatar...with the 3D gimmick and all.

I liked it. But then I enjoy popcorn flicks just for the fun of it. Sure, much of the movie was a bit over the top, let's throw in some random game references, let's make several action scenes in super slow-mo so the audiance can "ooh" and "aww" at the 3D effects, let's throw in a few survivors with flawless features and perfectly plucked eyebrows. But as I said it's a popcorn flick that's to be enjoyed like a roller coaster and not a drive in a Audi or Ferrari on a professional driving course.

It was a RE film. It looks like they're "trying" to tie the films to the games now, but it's still very much more an action film than a horror film (but then again, so are the latest RE games it seems).
It deserves to exist only so that TOMANDANDY wrote main theme "Tokyo" for it. Well and the first 15 min of the movie were cool, I'm not gonna lie.
Actually that's the thing with pretty much all of Paul W. S. Anderson's films: they are a good, expensive looking garbage with not a bad soundtrack.

I really really wish they would quit making these Resident Evil movies. They tarnish the Resident Evil name. These films are more like a glorified Dawn of the Dead, instead of Resident Evil.
I was really disappointed! Movie really sucked. They overdid it with 3D effects, the fight scenes weren't all that great to begin with. I still say the first movie was the best!

I was really excited to watch the film , after having a mind blowing experience from Resident evil 1,2 and 3 . I must say Resident Evil Afterlife Disappointed me . Plot was good , acting was awesome but a great feeling behind it was that Director lost some quality in film trying to make it 3D . I watched it in 2D and my friends who watched it in 3D reviewed the film even worse , they want to watch it again in 2D .
