Hey, I'm back with my next complete/bootleg score, 'Series of Unfortunate Events' by Thomas Newman. I don't know about anyone else on here, but this soundtrack originally had quite an impact on me. Upon comparing the movie soundtrack with the original soundtrack, I found that a lot of the tracks were remixed or rearranged. Some sound completely different. There are minimal SFX in the main score, but there are more in the bonus/alternate tracks I've included.

So, most of what you're going to hear are rearrangements of the tracks found on the original score. Enjoy, and be welcome to post any comments. Also, please tell me if anything sounds bad--I am willing to update/modify any tracks.

I finally figured out what was causing the clicks between some of my tracks that only my iPod could pick out. In turns out I wasn't very careful in checking the sample rate for each Audacity project and some of the tracks have different sample rates than others. If your music-playing device was as precise as mine and could pick up on these, I offer a .zip file containing all of the corrected tracks. There is nothing different between these and the original files, save for the altered sample rate.

^^No, you didn't. Your score is missing roughly 11 tracks. Also, quite a lot of the tracks on the original score have been remixed for the movie. Why don't you download it and take a listen to say, tracks 8, 11, 12, and 38? I guarantee my score is more complete than yours.

Also, where's that score I requested from you over two weeks ago?

Indeed, this score is the most complete! Thanks Dimensioner, just can't wait to hear what you did for At World's End!

Sample removed. See my At World's End Score for "Shipwreck Cove", the track that was previously here.

Check my first post to see updated versions of several tracks in this score concerning sample rate. Any scores uploaded past the date of this post will have a uniform sample rate (meaning no updated tracks).

I have absolutely no idea of what that can be but Thomas Newman interests me then... thanks a lot!

If you care to know, the sample rate is something unique that every mp3 (and possibly other formats of audio) has. I can't explain to you what exactly it is a part of. I just know that I was careless with some of my Audacity projects and didn't check to see that the sample rate was the same on all of them. If it doesn't bother you, it probably is not necessary to download the updated tracks. If you do care, download the separate folder and just replace all the tracks that came in the main link.

This proves that a bootleg can be of excellent quality. Fortunately you warned us that there was some SFX because I'm still looking for! (alright, some singings of birds tracks 38, 39... but it's because written! They are not disturbing at all)

I will follow your work on this thread with great interest. Thank you for all your efforts: it is us who are rewarded...

:D

No, I probably will not be re-uploading this until we know for sure that our butts will be safe. How'd you miss this the first time around--the whole year and more that it was available?

Of course, some things have changed (or not) but I just feel like it is not worth re-uploading all my old stuff. I may not even be uploading any more new stuff either. Check the most recent post on my profile.

Besides, several short cues are missing, all of the 256kbps mp3 OST tracks were sourced from 128kbps mp3 (which was retarded on my part), and quite a lot of the film edits and various other film mixes are really inaccurate. You should look around for zeeky_5678's edit.

Thomas Newman is one of the best film composers right now (with Elliot Goldenthal)

I don't have it UPLOADED anymore. And I've stopped uploading stuff anyway. Every time I pick a file host, that usually ends up being the very next one to get the axe.

Also, read this post: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/series-unfortunate-events-complete-score-79413/#post2005096 There are quite a few other reasons that are not specific to this score as well.

^ TheDimensioner's reasons are at least rational ones, near as I can tell. There was another lunatic not that long ago who took all his stuff down because no one said thank you. Too bad I didn't have any tomatoes handy when I read that...
