desides

Pretty strange problem here. Ever since the forum upgrade, whenever I write a new post, the forum attempts to post it twice. Happens in both quick reply mode and advanced view, without fail. Every time I hit submit, I'll get an error from the forum that I cannot post messages within a few seconds of each other. Then I check the thread, and the post has been added just fine. So there's clearly an attempt at double posting, and the second post isn't going through because of the time limit between posts.
I also had one incident where I wrote a post, and the content duplicated itself within the same post; the same quotes and replies appeared twice. I edited the post to remove the duplication, of course.
Any idea what's going on here?

Not sure what's up, but most people seem to be having the same problem. It's likely Sarah (the admin) is looking into it. At least the double posting is fast enough for it to be picked up by the spam filter, though.

I have the same problem, too!
It says:
"The following errors occurred with your submission
This forum requires that you wait 5 seconds between posts. Please try again in 4 seconds."
But I go back to the thread and the post is made, so yeah, that's the problem.
It was doing that to me too, exactly as Auron Sigerthel described too with the '5 second wait', but it doesn't seem to be doing it now. Maybe it's fixed.
edit: Nevermind. It just did it again.
For me it is just double posting my shit. Maybe cause admin I guess. I could do all kinds of devious shit!

Just go in to edit and delete the double post bit until it's mended.
Yes, I am aware that I can edit my posts. Doing so every time I make one would be much more annoying than just letting my posts repeat themselves, though.

It doesn't do it to me though?
It seems to do it randomly in my case, it's not on every post. It's really weird.

Just logged in and I'm having the same problem. Any updates on the cause? Thanks to everyone working on it!
EDIT: This post didn't double up, but my update for the VGM rumble from a minute ago did. Does it only occur in certain sections of the forum?

I was just wondering if any progress has been made on this issue. At first I thought it was just my internet being a butt-hole, but after seeing this thread it seems I'm not the only one it's happening to.

nothing can be done until vbulletin fixes it, unless we pull the quick reply box entirely

i had an interesting case today. it usually gives you the warning that you need 5 seconds between posts, but when i put my latest reply in my pixar ost thread, it just double posted it. so i edited it and fixed it. it was just interesting, as it didnt give me the usual warning.

The last three times I have posted, I have got the "5 seconds" message. My post does post, but I get the message as well.

Agreed. I get that all the time. Usually, when the 5 seconds message comes up and takes me to the post form, I'll just hit the back button and refresh.
