imo we should just refuse to do name changes.
Hydrogen is the chemical element with atomic number 1. It is represented by the symbol H. With an average atomic weight of 1.00794 u (1.007825 u for Hydrogen-1), hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant chemical element, constituting roughly 75% of the Universe's elemental mass. Stars in the main sequence are mainly composed of hydrogen in its plasma state.
So, as you can imagine, banning it would really show the universe.

Semi related: don't you get annoyed every time you have to painfully type Cn†rC0r∑™ in? Or do you just have it saved in a text document somewhere and copy/paste?
Also: if name changes weren't allowed, I'd still be ExSOLDIER, and would probably not post anymore out of shame. Just sayin'.
Also: TK would still be Tifa's Knight, and Sarah would still be Ender, and the list goes onnnnnnnnnn

Or deal with the name changes and just simply ask who is who?
Not that hard, tbh.

TK was just an abbreviation (and it was how people already referred to me anyway.) The very first name I ever had was Maniac!
You're talking about single major name changes over the course of like 10 years. I'm talking about regular name changes, which are annoying.

The rare time I have to enter FSITO into the username box is pretty annoying. I asked Sarah for a name change several months ago, but she just had a big cry about me only talking to her because I wanted something from her.

Pretty sure there's a script for vbulletin that shows you a user's past names if you hover over their current username. It'd be kind of neat to have, but it might be a pain in the butt to add and I really don't think it's too big of a deal.

we should be able to do this via the usernotes thing, i'll take a look once everything calms down with all the new changes

If you post in the other thread I'm sure someone will change it. Or if you post it here I will do it I guess, even though I am against name changes.

This would be good, but then people will take it as reason to change their name every week x_x

Basically the general gist of what I'm getting at is; let's say I for example have my name changed to GeorgeWashington. Or something. All of a sudden Cn†rC0r∑™ isn't posting anything anymore. Instead of having to look all over, somebody could just see my real name (or unreal name) and know it's me right away. It just seems something like this would make it easier with all these name changes and avatar changes. I try to keep myself easily identifiable as much as possible, but I see some posters kinda go all out with it, and it does get a little confusing from time to time.
*In Wilford Brimley voice* Thanks for your time. Have a good day.
Of course it makes it harder to tell you're you when you have no avvy at all :p
