Pretty sure OP is just referring to the game coming out today, I haven't read anything about plans for the soundtrack. I picked up a copy of the game today and from what I've played so far if you clear out one section of enemies you could just stand in that area and record the music straight from a/v. The pause menu method won't work because it has separate music from the main game levels.

I don't know if that works for PS3, but I'm sure someone will get a proper rip from the game rather than a recording once the game comes out on XBLA in a couple of weeks because I know that people have a way of doing it for XBLA games.

then exit and unpause. Radio Tower in overworld should be unlocked, granting you Sound Test Mode. :-D

Wonderful. My biggest problem with the current rips is the rail sounds. Just curious, does the sound test mode have the proper track titles? I don't have the game yet, so I can't check.

They're just numbered (like a proper old-fashioned sound test), I'm afraid.

I would also like to know that source for that soundtrack date TheJorsh, since I haven't heard anything (and neither has Anamanaguchi, by the sounds of it).

A quick search on both Kotaku and Google doesn't seem to turn up anything about a release date for the game soundtrack (or even confirm the existence of one).

Yes it's been confirmed on many sites that the album will be released on the 24th. I believe that I saw this confirmed on playlist but could be wrong. Just type in the game soundtrack into google and it will list a bunch of sites. Can't wait for this. The ripped cues that were posted earlier sounded fantastic.

Hey, I just realized this, but the gamerip's version of "This is the End" (both the short version and the long one that are both medleys of a bunch of themes) isn't actually the right song. Going by the preview clips on ABKCO's site, it's a completely different song not even in the rip.

Is it in the soundtest? Anyone wanna take a whack at ripping it?

EDIT: I come bearing a new arrangement of the fanrip if anyone's interested! I'm very anal with organizing individual soundtracks, so I redid some stuff and felt like sharing:
-The 23 tracks in the fanrip that are on the OST retain their official titles.
-Ordering is not the same as the OST and is closer to the fanrip, which generally listed songs in the order they appear in the game.
-The extra versions of Suburban Tram (with the train noise) and Sushi Box (with the wind) are still included as tracks 24x and 26x with the denotion "(SFX)" following their titles.
-Chiptune versions of "Leave the Past Behind" and "Another Winter" are included as normal tracks. They have "(Chiptune)" following their titles.
-All jingles/ambience themes are included.
-Renamed certain non-OST tracks. This was a personal choice, but I think it works better (for instance, I renamed "Stage 1 Clear Cutscene" to "Clear Cutscene I" since you hear it in multiple stages and since they use Roman numerals for Gideon's two themes on the OST).
-Fixed the abrupt ending in the normal version of "Leave the Past Behind". I added a 7-second fadeout to it.

The only thing missing is, as I said above, the final track: "This is the End". If anyone rips it, I'll be glad to add it as track 43.
