Favourite characters from one of my favourite new RPGs =)

Basically, who are your favourite characters in the ME franchise? A why would be cool too... Try to keep it positive, please..



Here goes me:

Saren- Imo he's just the best fleshed out and a great tragic hero.

Tali- I just find her personality really cute. I think she gets better in ME2.

Garrus- Somehow he went from mildly annoying cop to Frank Castle. He didn't strike me much in ME, but he became an unforgettable badass in ME2.

For me:

Tali Zorah nah Rayya (Later vas Neema and then vas Normandy): I liked her in ME1 with her honesty and personality. In ME2, I agree with you doomjockey, she matured a lot and was one of the most loyal characters you can get to join Shepard, even moreso, if your Shepard is male and you romance her. I'm waiting to see how she's going to be in ME3.

Garrus Vakarian: In the first ME, he was the typical cop trying to bring down the bad guy, though he did have some issues with an old case. Returning in ME2 as the seasoned badass who, as Joker said "Pulled the stick out of his ass and beats people with it!" is rather accurate.

Legion: I liked the Geth in the first, and having one in your party in the second was pretty good. A good sniper and the banter between it and Tali after both their loyalty missions is complete is great.

I really like that loyalty and that she still holds DJ Shep in high regard regardless of Cerberus. Moreso since I couldn't get that kind of trust and respect from any others of my former team. :/

Hm...

Kasumi - I like her whole, "I'm not the most famous thief, but I am the best." attitude. It's something that's lacking from thieves in other games, who desire to BE famous, when that is often counter-productive. Her loyalty mission was also great, especially because of the renegade interrupt you can have Shepard do(btw, dude is smalltime...Shredder stole the WHOLE Statue of Liberty, and he thinks he's hot shit by stealing the head?!? Pffffttt!)

Zaeed - ...Call me stupid, silly, whatever, but I liked him just 'cause of his attitude. That, and how he took great pride in telling you about the Krogan he had begging for mercy(when you look at the Blood Pack armor he has in his quarters).

Joker - Far too underused in the first ME, he really shined here. His comments on your team were enlightening and hilarious, and he was, for a short time, a hero. Of course, what's Joker without...

EDI - HAL as a true bro. She's awesome on her own, but her commentary with Joker is like Penn and Teller...no wait, Abbot and Costello. You really can't have one without the other.

Garrus, Wrex, Tali - These three are together because I got chills and a strong sense of pride when we met up again. Garrus, as noted, became the effin' Punisher and a total badass. Tali stepped up to take leadership roles, and had no problem standing up to those she didn't like...but she was insufferably attractive if you romanced her. Wrex...well, what can I say? He OOZED 'Don't fuck with me' in the first game, and became the strongest clan leader after you died. Plus, if you didn't feel a sense of manly tears when he said, "Shepard! My friend!", I pity you.

Tali is my favorite from Mass Effect.

I don't know about Mass Effect 2 as I haven't played it yet.

I'd like to add the following to my list:

Kasumi Goto: Everyone needs to have a party member who's [i]"Smart, petite and Japanese"[/b] as the advertisement says when you go to recruit her. A 'James Bond' style loyalty mission which, although short, was a lot of fun.

Jeff "Joker" Moreau: Having only a minor role in the first one, in the second he was given more screen time and his comments when asked about the people you took on your last mission, are quite hilarious. One half of the 'Odd Couple' of Mass Effect 2. Had a few good lines in this one, some of which were most probably borrowed from a few well known movies: 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Matrix, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and to the series Firefly.

EDI: The other half of the 'Odd Couple of Mass Effect 2, and together with "Joker" share a good camaraderie more in vein (I thought) of Felix Unger and Oscar Madison (Played brilliantly by the late Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon).

Mass Effect

Kaidan: Plain simple military guy who doesn't let his past get to him. Always liked to to hear his honest opinions on missions.

Tali: The fact that you can't get into a relationship with her makes her more interesting.

Mass Effect 2.

Legion: His obsession in Shepard makes him interesting + this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwzoedQ_ZQ8).

FUCK YEAH, Death's Head! I was in hysterics throughout that whole point, what with Joker's repeated comments of "Shit, shit, shit!" and such. But the video you just linked is the best scene EVER!
