I guess we'll be getting some new episodes.

What iteration are they on, anyway?

They actually ended the series and are now just rerunning the original on ABC saturday morning. The population of Australia and New Zealand where very upset by this because for the past several series the show filmed down there.

does this mean a reboot of the original seasons or new seasons that are good and flow into one another? i'm hoping the latter because i can't imagine the original without trini, kim, billy, etc, and the actors that played them.

Are the space police and time police shows related? Like it's the same precinct but ones law and order and the other is like SVU?

I'd still like to see them try to appeal to an older audience (for the one's that were there when the "originals" were still new). I think this idea has potential.

You go through each level with up to 4 in person or 5-6 over internets and at the end of the level whoever got the most points gets to control the Megazord.

Was any of the SNES/ Genesis Ranger games any good?

I never owned a SNES but I did like the one on the Genesis. I never beat the movie one though but I remember finding that one pretty enjoyable too.

also, i hate the helmets for those rangers. they look so stupid. i get that they were trying to incorporate kanji/elements (red = fire, blue = water, yellow = earth, pink = sky, green = wood) but they just look so ridiculously awful and stupid.

allen, the japanese version had a female red ranger. she was the true red ranger or something.

I find it interesting that aside from the red ranger, every other role is open to any color. (skin, not ranger color) Sure the white guy is the leader and they could still pick a mostly white cast but it's far more fair than Avatar's casting sheet.

I wonder about how they're gonna pick for the Bulk & Skull like side roles?

Haha... ever since the Zeo/Turbo/Space days, I always wanted to be casted on this show. I *think* I could pull of the hero look, but I certainly don't have the martial arts skills... gymnastics, yes, fighting, no.

Yes and then he just casually changed the subject and said that this will the the most diverse movie ever. I guess proto Japanese, Chinese spanning the entire country and it's multiple dynasties, Eskimos, Hindu, assorted pacific islanders, a little Arabian, & Aztec isn't diverse enough.

Watching Shinkenger subbed. It is.....GLORIOUS.

They are going to fuck it up when they bring it here. They are going to fuck it up SO BAD ;; I just don't see how they're going to recreate the Lord/Retainer dynamic within American culture.

Takeru (Red) is balanced so well. He's amazing. Chiaki (Green) is just defiant/slacker/goofball love. Ryuunosuke (Blue) started out as the comic relief, but he's getting really awesome.

series should have ended in IN SPACE, when zordon died and with him, ALL THE EVIL IN THE FUCKING UNIVERSE.
but they somehow made a new series from a "lost galaxy". which was kinda... ok.

after that it was just one fail after the other(i HATE turbo with a passion). time force was really cool though, specially its kick ass intro and the cameo from the ninja turtles.
out of all the power rangers seaons, my favorite is proably mystic force, lots of greatly choreorapghed sword fights, reminescent of the epic fight green and red ranger had in the GREEN WITH EVIL episodes.. of which im reminded everyday i play MMPR on the sega cd because it covers those episodes (and theyre AWESOME)

Since this is a Power Rangers thread, I'm gonna go ahead and state my opinion on Samurai:
It's very good to see Saban back in action, but... I feel like it's just overly corny, even in comparison to MMPR. I kinda lost interest in the show after the episode with the Swordfishzord and the toxic monster with the annoying odor puns. Still yet, not all that bad, I'll try to catch up on the episodes I missed on Veoh.

I don't really think I'll ever watch it, considering how attached I am to Shinkenger. It was my first toku series, and I have the entire japanese mecha line.

Just sad to see what Bandai of America has done to them. Same for the show. Saw the first eps side by side on a stream, and it was heartbreaking.

Indeed. I was a Super Sentai fan before I started watching Power Rangers. But I hear that Time Force and Wild Force are supposed to be the most faithful Super Sentai adaptations of all of them.

I don't see way they didn't make it more serious if the original show was like that. Didn't power rangers start to pick up again when they made it more story and drama based?

You have to be careful. They have a tendency to make things too SRS BIDNESS.

They squandered absolutely adorable pokemon mecha on a grimdark apocalyptic concept in RPM. America has to learn how to balance the goofy with the serious. We're really bad at it. The Japanese are very good at it.

Thanks for the info on his redux album. Might consider buying that since I was not particularly fond of the CD they released in the 90's that had the cheesy actor voice-overs form episodes in the songs.

Personally, I prefer Super Sentai over Power Rangers. ^^ My favorite being Gokaiger.

I don't like Super Sentai anymore. To me, the last great season is Shinkenger and the best season is Ohranger (I don't care if it's censored).

Power Rangers+Saban? That's good but don't make seasons like Turbo (annoying characters) and Mystic Force (ugly actors).
