Yep. Mr. Rolfe can feel anyway he wants about it. It's not the just the game, it's how much of my childhood was spent obsessing over it, and pouring over Oriental Trader catalogs looking for the exact right toys to complete a Simon costume.

The ring, eyeball, and heart were pretty easy. It was the nail and the especially the rib cage that was a problem. If I could have gotten my hands on one of those large Halloween skeletons that have a filled in chest cavity, it would have worked. Alas, I never did.

Plus, I read the book by F.X. Nine. I have 2 copies, but I'll never read it again, because it's probably garbage and I don't want the memories ruined.

I think it's a real complete story even if I didn't understand some of the logic to the puzzles - the stakes are much higher, Franziska's introduction to the series is memorable and the music is better! The first game is a little stronger in terms of logical puzzles - but the second game does deserve some love! Wonderful ending as well.

2-4 is my favorite individual case, yes :) T&T fits together better as an entire piece (shockingly so, with themes and ideas from the main arc making their ways into 3-2 and 3-3 [see spoiler]), but for a single case 2-4 is the bee's knees.

I'm predominantly a PC gamer and have been for all my life so I'm thankful the thread title only mentioned consoles, couldn't really figure favourite PC games, not even a top ten, well maybe if I separated them by OS. I tried to pick only one game for every system I've had and give short reasonings for each pick, these are obviously completely subjective and do not really represent some sort of measurable "best" of each system.

NES
Contra
- When I think of a console video game I think of Contra. Simple, leave your brain at the door easy to learn hard to master game play, tight controls, great weapons (yeah, even the laser gun is good, haters just suck with it), great level design & fantastic music.

SNES
Super Metroid
- Few games have pulled the isolationist, claustrophobic feel as well as Super Metroid, let alone action-adventure games. The Nintendo magic was strong with this one and everything really felt right, on a console with as strong of a game library as Super NES singling out one was really difficult though.

N64
Conker's Bad Fur Day
- It was really a close one between this and Majoras Mask which I consider the best Zelda game but I had to go with Conker because I fucking loathe N64 RAREWARE adventure platformers, shit like Donkey Kong 64 is like the anti-fun equation to me with it's boring collect-a-thon gameplay of traversing same areas with little to no differences. Conker solved this by keeping the backtracking at minimum and logical. Humor was pretty bad and that's what made it great and the multiplayer was an absolute joy.


GAMECUBE
Eternal Darkness
- Looking back at GameCubes game library the system actually had a really diverse list of fantastic games, too bad it never really showed in sales. Eternal Darkness wasn't really a scary game, it had horror and a lot of creepy stuff at it but it doesn't really hold a candle to stuff like Condemned. What Eternal Darkness was though was a masterpiece of innovative, psychological game play and Lovecraftian story telling. Sadly it's unlikely we will ever see a sequel, even though sequels are usually worthless I would kill for an Eternal Darkness 2.

GAME BOY
Shadowgate Classic
- Most of the games I played with the old brick Game Boy were mediocre to bad methods to kill time while taking a shit, waiting a bus or trying to sleep, killed by the limitations of the system, sure there were some OK titles but nothing really stands out for me. Shadowgate owned though and beating it felt like an accomplishment.

GAME BOY ADVANCE
Fire Emblem
- I've never read a story of a Fire Emblem game since they seem like the worst schlock out out Japan since Dragon Ball Z and to be honest looking back at the games I doubt I could even really tell them apart, but the first Fire Emblem game released in the west instantly made me a fan because of the brilliant, addictive gameplay.

NINTENDO DS
Secret Files: Tunguska
- Another hard system to figure a favourite for since I really haven't played that many DS games and the ones I have were more or less uninspired sequels or mediocre ports. In fact the game I chose as my favourite is a bad port of an older PC game but my god what a game it is. Tunguska is an absolutely insane point-and-click adventure game with really obtuse, head-ache inducing adventure game logic and script that would make Uwe Boll cringe and that's why I love it. Many games go for that B-movie feel and few pull it off, Tunguska did.

PS1
Bushido Blade
- Bushido Blade is the greatest thing Square ever gave to the world. There I said it. Hard choice between this and Tenchu but multiplayer in Bushido Blade was one of the most intense, nerve wrecking experiences in gaming.

PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
- This game was the reason I bought a PS2. It was a good reason. Snake Eater still stands as the best Metal Gear game maybe even the best Kojima game.

XBOX360
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron
- I still buy games for the XBOX every now and again so my favourites change constantly. Haven't ran into nothing really fantastic yet though, a lot of good to great games but nothing that really stands out. Currently I'm playing a game called El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, which is a really good looking action game based on Jewish mythology with a really bizarre Japanese twist. It has been pretty fun so far so it might aswell be my favourite.
