This theme reminds me of a past final fantasy theme. Can't remember which one. Thank you though.

This IS a past FF theme - FF8 if I remember correctly.

Wonder why they're using this on the website?

Um, that's the series' main theme. It's been used since FF1. Nice rendition, too.
