During its GDC press conference, Sony announced that the PlayStation motion controller -- newly dubbed PlayStation Move -- will launch in several different packages to accommodate the various gamers out there. Sony is planning an "aggressive" marketing campaign around the new peripheral when it launches later this year and -- similar to Microsoft's launch plans for Project Natal -- it will treat the launch of the PlayStation Move as a separate "platform launch."
There will be multiple bundles, including a bundle that includes a PlayStation 3 console, the PlayStation Move and the PlayStation Eye. Furthermore, the company will launch a starter pack, which includes a PlayStation Move, a PlayStation Eye and an unnamed game all for under $100.

You hear about the 3D material... about how there's not going to be a firmware update, but more or less you gotta buy a 3D tv? Just a rumor, I think.

"Playstation Move"? Really? Couldn't they honestly come up with a better name? Wtf?
Plus it's completely unecessary. I sincerely doubt that 3D gaming will have anything to offer. It would be cool to try it out once I guess, but I think in the end it'll just get dull. I hope companies don't start making games that require it's use. That would be fucked beyond belief.

Pretty sure Sony were producing gaming consoles before Microsoft. "The who copied who" argument is stupid and will never be resolved.
But instead I'll just add another

This also isn't the 1970s and it isn't like it's the video game industry boom of that time when there was 10 different versions of the same system and no copyright laws. I'm also not a fanboy of anything. As far as i care for all the new gen systems suck.
Every system rips off of something. Everyone was carts then everyone was CDs and now everyone was DVDs, it's called a trend. But for god's sake, when you're this blatant,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Move
all you can expect is people calling you out. It's basically a black Wii with the name Sony on it. They didn't change anything, rather than putting an ugly big ball on top of the controller. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't tried to sue them for it.
This generation of gaming consoles sucks IMO.
Personally, I think every console to be invented has its ups and downs. You can't fault the Wii creators for trying, silly as most of its games are. At least it has the saving grace of having Twilight Princess amongst its library. Systems like the Ps3 and Xbox360, with their online capabilities, really take things to a whole new level. But I've never really been one to favor one console over another. They each have good games, and that's all I care about tbh.

Personally I like the look of those controllers over the Wiimote/Nunchuck. The removal of connector chord is also awesome.
The ball is ugly though.

You're right about that, but I said it because now it's more about money more that gaming itself.

Yeh, that is definitely sad but true :( Back in the old days, a game didn't need to look even pretty to sell like a cancer cure. Nowadays too many games are nothing but nice graphics and O-K gameplay, but linearity and a lot seem to get a lot of false-advertising, causing myself and others I've known to pick it up and be sorely disappointed with what we got, which didn't turn out the way we were led to believe. It's partly why I'm so hesitant to buy new games anymore, because I just know it's not gonna be what I hoped for. I'm glad I did what I did with RE5, because I don't see myself ever buying that one after completing it once. It was fun, but had no lasting power for me like the others in the series did. Developers need to quit thinking graphics are all that make a game.

To be fair the Playstation Move looks pretty badass. At least Sony aren't relying solely on that as a premise for a console, because an entire console based around a gimmick like that would suck..... oh wait.

Now a good game I would like to see with the 3Dtv is that one arcade game where you actually have to have your feet planted on a fix position and you are a police officer shooting bad guys and avoiding bullets.

im sorry but thats the truth
It doesn't make much sense to expect Sony not to adopt things that work for its competitors. It's obvious to everyone that they are copying Nintendo on this, and it's obvious that they are doing so because Nintendo was very successful with the Wii and so Sony wants to compete. This is how capitalism works. Welcome to it.

Seeing some of the videos about the Move, I'm really impressed by the accuracy of this thing. I was pretty annoyed with the Wii remote's motion tracking accuracy but this looks incredible, and easier to control. I'll probably buy it.
Did I miss something? when did Nintendo own the concept of motion sensory?
Why shouldn't Sony try to add something new? Even if it has been done before by a competitor?
Hell they'll probably make some money off of this and it could possibly even be better then Wii motion.
Though that Xbox one looked the most impressive for me.

Gamecube used
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDVD, a form of DVD, in the same era around PS2. Not to undermine your point, just saying the Wii wasn't nintendo's first use of a dvd based format.

Even so the PS2 came first (in 2000) so even if the Gamecube (2001) could use some sort of DVD's (personally I never heard about this before, nor have I seen them being used), a reasonable point could be made as to who copied who.
This really is endless.

It's not so much Sony is using motion controls, it's a good idea and more companies should do it "and are", but for God's sake am i the only one who looks at this and say "Nintendo made a new control...WAIT a minute"? At least make an original controller design.
Also for added irony and laughs.

What's with this all rant on who's copying who...
Frankly my dear I don't give a damn.
Motion controllers maybe an interesting thing but I prefer to smash buttons.
DualShock FTW, the most confortable, useful prescise controller in the gaming history.
Although I agree with you in one thing, the design could be more original.

You haven't seen a gamecube disc being used? I am talking about the gamecube games. Yes, those characteristic mini discs the gamecube games come on. those are mini-DVD which i linked you to, but I suppose you didn't read the article. Near the bottom it does make mention of the gamecube as well.
Nintendo used a disc-based format for their GameCube system, which was a variant of an 8 cm DVD.
MiniDVD (Mini DVD or miniDVD) is a DVD disc having 8 cm in diameter.

Anyway, I'm not sure what the point is in accusing any of them of "copying" when it is a valid and acceptable move to stay competitive. Sony's device looks exactly like Wii's setup, but we know it works differently (with a camera). Natal has been called a glorified EyeToy, but we know it works differently (sees in 3D, gesture/face/voice recognition).

I won't buy one, but who knows, I might borrow one off a friend or something to try it out. Personally I don't think it copied Wii's design either - Wii is a rectangle with a semi-cylinder bottom HOW CAN SOMEONE MAKE A SHAPE THAT DOESN'T RESEMBLE A SQUARE/RECTANGLE OR A CIRCLE!
Ok a triangle but that would just be awkward to use.
