Probably the worst hans zimmer score for me.
I don't think it's bad. It's just different. I can't be compared with big epics like Batman or Pirates. I think he made some cool music for the Sherlock Holmes universe.
The best track is the long one for me cause that has the most action music in it which I love most about zimmer.

'I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before' reminds me music from short animation "Falling Art" by Bagiński.

Can't be worse than "Mission: Impossible 2."
I think I'll wait for a higher bitrate version...

Ouch!!! Not the best Zimmer around. Think James Horner's Avatar killed off everything else... Anyone stuck for other Zimmer or Horner Stuff?!? Fire away and I'll do my best.

I don't think Avatar and Sherlock Holmes are that impressive. Of the 2009 scores, I'd say I like Agora, Angels and Demons, Harry Potter 6, Terminator Salvation, and New Moon the most.
Between Avatar and Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes is more relistenable for me, other than Avatar's long 'The Battle' track. Psychological Recovery is a nice long action track. Some of the other themes sound a bit too Jack Sparrowish for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if the movie is not all that serious...
Thanks again for the up, though. I love listening to all of these soundtracks. Might pick this one up for the hell of it.

It's one of the most clever Zimmer, between Morricone and Elfman. Great soundtrack, much better than Pirates !
And thanks for the link !
I like it. The theme is coming from "Matchstick Men" (or maybe before), but I like the work on small strange sounds and little noise, a little bit like Elfman.

Thanks for sharing :)
have to say I am a bit disappointed in the music though. Seems a bit too quirky and comedic for Sherlock Holms for the majority of it, also a bit too much Pirates... Doesn't hold a candle to the old Granada Sherlock Holms series soundtrack
In fact...
I really liked it. Too soon to say if it's a good Zimmer or not, but I like it's quirky, jumpy kind of music, a mixed between to scores I love from him : POTC 2 & 3 and Matchstick Men.
I'm going to listen to it again :)

Mmm, I'm gonna download it with more bitrate. For now, I consider that THE BEST soundtrack of this year is Angels & Demons. And, ofcourse, HP6.

Sounds odd for Zimmer, but it's actually good score.
Is it me or do I hear a sound, a percussion that Steve Jablonsky used in TF2? At 1:19 of Discombobulate. Maybe Zimmer made it on TF2, or copied from Jablonsky, which I hope he didn't.
Thanks for the link, now I have to see the film.

Thanks, licenturion. I had no particular interest in this OST but all these shattering reviews made me curious. 8D
THE BEST soundtrack of this year is Angels & Demons. And, ofcourse, HP6.
That would be "Moon" for me.

While we're on the topic of "best ofs," I'm surprised Michael Giacchino's "Up" hasn't gotten more love. It's the most moving and emotional music I've heard in a theater all year, especially the score for the "life montage" at the beginning. Oscar-worthy stuff, I think.

What? A Hans Zimmer score that is actually good, despite the fact it is all crappy synth? I am in shock.

I agree with comandancoucheto.
This is a great score !
To me, "Hannibal" is Zimmer's worst ever..... as the movie itself.

I suggest search youtube for word "bagiński". I know he's preparing film about Warsaw uprising called "Hardkor 44".
Pixar is also good in making short films.
here's link to Bagiński most famous film (Oscar nomination) - Cathedral
