Ok, I admit it, I'm somewhat new to the world of FF. I seem to be doing good on the game except for 1 problem.... I originally had Arc as a black mage and that was good and happy for a while. Then I made him a scholar, ever since then he has 9 MP in level 1 and 1 MP in level 2.... and no matter how high his level or job level raises it never goes up, it also stays the same if I change him back to black mage.
Can someone please tell me how the MP system in this game works lol. Thanks

Your characters need plenty of food, water, and sleep to maintain high HP/MP.
And reward them with biscuits now and then =]
Refia and Lenneth need nail polish, chocolates, and lots of different armors.

are you using any ethers or resting at inns and what not to replenish magic? There are also places where you just check them and HP/MP get restored. Right now I can only remember the fountain at that first or second building in the first town. I haven't played this game in a while.
Edit: Ethers are expensive, resting at inns is better or using tents or whatever. Also, find out which monsters you can steal ethers/elixirs from, those will come in handy in any tough situations you may have. =]

It's not a point problem, I go to the inn a lot. I mean my MP capacity is not raising even though its low for its level

if i remember, the number of times you can cast a level 8 spell is far far lower than the number of times you can cast a level 1 spell, as far as not resting at an inn or such
if i remember, i can cast a level 1 spell 99 times but only a level 8 spell 4 times, i am iffy on that number 4
but the idea is, as the level of the spell increases, the number of times you can cast them goes down, the numbers above are a maxed out party level 99, jobs level 99, best equip, three stars beat the game, yada yada yada
