I dont know what would be a good software to download in order to convert a rar file to mp3 or any other to be put on iTunes. I am also looking for a program that can do it for me for free and is obviously not complex in doing so.

.RAR is a compressed file. Get WinRAR (
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar390.exe) to extract the folder that's inside the rar file.
Install that puppy, and extract away to get the mp3/FLAC/avi, or whatever is inside.

I'd actually suggest using 7zip myself.
I've found it to be a more flexible program.

dkjamz2009 both are good. I actually use both of those programs, and maxsplitter as well. Either one of the two is fine though. Both have simple GUI's. I honestly only see 7zip is when I download video game ISO Images though.
