One of the reasons (beside Monster Hunter :p) that I wanted a PSP was to hopefully play some PS2-style RPGs. You know the sort, with fancy shmancy stories and even shmancier animated cutscenes. I basically missed out on the PS2. So enough fannying around;
I already have PoPoLoCrois, Star Ocean 1, Tales of Eternia, FFT and MHF if that counts. Basically after any kind of RPG that isn't Crisis Core - the more traditional and turn based the better. Jeanne D'Arc is in the post.
What else should I look into?

i'd say look for a DS if you want a shitload of RPGs you want based on your description
I played this game called Brave Story: New Traveler. I didn't think I would enjoy it but by the end of the game I just wanted to finish everything because I enjoyed it so much. There's content specifically for after you beat the game, and extra content that is super cool. The story was great too, I would definitely recommend this game.

Crimson Gem Saga and the PSP port of Disgaea. Even if you've played the PS2 version, the PSP one has a ton of extra content. If you're willing to wait a while, Persona 3 is getting ported to the PSP.
Crimson Gem Saga is very good, I liked the characters a lot!

It's been a while for this, but hopefully no one reminds me reviving it.
I just got a psp and started playing some RPG's for it as well. Persona is cool, and star ocean is fun also. Obviously FFT is fun (although I think the ports of the music sound goofy sometimes.)
I wanted to ask about a couple of other ones. "Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner" and "R-Type Command" both seem good but I wonder if any of you have played them? R-Type command seems to be a tactical RPG with elements of a shooter? I figured i'd ask some of you who have seemed to play some of the RPG's out there before I went out and bought them.
