Knowing that this is a great place, I decided to figure how to look for things the right way by search.
There are forums where it "works" as it is known, but here, I keep getting inaccurate results, most likely because I don't know how to use those "hidden" options.
For instance, I am sure that the Soundtrack from Hamburger Hill (1987) - Philip Glass is available in the big lossless Thread (should be ^^, but I also used the whole site search too).
Nevertheless, I keep getting wild results because I am probably not using the options as said above; meaning I get "hamburger" results and some 10 pages of hill or whatsoever (and that using the given options from search).
Are there specific options that I must type to improve accuracy? you know like "+Hamburger hill" and so on.
On the side note, I was wondering if somebody could give me a short hint on how to use google search options correctly too, as it may help out too. Somebody surely uploaded the soundtrack at megaupload/rapidshare/mediafire (♥♥♥♥ :) !)
This could help out others with searching too :D.

it's a lot easier to just search for the more rare words, ie hamburger ;(
not sure how else it'd let you search for specific quotes

My experience has been that the search function always prioritizes matches in new threads above matches in old threads. So if you type in "Hamburger Hill (1987)" and it finds "hill" in 30 threads that are newer than a thread titled "Hamburger Hill (1987)," then you'll have to wade through the 30 threads--even though there was an exact match. I haven't found a way around this.
However, if you know what thread the soundtrack is probably in, you can always use the "search this thread" button at the top of the page. I wasn't sure if you had tried that yet. If not, going to the lossless thread and using that function is probably your best bet.
Hope this helps.

no it just doesn't work because of peope putting up massive threads.
the ones with a huge list of links.
prehaps the search could have an option to exclude them from the results.
some times u get other bullshit as well from the general discussion.
i use google sometimes. u have to put the search and than ffshrine.
i couldn't even find god of war 2 ost untill i used google. even though it says the name of the ost in the title of the thread.

also it seems impossible to find anything to do with Dragon Quest or Dragon Quest VIII Original Soundtrack, or Dragon Quest VIII Original Soundtrack Symphonic Suite.
but if u type it into google it's there right away.

ive just tried to search using the other options and it does make a big difference.
if u just select the forum section it is most likely to be in.
i'm not sure if it will help when the people put it all in one thread. but when u search titles only it's pretty good.

From my own experience, i have no reasons to complain about the forum search.
If i'm looking for some album i write on advanced search the full name of the album, searching only under the download links section and for titles only. If i don't get any results, then i search for entire posts, and i can see all the threads from download links section, wherein that album may exists.
Then for every thread, i use the 'search this thread' option at the top of the thread page, and i write on 'Keyword(s)', just one word of the album (e.g. 'Hamburger' for Hamburger Hill, 'Silent' for Silent Hill, etc.).
It can be a slow process yes, but the results are quite effective.
Trying to find the Robocop OSTs, so far I only found Part II because it has its own thread. I am deadsure the other ones are in the movie collection ones too (Loseless).
Isn't there a way to google-search option to narrow the search on ffshrine forums or is that impossible?
edit:
okay I found part I but it took a heckuva while hehe.

The forum search is goofy sometimes...I usually don't get good results unless I search threads themselves...
I use a Google Custom search with some of my better-known sites for Video Game Music, i.e. Prjoject 2612, Zophar's Domain Music, vgm.hcs64, GH,
http://tzone.org/~llin/psf/ (the psf's that were too big for zophar to keep), and of course the FFShrine forums, but I am usually not looking for anything too obscure.
In short, I agree. The Forums search is goofy...
