Like that Killzone 2 rip, I once again wanted to bring this to Rapidshare users. Also doesn't hurt to have more mirrors.

Great rip done by OrangeC.
Cover done by Doublehex.

Hope neither minds my posting this. Just want to spread the great music around to as many people as possible.

Also, if anybody is feeling up to the task of giving each track a name, I will edit all the tags and will convert to mp3 or leave it at ogg. Whichever people prefer.

It's up. Winrar, no password. 450Mb

Yeah, I agree, a great rip they did (those guys always do), but 200+ songs are to much, that's why I always do a edit like this with rips I find here and give them names (usually what the source files are called), easier for a playlist (and me) to digest.

I like your style. I generally dislike it when there are a ton of songs, especially when a bunch of them are a minute and under, so this is great. Definitely would be perfect for the iPod. I salute you.

Also if anybody wants RS links to his upload, you have but to ask.

Edit:

Is it supposed to be "Poisoned Ivy"?

Yes, just like the achivement (or trophy if you are on the PS3). A few track names have achivement names as I ran out of ideas.

Hey Hagman,

Thanks a lot for the major editing and naming the tracks. I'm downloading your package as we speak.

Out of curiosity, in which format are the files because 450mb is quite a lot for about 30+ songs.

Cheers,

:)

MP3 320kb/sec. The program I used don't offer anything else, its free and easy to use. I'd prefer WMA or OGG or something, BUT to my defense, it's over 3 hours of music. Maybe next rip will be edited with some other program and different format if I find something better to use. But don't we all have ADSL these days? ;)

EDIT: I could convert them to something different and reupload the archive, but I'm unsure how the quality will become. I got a pretty good converter that can convert to several different formats though. WMA?

Thank you SO much for this. I'm a happy owner of the PS3 version of this game, and the music completely blew me away. Take the Credits for example, it's like the videogame version of The Dark Knight, quite close to what Zimmer did.

Fantastic score. Thanks again for the effort and time to put it up while we're eagerly await the official release. (If it comes..please)

The voices for the cutscenes don't seem to be in the bik. Does anyone know where they are, and an easy way to mix them into the movie easily?

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems easier to just record during play as the cutscenes are also missing some music as well due to transitions to gameplay.

Speaking of... how do you rip the music anyway?

OrangeC
09-05-2009, 07:26 PM
its a complicated process, regular music uses fsb banks and that is easy, but the interactive music uses multichannel mp3, that is a bit harder to rip, which requires recording from the fmod tool to actually rip - no other way.

i downloaded this the other day an i dont think it has this particular song included....

its the one that Joker plays over the P.A. system after he invites you to his party, it sounds like Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra, an it seems to be looping on one particular verse but i would like to know the name of the song if anyone knows so i can search for it.

thanks.

No I don't like how I went into a room where I need to turn on those air fans and I can't turn around to do something else instead when this isn't even part of my mission. There's a guy hanging by a cord and I keep using my batarang to cut him so he falls in the poision gas but how do I turn that shit off I can't fly anywhere or anything.

OrangeC
09-05-2009, 10:48 PM
Target the control box with the batarangs and always use detective mode to find targets and such.

Stealth missions i didn't really have a problem with them.

But anyway just keep playing the game, it gets fucking epic believe me.

its a complicated process, regular music uses fsb banks and that is easy, but the interactive music uses multichannel mp3, that is a bit harder to rip, which requires recording from the fmod tool to actually rip - no other way.

Could you please link the tools you are using to extract or rip the music files?

I edited the tracks and gave them names, if anyone want that also I can upload it here. Don't consider the tracklist chronological (neither was the original files).

Escorting Joker (11:49)
The Choke's on You (4:31)
Batman (8:33)

Great list! I am downloading it right now, so I am not sure wich tracks are what but I am wondering if the track called 171 - OverworldReveal is part of the track Over-World (6:27)? I just loved the music when you are on that cliff looking over Arkham Island for the first time..

Also I would appreciate it if someone could make this list chronological :) I would have given it a shot myself, but I am just at the beginning of the game due to the lack of time that I have for it.

Anyone got that sound that appears before Joker's announcements?

BigBossPETE
10-10-2009, 05:37 PM
Is the irritating "chime" that is played right before one of intercom announcements in here???? cause I need to harass my girl with it.....

I've been a frequent user on these boards for years, but have over time lost the desire to comment unless, I was thanking someone for posting a soundtrack or so......

but.....

As someone who works in the gaming industry, and has been a gamer for 25+ years, and who has beaten Arkham on hard, and in their own opinion believes Batman to be the greatest comic character of all time.... yet---

I totally hated this game.

It's terribly repetitive (same Titan boss fight, over and over, and over, and over, and over.....).... boasts some of the laziest level design (they look pretty but that's it), has a nearly absent soundtrack (one that Walker could have destroyed with a *fart*) and clunky control...... I can pull off 60+ hit combos no sweat, but it's still a clunky system that needs polish.

I don't think it's a horrible game..... it's just not GotY material (although it tries to pretend), and even with my Bat-Bias, I'm sorry the game is a solid "7" and nothing more..... and this opinion is based off my over-priced $99 collector's PS3 edition.... that I wish I never blew the cash on.

One of my best friends believes it's the greatest super hero game ever made..... which to me, in itself sounds like a joke..... seriously how many super hero titles are even that good in the first place???

...... and personally, I've had way more fun with Batsy back on the SNES, but again that's just me.

Anyways, I apologize for venting.... wasn't trying to start crap with anyone, I just represent a different type of Batman fan apart from the kinds that have all been magically springing out of the woodwork ever since Nolan's "Begins" arrived.

(..... phonies.)

SOOOOOO TRUE!
Ask these 'phonies' about the comics (even Knightfall) and suddenly it's like you're talking gibberish! RIGHT ON! B:AS isthe best most of them can do (but that is admittedly, very good for non-comics entertainment).

Actually, as all the links are dead, may I request an Mp3 tagged version? That would be really nice! Thank you very much!

Is there any chance that there is a version out there with more... divided up tracks? I mean, is there a version where most of the tracks are like 2-4 minutes long, rather than 8-10?

I was quite excited to find this rip (thank you, OrangeC), as I found the game music to be great, but for the life of me, I can't find the password for the files. The download page directs me to this forum for the password. Does anyone know what it is? I've read through all 5 pages of this thread, but could not find it anywhere. Am I overlooking something obvious here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are 2 rips in the VGM Legacy thread....stupid question: is the 2nd one with the larger amount of tracks the "better" one? Whats the difference besides the 2nd one having multichannel tracks?

I find it interesting that no one is complaining about this not being in mp3 format. If these were mp4 files I'm sure everyone would be complaining. But ogg? What am I supposed to do with this? At least with mp4 I can get the files on my ipod or listen to them in itunes. BAH.

there's no other middle ground codec like ogg. just convert it to whatever you want and be thankful.

This is an epic soundtrack. Worth downloading all that 450MB. Out of the 33 songs, 7 of them are crap or have exact pieces of previous songs within them like the Visitor Centre and Batman's theme, but this is an unbelieveably great soundtrack and Ron Fish/Nick Arundel did a great job. Although an official OST would have been so much better.

questions about the megaupload link:

1. is it for the NEW & BETTER RIP?

2. lossless?

3. how many tracks?

4. @Hagman (or whoever has downloaded it): is every track edited with actual track names? i ask because when i counted the track names Hagman posted, theres like 30. Surely, there's more music than that for this long game????

Yo Phenom, Hangman's rip contains all tracks which are 8 mins long at a minimum, all at 320kbps and complete with track names and album art. He joined all the bits and pieces together to form this complete OST. And yes, it's the MEGAUPOAD LINK which is 450MB.

@Badman: I've ran into that problem (unplayable on ipod) before a number of times. Try these:
1. create a Apple Lossless version - there is a menu on itunes to do this. just navigate to it.
2. get a converter. most say dbpoweramp. for me, foobar & DVD Video Soft has what I need & are easiest IMO so I'll suggest one of those & convert it to a format that would work in itunes (WAV, WMA or M4A). Strange that mp3 doesn't work. It should. Hope that helps.

@xocsucram: can u post a download link so we can download that Joker party song?

Call me Firebolt... anyway, Hagman1983 has combined the cues but not exactly in the best way... plus, he's left out a lot of tracks... like Killer Croc, Botanical Gardens fight music and Intensive Treatment so I'm disappointed with that rip. And yes, that rip contains 34 tracks, 320kbps and 450MB.

There are 5 links i have posted earlier in this thread, which happens to be OJSimdicks/OrangeC's lossless rip (in OGG format) and I've downloaded 2 archives of 5.
All i can tell u is download both and have a comparison. =D

OrangeC's new rip (links are in my 2nd previous post on this particular thread, no need to search the VGM Legacy 2010, i copied it from there) is approx. 1.5Gig.
And EVERY SINGLE CUE IS ON THE NEW RIP!

As to what "layers" mean, I'm talking about the instruments in separate mp3 files...
An example of this is Survival Tactics challenge. It starts off without drums, violins and choir. Once u kill an enemy, the orchestra slowly comes in. The way the music in the game works, it's like a mixer (kinda like Sony VEGAS/ACID).
Trumpets will start off as solo, then mixer track no. 2 comes, then 3 and finally 4.
This is what full mix.mp3 (file name from OrangeC's) is called.

Plus he didn't include the DLC music.

if i could upload music, you'd see posts of it. seeing as how i haven't posted anything means i cannot post music nor can i rip music. even if i did, i don't have XBox live & therefore, i dont have access to DLC. I also do not have the Game Of The Year edition bournekiller has. all of this means i have no way of obtaining DLC music. however, if someone else can upload it separately, that'd work.

out of pure curiousity, if i did upload it, exactly what might u do?

I'm basically playing the whole game with only music (dialogue and sfx at zero volume) and recording gameplay vids with FRAPS 3.1. Once i know the location of the songs i convert the whole thing to WAV,1536kbps and 48,000Hz. The quality of my rip is going to be very high. Please tell me now if u want an OGG or MP3 rip. The only video i cannot get without SFX is the Batmobile Drive To Arkham that starts the game. I open another saved game, switch off sfx and dialogue, and when i start a new game in another slot the sound comes on... the rain, police sirens and batmobile's engine are impossible to remove... there is no dialogue in the XBOX360 rip, but it's still annoying as hell.

@NCFirebolt: u probably can't remove SFX from the Batmobile Drive because it is a cut scene. Leave cut scenes alone for now. Dialogue & SFX can be completely removed from the game itself so I suggest u work on that now & just forget the cut scenes since u can't remove the SFX, we'll barely be able to hear any music from there with all the dialogue & SFX going on.

@bournekiller: Good question lol. Obviously the actual game cover is a must but that can be found anywhere. I wouldn't mind seeing The Batmobile Drive, The Bat Signal, Batman purched on a gargoyle, for the first time, he back of Batman's head as he walks up & views Arkham Island, Bat Plane, using his gadgets, Batman gliding. There is a certain part in the game where your glide is lasts very long - I think it's the longest time in the game you glide. I just cannot remember where it is. You have to glide to progress in the game. It's when you go from hill to hill, gliding onto the first one & zip lining to another. I don't know how else to describe it. I'll get back 2 u on that if I can get anymore info on it. If u manage to figure it out, great but sorry I couldn't give any more info now.

You have to glide to progress in the game. It's when you go from hill to hill, gliding onto the first one & zip lining to another. I don't know how else to describe it. I'll get back 2 u on that if I can get anymore info on it. If u manage to figure it out, great but sorry I couldn't give any more info now.

I have the album cover ready, and as for cutscenes, mine are COMPLETELY CLEAN, free from SFX and dialogue (except the intro Batmobile drive scene)... I am right now on Arkham Island after defeating Bane. Hopefully the whole process of recording, converting and mixing it correctly shouldn't take very long.

This is my cover for the soundtrack: NCFireBolt21 on deviantART (http://ncfirebolt21.deviantart.com/#/d3axjrt)

PS. The OST is going to be correctly in sequence with the game (CHRONOLOGICAL!) I won't let you guys or anyone else down! I give you my word, you are going to be more than satisfied when u hear it for urselves...

cool! can't wait! what about track names? i can help with that a little bit but not much. u & bourne may be better off at it. idk y Intro scene isn't working then. U sually when I ask for cut scenes, I always get the response I told u - SFX/dialogue can't be removed. Seeing as how u did this, can u try to upload 2 me a CLEAN & CLEAR of SFX/dialogue of Ultimate Alliance cut scenes (games 1 & 2)? no rush though. I'd like 2 versions of The Watcher scene from the 1st game. One clean, other as it normally is. I'd really like these in WAV but again, OGG is ok too as its easier 2 work with 4 u.

@bournekiller: by chance, do u know of the gliding part i was talking about? i know its towards the end. before or after Croc level. you're on some hill & u have to get to another hill via longest glide in the game. then i think u have to line launch onto another hill i think. idk even im confused. i know what im talking about is the game. just dont know if im saying it the right way lol.

OK, i just got past the Batcave Glide and there's ABSOLUTELY NO CLEAN VERSION of the song! And I'm playing the game without SFX and dialogue... how the hell did that happen? U guys (Phenom/Bourne/OrangeC) and I need to find a good version of the BatCave Glide (the clip where Batman just glides to the entrance without any SFX, the raindrops, the cape and the computer can be heard distinctly)...

Ps. I don't have Marvel Ultimate Alliance and making the Batman Arkham Asylum OST is a painstaking effort but it's an awesome soundtrack. If someone did this before me, I wouldn't have this problem.

As for tracknames, I'll make mine based on the situation or the Windows Live reward/trophy/achievement.

phenomangel

Track names based on situation is better IMO. On the Main Title, Just call it Main Title/Menu. Boss Fight, just call it Boss Fight: villain's name. U know like that, much easier than trophies.

''If someone did this before me, I wouldn't have this problem.''

if someone did what 4 u?

The Bat Cave Glide......if u can't do anything about it, if it's just cpu, raindrops, cape SFX, then it's minimal & we should still be allowed to hear the music if that's the only SFX. I had videos that had SFX - fire, wood falling, screaming, thunder/lighting, one had combat & screeching car. Using Audacity, I was able to eliminate most of the SFX. Only the combat was heard but it was toned down as if it was never there. I used Vocal Remover even though the music had no actual vocals. U should google SFX/Dialogue remover, download some different programs & see which is best. i really don't know how else 2 help u. if i knew how to do this & knew how to rip, i'd already have a custom ost on this site.

MUA......the cut scene I am talking about is on youtube so u don't need to have the game. but nevermind, i can get the actual cut scene via Youtube 2 MP3. idk if Audacity (or any other program) would eliminate the dialogue/SFX though.....doesn't really work with mp4 videos idk y as things work well with avi videos....but whatever, don't worry about it.

i beat the game & have since sold it (in favor of the upcoming Arkham City game, saving up for it now) so idk.

can u or bournekiller help with this though (and yes, i have been googling & downloading different programs):

If someone had done the job of giving proper tracknames and labelling the OST in chronological order then it wouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise, its fine.
Now to get on with the remaining 3/4's of the OST.

Well, once you upload the ost, ask for help with labelling. im sure someone will. ill def label the tracks i recognize. i need 2 hear it first though. can't expect someone to label tracks without listening to them as your ost may be ripped differently. for instance, OrangeC has a lot of tracks while Hangman compressed them into 40. depends on how many tracks u have & how many cues each of your tracks has.

u said u removed the sfx & dialogue from the cut scenes except the intro. how?

I told you so many times, I'm playing the game with SFX-DIALOGUE VOLUME AT ZERO LEVEL!
Didn't mean to sound harsh, but i think because I'm playing a cracked version of AA i can't get rid of the SFX in the Batcave Glide... anyway, i'm way past that... now i'm on Scarecrow's 2nd nightmare where Bruce watches his parents get killed...

I know where that part of the game is. Yes it is after croc and after ivy attacks the batcave. You use the ultra batclaw to pull down and you find yourself here. The music tracks from the 200 plus soundtrack called the reveal an background BGM3 and BGM4_2. It is the longest glide you have in story. The longest one you can have is where you can glide off the clock tower in arkham east.

I'm excited for this. Is this a gamerip. There were some files missing from the 200 plus version. I'm excited for the music from the cutscenes. Another question I have- can you get the music from the challenge maps even the joker challenge maps? Not all of them are the same. The sewer bat map for joker is completely new and is unused in the game.

My recommendation for tracklistinf can be quotes or the names of the rooms. Thanks guys for working on this, and I can't wait for the release

sorry for the rant but.....sucks that Joker & Kratos are PS3 exclusives for AA & MK. Kratos I can understand as GOW is but shouldn't be IMO a PS exclusive but Xbox owners should have an exclusive character for MK to make things fair. But The Joker a PS3 exclusive I cannot support. TO compensate for Xbox owners, only they should be able to unlock The Joker in AC. Making things exclusive to PS3 IMO puts down 360 which is unfair as both are good systems.

@NcFirebolt: easy, no need to get harsh. maybe the cracked version is the reason. like i said, idk. good that youre past that.

@Jedi Guardian: thanks for that info. He's making a custom ost. I believe it will be complete. I see no other reason why else would he play through the whole game with zero SFX/dialogue? if I had to choose between quotes or names of rooms, I'd say quotes, rooms & Boss Fights should be track names so it's easiest to identify. Example: Boss Fight: Titan Joker, Titan Ivy, Bane, Croc, Scarecrow. For rooms, The Bat Cave. Also Missons could work a track names too. Example: Protect The Batmobile or Get To Joker's Party.

And for those rips you want, I suggest suggesting them as the Game Requests section. You get replies faster that way.

I will not speak for Firebolt. But I'm sure he'd welcome your guide. He seems to be pretty far into the game though. I do have 3 questions about the line-in & wouldn't mind a detailed guide myself actually.

1. Would he have to play through the game again to get the music?

2. Can he get every cue in the game from the line-in?

3. How good exactly is the quality?

4. Is it easy for a beginner who's never ripped before?

5. Please tell everything he'd need to rip with the line-in - any other supplies/materials.

Thanks for offering.

@Phenomangel.

If he rips the actual files out of the game then he doesn't need to worry about recording anything other then comparing tracks and finding out track titles.

Now here is how i did it.

1. Find all Umap files from the game thats installed to the pc. If its the 360 version. Then find all .xxx files and put them all into one folder.

2. Download these tools.
http://hcs64.com/files/fsbii07.zip
http://www.gildor.org/down/16/umodel/extract.zip

3. Use this batch

for %%i in (*.umap) do extract.exe "%%i" save into notepad and save as .bat into the same folder as the umaps, extract.exe then run the bat and let it extract every single umap into its own folders. NOTE: if its the 360 xxx files then just change the umap extension in the bat to xxx.

4. Once everything is done extracting then just go to the windows explorer search and search .soundnodefmodex (i forgot the extension name to those) these are your sound banks. The ones mostly with MUS_ are the musics but there could be other music ones without that prefix, anyways the filename might give you a clue as to which ones are music or not. Once you have isolated the ones you want move those to its own folder.

5. Extract fsbii.exe to the folder with the music files and copy this bat code into notepad
for %%i in (*.soundnodefmodex) do fsbii.exe "%%i" save it again as .bat into the folder with fsbii.exe and run the batch and it should spit out the fsb files.

6. Doiwnload http://hcs64.com/files/fsb_mpeg012.zip and unzip into where the fsb's are. use this bat with it
for %%i in (*fsb) do fsb_mpeg.exe "%%i" then it should finally convert the fsb's into mp3 files.NOTE: some might not convert, if some don't then add -p 4 at the end of the batch line code and try it on those files.

And that should be it. let me know if you have problems. :)

OK, this thing looks complex, but I'm willing to give it a shot...
Orange, I've never ripped anything in my life, so I'm gonna try to do it... thx a lot for ur guide.

Phenom, Orange understands my whole plan. I'm just recording my gameplay to figure out what song goes where... and since I'm recording the WAV at 1536kbps/48,000Hz, The quality of the OST will be almost lossless.

Now, onto the Batcave Glide, my favourite song in the game. I tried using GoldWave to remove the SFX but the last 10 seconds (after the security scanner verifies it is Batman), there seem to be no vocals to remove... I would've uploaded it as a test to show u guys but it was sounding weird.

Now Orange, if i rip all those songs, the end result is going to be Abaddon's 212 track rip. Your XBOX360rip has 262 tracks, that includes death stingers, reveals and complete mixes. Your rip is more helpful. And thx a lot for ur gamerip, time and effort... and for actually looking at this thread...

And I have this RAD video player... i just got it... the music is not mixed with any of the cutscenes... SFX is there, yes, no dialogue and music is only there for the Batmobile intro...

Thx 4 the feedback guys!
Honestly, Phenom, nothing much went into it, i used a program called GoldWave (it's HIGHLY recommended)... u can mix, cut out, insert sounds of any kind (almost all formats work with it, very similar to Adobe Audition but Audition lacks the ease of controls...)
Actually, i've tried to listen to it on my phone, it lacks treble... i'll try to fix it =(

JediGuardian, the OST is going to be in OGG, I can't afford to upload 4 GIG of music in .WAV! I'm on a internet plan over here!
And that's just the approx. amt, I've almost finished the game, just the Throne Room and Joker are left... =D

I've been on the FFshrine for over a year now and I've not even started a SINGLE thread. Which is why B:AA's OST is going to be a fresh and complete thread for stuff related to only this. And it's a great way to prepare for Arkham City!
The detailed track list will on the new thread as soon as possible.

DO NOTE: I'm uploading the OST in several archives because MediaFire only supports a 100MB per file. Uploading single files larger than 50MB in the past have always failed me.
It'll take time to get the full thing up, but it'll be worth it.

Sorry for the intrusion, but if you plan to upload the archives into MediaFire, add Recovery record to them, so one can try to repair them. MediaFire has got an habit of corrupting the uploads. You can use sites like Mirrorcreator - Upload files to multiple file sharing sites (http://www.mirrorcreator.com/) or FlameUpload | Upload Everywhere! And guys, I forgot to mention, quite a number of tracks ARE going to have SFX in them. Mainly because there are no SFX-free versions of them.
Here's a list of everything I can remember that has SFX.

1. Batmobile Drive To Arkham Asylum (Intro Movie) + Joker's Drive To Arkham (Scarecrow Nightmare #3)
2. Poison Ivy defeat
3. Bane defeat
4. Joker final defeat
5. Epilogue (The final cutscene depending on whose hand grabs the Titan...)

These are just a few of what I can remember at this point of time. Otherwise, the OST is in nearly-lossless. The endings to the songs are perfect (no looping, an actual ending will be there) and the mixing will be nothing short of flawless.

As far as DLC music goes, I will have to get a copy of the GOTY to find out the music used in the DLC.

''As far as DLC music goes, I will have to get a copy of the GOTY to find out the music used in the DLC.''

maybe Bournekiller can help. I thought the rip he originally intended to do would have included the DLC, no? Maybe ask cuz I'm sure.

Do those cut scenes have any gunshots, fire (whether it's explosions/bombs,), screeching car (i guess yes for Joker Drive lol) or anything crazy??

I strongly suggest multi-upload or flame upload. Sad thing about MediaFire is in my personal experience, links die really fast which is why I thinkk the Recovery was suggested (good suggestion btw!!). Good thing is though free users don't have 2 wait 2 have download multiple files as once unlike rapidhare (which i now hate lol), filefacory, depositfiles, megaupload, etc.

what about sharbee anyone? hows that? better than multi/flame upload?

OGG much better considering Firebolt's internet plan & he is the ripper so we need to consider him/her. OGG can be converted to lossless....i think. If u plan to burn the ost to disc, this makes sense to do so no more quality is lost if u re-rip the cd to a cpu later on. Each time u rip any cd to cpu in mp3, ogg, or lossy formats, quality diminishes somewhat. i know that from experience which is why i rip cds in lossless especially WAV or Apple Lossless for IPOD purposes.

@NcFirebolt:

Yes, there are weird sounds, like Ivy screaming like an idiot when Batman gels up her plant and detonates it...
Bane's defeat: the batmobile, breaking building and pipes can be heard... playing the game again for the umpteenth time with SFX volume on 2/10 to see if music will play correctly since I have a cracked version of AA...

PS. I'm a guy... now which girl would call herself Firebolt?!??

Guys, i have bad news. My external hard drive got corrupted. I don't know how long compiling the OST will take. I have OrangeC's XBOX 360 rip on my C Drive. Which is perfectly fine. Problem is, I lost all my recorded audio with FRAPS... so now i have to pla the game for a 15th time and find out the order of the songs... =(

well...good luck. :/ At least we are getting close to the summer if you needed time.

Is it possible if two tracks tracks of one scene? One can have sfx and one without. This is at the beginning. It is the elevator scene. The music is playing. The elevator door opens and you hear the intercom chime. The music (batman/arkham's theme) then changes to the key of the chime. If that's how I remember it, is this possible please? Thanks

Windows 7 really ticks me off... in a matter of an hour i'm giving in my comp for a complete format and installation of windows 7 again... hopefully, my itunes will stop crashing, my programs will work and my music won't give trouble when i hit the get info button!

OK, as for what JediGuardian has asked, yes, in some cases like the BatCave Glide earlier in the forum, there will be doubles of stuff, one without SFX (as clean as possible) and the other will be the original sound file.

And since my comp is being formatted, i highly doubt my Windows Live profile will stay intact... which means, back to square one for the 17th time! infuriating...

By the way, few questions for everyone... pls hit reply quote so I know u want it or not...

1. Do u guys want me to combine everything in the form of "Suites"? For example, let's take a certain location, the Batcave... do u want me to combine the BatCave Glide + the End Credits theme (it's the same music where Batman figures out Dr. Young's formula is missing and heads to the Sewers)? Because the BatCave Glide has SFX, I don't want to kill the track for some people...

2. RELATED TO Q1, If u want me to make the "Suites", do u want me to change the order of the songs? Or keep it in chronological order?

3. How long should the tracks be? 4 mins or 8 mins?
For example, in challenge combat music, Round 1 will only have drums, Round 2 will have violins, Round 3 will have extra percussion and Round 4 includes the choir and will include the full mix with the previous 3 layers or music.

1- A couple of scenes should be combined like the boss fights minus croc. Example- (using 200+ rip track names) Throne Room & Breaking News as one and BossJoker03 till Batwing to Gotham.

What I think of instead of the style of suites it should be set up like the credits. There are the chronological ordered tracks and the credits has some of these tracks forming. I am basically asking for duplicates. Most of the time suites in soundtracks aren't in chronological order. They have the characters theme but the music doesnt appear again in the soundtrack (also similar to a concert performance)

You can make suites on the side from Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Joker, Bane, Batman- stealth to combat. Some good tracks could be IntroPt1- right before Joker toxin filled room), MAXB3 Leave, the forensic trails, joker on cell and the prototype titan battle would make some good suites. I hope I wasnt confusing.

2. RELATED TO Q1, If u want me to make the "Suites", do u want me to change the order of the songs? Or keep it in chronological order?

2- Same order please, see response to Q1.

3- I think it can be as long as 15 minutes but I dont think there is anything that can last that long. I think 8 to 12 minutes is enough.

Round 1 is short (1 min), round 2 (2 min) is a bit longer, Round 3 can be shorter (2 min) (fewer thugs) but Round 4 should last awhile (4 min). I think the challenge modes can be 6 to 8 minutes. Especially 8 for Extreme.

Invisible Predator (stealth) is a hard one. There are three mixes and I think it is possible to go back from the third mix to the second mix. First mix (1 min), Second mix (1 1/2 min - 2 min), Third mix (2 1/2 min), but one thing that could be nice is a smooth transition between most of these tracks (mixes).

omg no. please do not combine. i hate suites. i like separated tracks.

2. RELATED TO Q1, If u want me to make the "Suites", do u want me to change the order of the songs? Or keep it in chronological order?

guessing by chronological order, you mean the in game order? in other words, when it appears in the game. if you answer yes to that question, then yes.

3. How long should the tracks be? 4 mins or 8 mins?
For example, in challenge combat music, Round 1 will only have drums, Round 2 will have violins, Round 3 will have extra percussion and Round 4 includes the choir and will include the full mix with the previous 3 layers or music.

instead of all that, you should just do 4 separate tracks. Like this:

1. Combat - Round 1 or First Round,

2, Combat - Round 2 or Second Round,

3. Combat - Round 3 or Third Round,

4. Combat - Round 4 or Fourth Round.

If not, the Combat tracks will seem like a suite since it'd all be in one track. If you have everything in one track, can you when you have PM them to me as I have them above (as 4 separate tracks)? Of course, it would save you tome from PMing by just keeping them as 4 separate tracks now. People will still have everything. They'd just be in separate tracks which means IMO, it'd be identified faster & if anyone liked a certain part, they can get to it easier because of it's all one track, the track will be longer whereas if they are separate, they're shorter. Know what I mean?

I thank you for asking.

I request please to have suites on the side as extras while still having all of the tracks in chronological order. Im fine with longer tracks. E.T.has a 15 min. track and the dark knight had a 16 min. track.

It's because some of the tracks will be short and I would rather hear a whole scene or room in one track. Listening time would be longer. It's mainly because of the combat tracks. It's like stopping the fight to change the music.

I wouldnt consider the combat or stealth tracks as suites because suites have all of the cues of one character. The cues aren't in order of appearance in a game or a movie. For example there is the credits. The cues are composed of the scenes of leaving the batcave both times, main menu theme and grappling up to the top of intensive treatment (after croc, stopping the Titan flow into Gotham Rivet and beating the last alone Titan). This is a suite.

The views are really conflicting now... i can't please everyone now, can I?

Here's hows things are going to go down.
1. Combat Challenge tracks are going to be 4-5 mins maximum with Round1, Round2 etc. lasting only 1 minute each. Plus, there's a clean ending (no fade out) for most of the combat tracks. And I did say MOST, not all.
2. Predator Challenge tracks will be 6-8 minutes depending on whether u want the acoustic layer (everything except harsh instruments like the cymbals and drums) included or not.
3. The whole "Suites" thing is a really good idea, I mean, with every expanded score I have (Spider-Man 2 & 3, Batman Begins + The Dark Knight Recording Sessions), there's always alternate cues, rejected versions and complete suites which last at least a good 7-8 mins.

One fairly good example of a complete "character suite" is a track called "Poisoned Ivy", which MAY/MAY NOT be included depending on what u guys want. The intro will be the meeting at "The Green Mile" in the Penitentiary, the 2nd part will be Batman finding out that the titan plants have grown on Arkham Island (after coming out of the Botanical Gardens), the 3rd part will be the plants attacking the Batcave while Batman makes the formula and the final part will be the battle in the Elizabeth Arkham Greenhouse.
If u consider what I've mentioned including in the "Poisoned Ivy" track, the whole thing comes up to 10-12 mins at least.
BUT THERE'S A CATCH. THE ENDING HAS HORRIBLE SFX. (Like i told phenom, when Ivy's shell gets bataranged, something explodes and the whole greenhouse falls apart)
BELIEVE ME, IT'S THAT HORRIBLE.
So if u want suites, tell me right away before i begin actual work on the OST. Now I'm playing the game again to find out the order of the music...

@ phenomangel- Ive been trying to say that I want the separate tracks and character suites the whole time

@firebolt- No you can't please everybody. The main reason I wanted the tracks combined was for the transitions and an ending to the combat. Will the boss fights all be one?

Yes I'm interested in the character suites. Is it possible if you could have two separate files. The chronological ordered tracks and the second file can have as many character suites as you would like to do. I hope it isn't too much work.

And I know what you mean about poison ivy, batgel going off, giant plant smashing into glass window three times combined with combined with ivy's screaming definitely was a mess. Lol im going to have to turn down the volume for that one because the screaming is awkward. (wonder what the studio recorder was thinking)

Bane is going to be this way, not sure about croc ending, scarecrow is going to have sound effects of croc. Joker's actually wouldn't be too bad.

OK, i've come down to a decision. There's going to be character suites and actual tracks. Suites are going to be in a separate disc, (if i have to do it like that, I'm making the CD thru iTunes... i'll explain after making the new BAA OST thread)

And by the way, Killer Croc's suite is the only clean thing in the entire game. It's barely like 2-3 mins, if u include him jumping up from the water and trying to grab Batman and then that chase where Croc smashes the wodden planks...
At the end of the Joker fight, where Batman lays the final blow with explosive gel in this right hand... there IS SFX. And for the ending with the Batwing. And the epilogue whee Bane/Croc/Scarecrow grabs the titan.

My progress in the game: I'm headed to Poison Ivy in the greenhouse...

I mean, like Gazel & Jedi said, in the end, its your rip. Do it how you wish. If we like it, great. If not, it's our problem & we either have to deal with it or learn how to rip ourselves. SFX is a bad problem, but like I said, I will put both the original and my clean SFX free edit also. So there will be doubles in the archives when I upload them...

I got done with the game. Now if i decide to rip the UMAP and UPK files, there's a slight possibility I can get SFX-free versions of the cutscene songs... some of them are already SFX-free, like Throne Room, Breaking News and Harley Killing Dr. Young...
And others like the Harley reveal, Gordon kidnapped have SFX. I'm going to try something out here.

Its DIALOGUE-FREE. Which is good. Now the SFX is a problem... if u have OrangeC's XBOX360 rip, u have the "MUS_MOV-*moviename*.ogg" where SFX is present and music volume is very low... which sux. If the SFX is inseparable from the music, then we'll have to do without it, most games like B:AA and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (both released by Eidos) always have this feature... =(
And every game that releases under Eidos NEVER gets a soundtrack album release due to some contract issues... it's happened with Tomb Raider... I mean, for 15 years, the franchise has been alive and well and u can't give us a decent OST?

Well I hope i can get the SFX-free versions of the MOV sequences.

And one last thing, make sure u download the DFX-plugin (cracked one if u can't buy it) for Windows Media Player 12... it's an excellent plugin and if u listen to the BatCave glide (my edit) with it, u'll hear absolutely no SFX... =D

I don't have Orange's rip.

Yea. They should give us an OST. But at the same time, a lot of game OST tracks are remixed tracks and/or re-arranged.

Let me know if the SFX free thing works out or not with the UMAP and UPK files. Like I said, if there's a slight possibility as u said that this will make SFX free, give it a shot.

UPDATE:
Managed to extract music from the PC version of AA. Worst part of it is that its all Mp3 all bitrate is 160 kbps. which is terrible quality. Not satisfied with my rip so i will go on to make the OST with my .WAV files ripped from the FRAPS gameplay vids and OrangeC's OST.
And since OGG is also lossy, i'm considering uploading the OST in MP3, OGG and WAV.

NEW UPDATE:
1. The OST is now being worked on in LOSSLESS (.WAV). Quite a majority of stuff is missing from the XBOX360rip and when i ripped the PC version, a lot of stuff went missing... for example, i'm not able to get any of the layers from the Titan Joker music at the Final Battle...
2. Since AAC is less lossy than Mp3 and compresses more, I will not make an Mp3 upload. iTunes/WMP can play MPEG-4/AAC Audio...

Right now, I have finished 10 tracks, working on Track 11 (MOV_joker_on_cell.mp3) the first Venom Henchman...

Really difficult trying to get the intro and ending cues for rescuing Dr. Kellerman & Aaron Cash so part of it is going to be a recording edit.
With Bane's track, the intro and ending cutscene music is separated from the boss battle.
There are 4 tracks for Bane:
1. Bane Unleashed (cutscene after saving Gordon)
2. Baneful Payback Pt.1 (all variations except the drums)
3. Baneful Payback Pt. 2 (drums included)
4. "No Bane, This Time, I Break You!" (cutscene where the Batmobile sends Bane into Arkham ocean)

I recommend u convert to AAC because it's more lossless and uses lesser space than a normal 320kbps mp3.

@The Jedi Guardian: No offense but why would u want lossy music on your ipod? WAV is lossless. Only downside is it takes up a lot of space but that can easily be taken care of cuz u could just convert WAV to apple lossless which is pretty much the same as they're both lossless but Apple Lossless takes up less space than WAV. if you're gonna have lossy music in your ipod, at least use ogg as its less lossy than mp3. just a suggestion.

as for converters.....FormatFactory & dbpoweramp are good suggestions. two other ones are foobar & dvd video soft all in one.

@ MiLO: no offense to you either but why look at a batman music thread if u dont have much interest in it? why dont u anyway? batman music is pretty epic & awesome.

@NcFireBolt: so im confused now. your rip is no longer gonna be used at all? u should at least use your dialogue/sfx free stuff, most especially dialogue free cut scenes. what about stuff from the GOTY edition? is Orange's rip complete? Get his New And Better Rip. Someone posted Megaupload links o nthis thread as the rapid share ones are dead. im just confused as to the ost's content, bit rate, the sources that are being used, and so on.....

@ phenomangel: I must admit it was more interesting to see this project getting somewhere, that the actual music itself.
Nothing against the score, and i'm sure its great stuff, but i'm simply interested in other things right now.

Just wanted to give NCFirebolt21 a little morale boost, showing that even not a batman's fan was keeping an eye on efforts in this thread.

yea im glad it is considering the hard work it took for the composers to make the score, for it to be ripped & uploaded here, and for someone (that being Firebolt) to make a custom ost by gathering from various sources.

im not angry & hope i havent offended u. i was just wondering why someone wasnt interested much or at all of batman music. idk i got the impression tat u never liked it or never will. what about it dont u like? a lot of people i know who like classical music like batman music even the ones who arent batman fans. that says a lot.

''Just wanted to give NCFirebolt21 a little morale boost, showing that even not a batman's fan was keeping an eye on efforts in this thread.''

nice of u to offer morale support. u dont have to be a batman fan to like the music. i hate it when someones asked why do u like this or how can u listen to this and not be a - insert name here - fan?

example: for me, people are always saying "You like Fresh Prince but you're not a fan of rap music" or the other way around. i dont have to like rap music to like the show. i liek the show cuz i find it funny except when certain themes are inserted like when Will makes fun of Uncle Phil's weight or Carlton's height, when Will didn't wanna go to the dance with Dee-Dee (played by Queen Latifah) because of her weight, the episode where Will & Carlton got arrested by cops while driving to Palm Springs as well as when Carlton got rejected from a fraternity. Other than those "special" episodes, the series was funny so i liked it even though i don't like rap music.

OK... quite a bit happened around here... anyway, Milo, if ur not a fan of Batman music, give this album a shot... I know u hate it because of Elfman (honestly i cannot even remember even a single melody from the 1989 movie and I don't blame you for that... Zimmer on the hand managed to impress me wih Molossus...)

The OST is going to be very big in number of tracks... I'm on the Sewers (after BatCave Glide) and let's say this is like, 30% of the story and I'm already at Track 45. The full thing may come up to 150 tracks... =(
but it'll be worth it =D

Phenom,
I didn't say anything about my rip not getting uploaded... I won't upload it in Mp3, i will upload it in AAC (both are WMP and iTunes compatible) and WAV (FLAC is also lossy...)
So one lossless and one somewhat lossy rip. =D

FLAC is not lossy, it makes the file smaller in size, but also allow you to recreate the original uncompressed file through a simple conversion process. Think of it as a kind of .zip/.rar for audio data.

thanks guys, the reason I am asking is because I am a dummy about knowing which is better. I didnt even know that mp3 was "outdated" either.

I don't know what other formats can work for iPods except ACC which you just told me. I don't know what lossless, flac, ogg, and wav are except that they are different formats.

@FireBolt: We all have our opinions & should respect them. On the subject of your quote above, We'll have to agree to disagree.

@Jedi: To make it simple, either convert FLAC to WAV or Apple Lossless (recommended for being lossless & taking up less space than WAV).

@Phenom: Yup, every1 has a different opinion... and I'm taking a wild guess u like the Elfman albums? I'll give 'em a shot, but not at the moment while I'm busy with Asylum... (this is a pest! I hope Nick Arundel can release at least 45 mins of the score in the Collector's Edition of Arkham City... they did that for Tomb Raider Anniversary... @Leon: Thx for the advice mate... I guess a .FLAC instead of a .WAV upload won't hurt anybody... =D and make sure u get the album when i put it up!

GUYS, spread the word, seriously, everyone is just getting Abaddon's 212 track rip or Hagman1983's rip and that just annoys me... if people want the real deal... I'm gonna give it to them... I may not get to play Arkham City (because i'm starting coll in July)... so don't expect me to go through the effort but i'm hoping someone will take the initiative to go through what i did for the Arkham Asylum OST...

Although I'm not an audiophile and can live with MP3s, I have the urge to tell you that FLAC actually IS losless.
It's practically a compressed WAV file that gets decompressed on the fly when played.

Still, I am looking forward to your rip. I seriously NEED this OST :)

theres a lot of video game music that needs to be released. Arkham is def one of em. I wouldnt say that Arkham City music needs to be released just yet. it depends on how good the music is and/or how it compares to Asylum. chances are it'll be good but never having listened to it, far too early & unfair to say its gonna be good/bad for sure. if it was bad & it was released, people would say "If bad music like City could be released, why couldnt they release an Asylum cd?" or something like that u know?

as for the elfman/zimmer scores.....im gonna use aspects from/of the films as example(s) to explain my overall opinion because thats just the best way to do it.
Batman, Joker, Gordon, Bruce's love interest, Batmobile, they've all had appearances in Nolan's films as well as Burton's. People say Bale was a better Batman than Keaton. Others say Keaton was better. MANY say Heath Ledger (r.i.p.) was a far better Joker than Nicholson. I've heard and read people trash The Tumbler (The Batmobile from Nolan's films) because it's a tank, not a car. People loved Katie Holmes, thought TDK's Rachael (forgot actresses' name) wasn't as good but also thought both were better than Vicki Vale because of Kim Basinger's over acting. Some people thought Oldman was good as Gordon. Others thought Pat Hingle (r.i.p.) was. But me....I think everything was good. And I mean EVERY THING (actors/actresses, scenes, portrayals of heroes/villains, costumes, Batmobiles, etc etc etc etc). I do not care or feel the need/desire to compare as 1989 & Returns are from different eras than Begins/TDK. People who loved Burton's films likely think differently to some degree than those who liked Nolans. The same can be said about the music. I've never heard of Zimmer/Newton before Begins. I think their work on Begins & TDK are very very well done. But I feel the same way about Danny Elfman's take on 1989 & Returns.....especially since he said they were hard films to score & had a difficult time with them. It doesn't matter to me which cds have more better tracks. I only care about the tracks I like & if I was asked to compare a track I like from 1989 or Returns to a track I like in Begins or TDK, even pinned down to the mat or pushed against a wall, I would not be able to answer which is better because I love them both equally. Same goes for the films themselves. So yes Firebolt, I do like the Elfman scores. But I like the Zimmer scores just as much.

''Thx for the advice mate... I guess a .FLAC instead of a .WAV upload won't hurt anybody... =D and make sure u get the album when i put it up!''

yea they're both lossless. ill just convert to wav, put in itunes & create Apple Lossless versions so ill have lossless music on my ipod w/o having to worry about space being taken up.

''GUYS, spread the word, seriously, everyone is just getting Abaddon's 212 track rip or Hagman1983's rip and that just annoys me... if people want the real deal... I'm gonna give it to them... well someone has to know how to do it (im sure there are others who know how to) & have sufficient time, effort/will & patience to. not everyone does. if i knew how to do it & i had the time, i would have already uploaded custom OSTs of my favorite games whether i like the music or not because i'd wanna help someone who likes music from a certain game to have the pleasure of listening to it w/o having to play the game. its nice & doesnt cost u anything 2 help someone. in fact, i believe u get rewarded for it - self-gratification/satisfaction, confidence, and other things worth more than material (objects) & money

''Same here for me about college.''

well my semester ends in June.....but ill still be working so dont expect me 2 grab the album right away. ill be surprised (happily) if by the time im free, the link is still alive since i expect it to be dead as idk when the hell ill have time to come here & get it. and ill be going back 2 college in August.

@Jedi: oh forgot to mention that if youre like me & care about having lossless music and/or saving as much space as possible: u could either convert to apple lossless or convert to wav & in tunes, create apple lossless versions and delete the wavs. but if u just want mp3s, convert to mp3 & its that simple. in the meantime, i suggest u get dbpoweramp, foobar, all in one dvd videosoft or the converter Firebolt suggested & test them by:

1. downloading flac files from here & convert them to any format u want.
2. put them in itunes.
3. create apple lossless versions.....even if u dont care just to see/know how its done cuz u may care about it later.if u have converted to mp3, listen to the mp3 version as well as the apple lossless version to see if u can hear/notice a difference. if u can, decide which one u want. if u cant, as The Rock says "It Doesn't Matter". - i recommend using stereo speakers as well as headphones (if u dont have headphones, i guess earbuds will have to do though i hate them with an undying/burning passion) because the cpu speakers do not do sound justice IMO especially for music u enjoy. now i never listen to music or watch a good movie on my cpu w/o my stereo speakers and headphones for music & just my speakers for movies. BIG DIFFERENCE. TRUST ME.
4. put em in your ipod & enjoy.

@V-King: I can live w/mp3s but only on certain cases like if something is extremely rare/hard to find/out of print or unreleased but somehow the uploader managed to get a copy. This can pertain to bootlegs or something like Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie Unofficial U.S. OST. Otherwise, I prefer FLAC which of course IS lossless as FLAC stands for Free LOSSLESS Audio Codec.

And yes, the Elfman Batman Theme is very memorable. So much so that the Main Theme & probably the end credits theme to the most memorable Batman animation ever, Batman TAS, was based on & inspired by the Elfman Batman Theme which is as good a compliment as any to it. Shirley Walker (r.i.p.) who composed the music for TAS stated that herself. I like others who worked on the series like Bruce Timm & company stated that too.

UPDATE (27/4/11):
Almost done with the soundtrack... at Track 88 called "Night Glider" where Batman needs to go for that long glide back to the sewers after Ivy attacks the BatCave...
I will have a thorough check of my work once I'm done before the upload, cannot afford to even make the slightest of errors when it comes down to something like this... if people want "complete", they'll get "complete"... so now I can say about 80% of the game is done... all that's left is "Poisoned Ivy" and the Joker tracks... so about 10 tracks...?

UPDATE (17:02)
Forget what i wrote earlier, the whole OST is now complete, well... almost... I forgot to put the Joker drive to Arkham and Escorting Joker seems to be in terrible quality... once I renew my internet plan for May (which gets me 6 gig of transfers for a month) the FLAC OST will be uploaded.

@Phenomangel: Hellbent and dead set because I have the time! I'm laying idle at home! And doing the comparisons between the XBOX360 rip and my rip... quite a lot of tracks weren't mixed right... clicking noises and sudden volume boosts... can't have that on a complete OST... plus i forgot some of the main tracks like the Whiskey Trail and the Forensic Trail... Escorting Joker is the hardest track to mix right now... its not in a single complete OGG file, there are like 7 different OGG files with A1COmplete_mix, MaxC2, ExtraJokerJump, ExtraTensionLoop, ExtraCrocAfterLoop, etc. to combine...

@Icaaruz: Everything will run smoothly... don't worry about it...

yea but still i stand by what i said because u could use that time 2 do other things - look for a job (yes people who havent finished college yet can still get one w/decent salary. im proof of that.) u could play other games (im sure u have friends so even if u dont have any new games, they might). i dont have school or work on weekends so im idle too. yet i dont rip anything. just cuz youre home more than i am doesnt mean youre obligated to anyone to rip a game. besides, ripping takes up a lot of time & youre not supposed to be sitting or staring at a screen for that long. by sitting, you'll eventually have back problems. if u already back problems, they'll just get worse. screens will cause u to have cpu eye strain & too much lighting caused by cpu pr tv will cause u to have sleep problems. i know this because before college & job, i used to be just like u - idle at home. i now have back/vision problems. when i first started college, i just took 2-3 classes just so i could be home longer. but now i wanna finish asap so i take more now.

im not saying dont rip or dont use cpu or dont sit. just saying not to do it too much. its recommended u give your eyes a break from cpu or tv after 1 hour or 2 at maximum and get outdoors so u can get exercise & avoid arthritis. its said people who stay home all the time become lazy while people who are outdoors are more productive. that used to be me.

the most important thing is & should be your health, not a game lol. the people who make the game just want money. they dont care about us. if they did, they'd ask what we want & try to give it to us and that includes an OST. and thats a fact. so while im happy youre putting forth an effort to get us the best OST possible, take care of yourself too. not that im trying to be or play the the role of an overprotective parent or anything lol.

Lol I think it's funny how we went from talking about dedicated to making this to his health. You are right though.

I do want to say that not everyone that helps make a game is just interested in it for the money, not that they dont care about it. There are people who put all their passion and effort into making a game (this doesnt apply to just games but to music, drama-acting and art.). Most people don't show up to their job an say "oh, I have to go to work again" because they are excited about what they are creating. They are proud to be a part of the process and they want to make it the best they can because of the fans. That's what's good about all forms of art, its less about the person and it's the product for the audience. It is the companies that sponsor or pay these studios that care only about the money. They didnt work on it and all they had to worry about was the sales, and when a game is good. They bleed the series dry.

I'm not going overboard with it! I'm only on my comp for 3 hours of a day! Maximum half an hour day goes on FB/Twwitter/Youtube (for comments and pm's) but i'm alright...
And in my country (look to the left of this) i'm living in right now, i'm an expat, just turned 18 and cannot work because i'm not local... rules changed. So i'm a home.
Of course, theres' french classes in the evenings 2 days a week, 2 hours each, and i get away for 4 hours out of my house, a 2 hour walk around the city and piano practice...
My comp isn't my life, guys believe me, the only reason I'm taking the Arkham OST so damn seriously is that I "MAY" retire from gaming overall once i start college...

And Arkham was the ONLY game I felt I had to rip because it had an awesome OST. Now Call of Duty (this relates to Hans Zimmer as he composed for MW2) never had an official score for MW2 until 9 months later because it was Hans Zimmer and it was the fanbase that wanted it. And from what I read it was a 9 hour long gamerip of tracks... reduced to 70 minutes of listening pleasure.

@Firebolt: Ok. Well I'm just lookin out for u cuz pretty much thats how i am.

So u may retire overall once college starts? This either means no Arkham City OR Arkham City next time you have a break from college such as Christmas, Spring Recess 2012 or Summer 2012. Summer will be Arkham City for me. Yeah, it'll be a year old but u know what? I never cared to get the "hottest game" just so i can join in conversations since there's loads of other conversations to engage in. why spend so much money just for that? ill buy it & play it when i want & when i can afford to. who cares of it isnt talked about or talked as much as it was when it first came out? and im talking in general, not just batman.

@ Jedi: youre right. there are people who are dedicated to games, music, movies, or whatever it is that they do with their lives. but while there are some that do care, there are others who do not and i believe (until they prove me wrong) that the majority care only for money. i understand money is needed to live. but u should still care for the fans as they are your costumers & they are the ones who ultimately bring u money. without them, you wouldnt have a penny.

Below is the ESTIMATED track list, its a 110 tracks overall... just some final editing and in 2 weeks the whole FLAC OST should be up, but lately, whenever I've been downloading/uploading to MediaFire my entire comp has frozen with certain files (not all), so I'm not making any promises about a definite date... once I'm done with this, I'll probably work on the Two Thrones complete soundtrack. (If an actual one does not exist.)

Now Arkham Asylum was hard enough, took me nearly a month to get Orange's rip and compare with my personal FRAPS gameplay [(playing the game without SFX and dialogue) (too much hassle)], it would be better if someone else did Arkham City when it comes out because with college starting in mid-July I doubt till Xmas I'll have time to make another custom OST.

UPDATE (05/05/11):
I just managed to get the OFFICIAL Breakout trailer music "Turning Of The Tides (Original Version)" by Future World Music. This version has no choir.
The END CREDITS has 4 songs, Exploration Pt. 1, Exploration Pt. 2, Escorting Joker (01:38 seconds Excerpt from Max_C6)
and

***Exploration Pt. 3*** IS NEW and appears between Pt. 2 and Escorting Joker in the credits.

Killer Croc is the only guy going to have a continuous SUITE because his cues are like 5-10 seconds long and it's annoying to make so 5 different tracks for charging/defeat/spores... so now more editing will done.

Mano-A-Mano (the 1st venom henchman in Intensive Treatment before Gordon gets kidnapped) lacks in treble, the quality is terrible... I cannot fix that.

More updates will come soon. Keep the thread alive and tell me what you think.

I love trailer music most of the time. Hopefully I'll like this one too. Nice job in finding it!! Where did u find it? Does the place u got it from have anymore trailer music for games, tv shows, movies?

According to what u said about the END CREDITS, it should be good so i cant wait.

I agree with Croc being a suite. If I was ripping, I'd probably do the same.

1st venom henchman sounds terrible. well what can u do? if i remember it, i believe the background music heard when u face him is heard in other parts of the game so there may still be hope if im right.

unrelated to the rip. what kinds sucks about the game..... for me:

1. Bane & the henchmen has the same attacks. though Bane can get back some of his energy, considering he's a boss, i'd think they would give him something else like that back breaker he does if u lose to him. that'd be an awesome attack. not complaining at all as he's hard for me enough as it is. im just sayin though.

2. Xbox owners (im one of them) get a slap in the face IMO cuz they can't play as Joker. so they beat the game.....then what? PS3 is a great system. but so is 360. both have their strengths & weaknesses so I'd think everyone would have the same benefits & rewards or rights. PS3 has too many exclusives - GOW seeries, Killzone series, Kratos in the new MK game, Joker in Asylum. Arkham City better have 360 only exclusive - playable Joker once u brat the game to make up for Asylum. I know someone will say stop complaining & get a PS3. well not everyone can afford one. that doesnt mean 360 owners should get shafted. true 360 also has exclusives in its own right but IMO PS3 has more & i just names some of them. I think Mass Effect was a 360 only series but its coming to PS3 or so I've read so that exclusive for 360 is gone.

3. You can't use all of Batman's gadgets - benoculars to zoom in (i know u can zoom in the game), gas bombs....im sure im missing some. U can't use his vehicles either. But that's understandable as basically the whole game or most of it takes place on one Island.

4. Alfred is absent!! He's one of the main characters so I saw no reason for him or any of Batman's allies to be completely absent from the game. At the very least, since PS3 has a playable Joker, 360 owners should have been allowed to play either multi-player (Batman & Robin, Robin & Nightwing, Batman & Nightwing or all 3 together, which means the game is harder depending on how many players. I feel Batgirl should've been included).

5. I didn't like the Bat suit too much. It wasn't bad so I didn't hate it. I guess it's not that appealing to me cuz when I think or talk Batman, I'm always in Tim Burton & TAS modes. Alternate costume selection would've been a nice feature in the game too.

thats about it. other than that, its the best Batman game yet!!!

I just watched the 1989 Batman again yesterday, I pity that the score was mixed at a very low volume, but the movie had an excellent theme by Elfman, i take back what i said.
This whole XBOX vs PS3 deal just got worse with the PSN getting hacked. And its possibly one of the main reasons ME3 has been pushed to 2012 as of yesterday's news.
Honestly, i think the DLC should be the same and equal for all ports, because now its just a money making racket... I mean, the PS3 gets the Batcave Outpost home page, Playable Joker character and challenge maps, XBOX360 gets only Challenge maps and PC gets nothing.
Most people own a PC but the game makers are frickin' greedy about people owning an actual gaming console.

The new Batman from AA, AC and MKvs.DC looks like he's on steroids. Seriously. Everyone can agree on that.
Multiplayer, would have killed the gaming experience. That, is one reason I respect Rocksteady for including MP for this game.

The good thing is that boss battles are one of their priorities for Arkham city. I read an article saying that the boss battles came late in development of the game.

Sony paid for their ps3 exclusive. Microsoft didn't. There currently aren't any exclusives or a. Collectors edition set for a release.

The gas bombs are in the next game, updated gadgets that can be used in combat, and there are some new ones.

Alfred is in the next game because oracle is missing. Rocksteady confirmed there wasn't going to be any multiplayer because they wanted to focus on making the single player story better.

The batsuit was ok. Modern comics are going with the idea that his suit has armor and Kevlar, but it still looks like a suit. I do want alternate costumes too.

The one thing I am excited for the mist in arkham city is gliding around arkham city which is five times bigger than arkham island.
