Hey parker1, are you planning to rip Prisoner of Azkaban with better quality too (besides there are some music missing from the complete download; when Harry enter the Leaky Cauldron for the first time and a flute melodi when Ron and Hermione discuss Scabbers)? (:

You should say if it's recording sessions or DVD rips

When is 'Order of the Phoenix' going to surface? I really, really want that theme playing when Umbridge is drinking tea in her office!

::rolls eyes:: you're all so self entitled. I think that it would also be conversely true that if he'd taken the time to say "recording sessions" then it would stand to reason they would be. seeing as he did not, it isn't.

I'm downloading this only to better understand the score even though its an abysmal failure as a score. Anyone who steps into the shoes of williams while simultaneously stating that he's a hack and knows nothing of how Harry Potter should sound (ie: like an English score) despite it's UNANIMOUS acceptance as one of the most beloved children suites of all time, then they deserve to be tossed into a nest of gondarks as far as I'm concerned.

I'm also remiss for not having thanked you for this work and upload. It can be tedious working on such a task and pleasing everyone. I do thank you for keeping me from having to do it myself.

I think it's important to make the distinction between DVD rips and recording sessions in the link description. Nothing to do with self entitlement

Again in both cases, they should know better. And for the record, there are a few that are triumphs of editing. BrachioInGen did an edit of Attack of the Clones that's the most complete edit known.

The question IF THIS HAS ANY SFX still isn't answered. Someone answer please....

He says that he ripped and edited it himself. I would say it is a safe bet there are at least some fx, as there is no way yet to do a completely clean rip. But, the easiest way to be sure is to download it, and listen. If you don't like it, it is easy enough to delete. Time consuming, I know, but if you need to know that badly, then there ya go.

There are. And dialogue. I downloaded last night and listened to some sample tracks this morning of pieces I knew weren't on the official release. The sound effects and dialogue are like an echo in the background.

See, the thing is I've downloaded this COMPLETE EDITION many times from various different places. I suspected this version would ALSO HAVE the SFX and Extra Stuff that all of us don't want. So that's why I did not want to spend time downloading it or listening to it, to anyone who is concerned.

I don't get why people want a soundtrack that has FX and/or dialogue in it. Might as well just watch the movie. Besides which, any rip like this is basically taking two channels of music (at best) which have the least dialogue and sound effects and putting them out as score. They're rarely great quality. As for labelling it Recording Sessions or not, again there seems to be some confusion. A rip is a rip. If it's clean then that's fantastic, but it's a rip from a DVD or Blu-ray either way. If it has all the score that's in the movie, it's a complete score. A complete score is NOT the recording sessions. Those are the complete recordings, including various takes of many tracks with different arrangements, taken unedited from the sessions of recording.

I don't, actually. Dialogue and major SFX just ruin the score for me, so much so that I'd rather stick with the commercial release that is missing music than to hear all of that background noise.

However, there is the odd rip that actually sounds quite good (like metrotokyo's Tron: Legacy). Sometimes if it's a score I really enjoy I'll download it just to see if it is that diamond in the rough.

I agree on the label thing. And I do not like fx either. But i do understand that for some, the chance to hear their favorite scores whole, even with less than ideal quality, is better than never hearing them. It is just personal taste. And there seem to be a great any who feel this way. Sure they would take a clean leak, but in the meantime, they are willing to settle. And these days, there a few members here proficient enough, that most of the time the dialogue and majority of fx is minimal. I still don't dig them, but I do admit a lot of talent and work goes into the best of them.

Personally I never download anything with SFX myself, but I appreciate those who give it out anyway regardless.

That's not the case since a bunch of stuff has popped up since and he apparently has no intentions of revisiting Star Wars for some time.

Does anyone have a working link for the original upload? Or was that superseded by something else? And did it have SFX?

Thanks in advance :)
