It's pretty bland in all honesty. In the film it acts as the usual nondescript wallpaper - bit of anonymous piano, bit of an electronic beat, slow generic string progressions. The only nice musical moment was a couple of brief appearances by Mozart's Flute and Harp Concerto when Sam is watering his plants (..the whole scenario feels tired and 2nd hand).

Perhaps you should ignore my opinion tho because as the credits rolled a friend turned to me (knowing that scores are my thing) and said "great music".. to which I attempted to stifle a grimace.

Well I've never even heard of this film nor seen a commercial nor trailer etc.

I haven't the foggiest what it is all about LOL

Was it released already to theatres? Is it already out on home video?

God I feel so clueless LOL

I've not yet seen ''Moon''. But I'm looking forward to it. I love psychological thrillers set in space. Films like Sphere, Even Horizon, etcetera. Steven Soderbergh's ''Solaris'' was ace as well.

All I do know is that Sam Rockwell does indeed ROCK! If you haven't already, check him out as William "Wild Bill" Wharton in The Green Mile. Oh my god, what a performance. I am in stitches laughing every time I watch it.

All I wanted me was a little cornbread you Motherfuckers, all I wanted me was a little cornbread!

HAHA! :D

I'd be interested to hear you take on it once you've seen it. Personally, I didn't think it lived up to all the 'pschological-thriller' publicity - without spoiling anything, there's a very literal explanation for everything he goes through.

Many nods to (infinitely greater) films like 2001 and Solaris too if that's your bag.

One thing I did like is that the special effects are rather charmingly 'Red Dwarfish' - and cgi is kept to a bare minimum.

But Rockwell's performace is the film's main strength certainly and, seeing as a good portion of it is shot in extreme close up, his pores have to do most of the acting ;)

The music sounds OK but it's pretty repetitive. I'm sure it will work in the film though. I downloaded the music, gave it a very quick flick through, then watched the trailer. I liked the music in the trailer and it's only now when I listen to the soundtrack again that I realise it's from the soundtrack and not just some trailer music. I must not have payed much attention to the initial 'flick through'.

Nice to see music from the actual film used in a trailer. Rare these days.

As repetitive as the theme may be, I still found it to be a great theme, and one that I enjoyed hearing. I really, really dig this soundtrack, so, thanks for the up, bio!

Plus, I loved the movie.

Haven't seen this film in awhile, and truth be told I can't really remember what the score was like, but having just seen Black Swan recently and downloaded the score from The Fountain, I'm on a bit of a Clint Mansell high. Hopefully the score is as excellent as his others.

As for the film, I found it to be quite good. Certainly not genre-bending or anything else it was hyped to be, but definitely a thoroughly entertaining film, especially when you consider the budget and just how small the scope of the film actually was (it basically took place on one set with one actor, which is pretty amazing when you think about it).

Thanks for this score, bi04zard, and for the many others you have posted on this site. You are indeed quite awesome.
