Does anyone else do this?

Maybe this thread is just to reassure me that I’m not completely crazy, but still I ask the question. When you start playing an FF, whether it’s your first time or not, do you start speaking the lines of the characters, making up voices for each individual character? (This doesn’t apply for FF10, obviously)

I know I do, it’s just a matter of whether you all do. Granted, I give up after a while because it’s hard to remember all the individual accents and such.

Even if you all don’t, I’ll be okay (for those who care).

I don’t say the lines out loud but I definitely hear distinct voices for each character. I don’t think I could play a remake of FF7 or 8 if it had voice acting; I’d spend the entire game saying things like "Since when does Aeris have a squeaky voice?!" or "Since when does Cloud not have a squeaky voice?!" or "FUJIN? SOUND LIKE THAT? RAGE."

Heck, for every RPG I play, for every character, I would make up some weird voice or something out of it. o_O

But mostly the women of RPGs…. forget the men. =P

Um…sometimes. I kind of just read all the characters’ lines in my own voice, and I only do it when I have certain friends over or if my brother is watching me play(since they can’t read as fast as I do XD ).

I sometime say the cool lines.

Sometimes. Whenever I get bored or hyper I’m always making up funny voices. But never for Squall…I dunno, I never spoke for him.

No, but seriously, I pretended Auron had a lisp and talked like a homosexual, Kimarhi always sang his lines in a soprano tone, and Rikku was really a small dog.

Just put it on mute and talk away.

And Tekno wonders why no one will hire him as a voice actor. :p

Yes, i had my own little voices..for like the characters..

I never say anything they say out loud, although I do have voices in my head. It’s not very distinct though.

I do that all the time, but not out loud of course. I was a little worried when FF-10 came out becuase the value of would go down.

I always do what the voices in my head tell me to do… O.o 😀

Tekno, you just made me imagine Rikku shouting out, "Yo quero Taco Bell!" 😉

Anyway, yes, I do imagine character voices all the time. For FF10, I thought they all were pretty fitting, too.

I always imagined Sephiroth as sounding a bit like Seymour but with a little bit of a harder, more dynamic edge to it.

To me, Zidane sounds like Tate Donovan or Billy Cudrup. Youthful but strong. (Tate Donovan was Disney’s Hercules voice, Billy Cudrup did the English version of Prince Ashitaka in Princess Mononoke…)

Squall, for some reason, I almost imagined him sounding like Kevin Bacon. I do NOT know why…

Vivi is that Haley Joel Osmet kid from AI and Sixth Sense.

And I won’t even go into what I think Tseng and Reno sound like. That’ll get way too scary and make no sense whatsoever… Hehehe… 😀

I will agree that I hear the lines sometimes in my head from many Final Fantasy games.

When I have my friends round we play a game where you put voices to the characters of FF7

I remember on my birthday it was past midnight and Barret kept sayin all his lines Ali G style… o_O (I don’t think you should ask…)

And I remember another time we got Sara to be Tifa cuz she can do the sluttyest voice (sorry to all you Tifa fans) 😀

I’m usually Aeris, Marlene and Cait Sith… Yay! I get to do all to cute voices!

I should probably stop drinking so much Chocolate milk…

Same here Skye. I’m always doing it, not always outloud though.

When me and my friends get bore, it can get kinda weird. Sometimes we even edit the lines slightly. (Tidus as Mr. T :D)

sometimes, it can be quite amusing. especially if you give them European accents. Cloud was German, Cid spoke with a thick Russian accent, and Vincent was a Frenchman, lol.

either y’all are crazy or you just get into your games a lot. im guessing the latter for the sake of being nice. i haven’t done this but i have….never mind. also i would like to congradulate mr. corran horn for having the most orig name since me. i also want a fez, among other things.

I invent a voice in my head for each character, but I don’t really do anything out loud unless of course, I’m msting the game. And those are more humorous voices then the voices I really imagine for the characters.

Yeah, i hear their voices. Cloud’s sounds kewl. So does Sabin’s o_O.

nope ….. why everyone else heard those voices but i didn’t ???

i guess i’m lack of imaginations …..
