no problem! as opposed to the original 4cd edit, i added the suites, instead of the same old tracks (this was the 4th CD), making this the definitive edition of HOOK,

this definately deserves a newer, expanded release.

I already had about everything from the music of Hook, but I read you put some tracks with it I wondered what they were.
Those 4 tracks you added.. I don't know where you got them from, but they are wonderfull!!
They are beautifully rearranged, and I dont think they were arranged by John Williams, but the one who did it did a great job. Next to that, those tracks are very beatifully orchestrated!!

how is the sound quality?

Not very high. Under 192kbps.

Its a bit half and half on the first two discs. there are tracks that sound good and tracks that are quite bad. but its the best your gonna get atm as i cannot find this anywhere.

Is there sfx? There was a bootleg with all of the music, transferred from the original master tapes.

I heard this 4CD set is a fake, and the best real material is on the Concorde Edition. So whats the story behind this?

One day I'll post my redo of the score and hopefully that'll tide people over but the quality changes are so dramatic and not all the material is released so it's hard to truly make a nice Hook edit. Over the years so much has changed in preservation that what was BRILLIANT in the past, is below par now

Very much so! I thought I had the four disc but I've had the 1,2, and 3 but not the four, oddly enough.

It is a mix of dvd rip, masters rip, album, etc.

The hard thing is figuring this stuff out. Some of the names are so arbitrary and aren't exactly what they should be.

For example, there is no "Arrival of Tink" alternate. There IS an Alternate take. There are technically three released. Only TWO of which are presented on this set (despite having the cue on there three times hehe)

I should make a thread with a break down when I release my edit... it's so confusing at times.

Yes, it's quite confusing, at least for me. And I haven't still heard this version (I had a different 4CDs version �?), but the Concorde 2CD edition has quite poor sound, even in lossless quality (at least the one I have). I know it's a boot, but it would be awesome to get a 2-3-4CD version with the same quality as the official soundtrack since it's one of the maestro best scores.

i dont think there will be many re-ups the way things are going atm. google is you best friend ;)

...google isn't helpful. especially when you don't have a credit card to buy it on other websites. i'm looking for a FREE version.

i used to have this very soundtrack myself, up until Megaupload was taken down. so i'm just asking Parker1 if he/she could post it on a different, running file sharing website.

Parker1, was (firstly) kind of and idiot, and (secondly) has not been on here for years (April 21 of last year to be exact; people who have been gone that long are probably not coming back). He sure isn't going to re-upload this for you. And you do know that Google can help you find free stuff as well, right? Maybe, not so well now, but a week ago it may have been better. This is a fairly old upload, which means it has to have leaked out of the Shrine somewhere. Most of my stuff has barely been up for a year, and it got all over YouTube and into torrents with a bunch of other stuff that isn't mine...
