The game just came out in Japan. Can anybody provide a rip off a ROM or even a CD (1 or 2 CDs came with the Premium edition of the game) plz?

Neither of the CDs included in the limited edition are the actual soundtrack for the game. The only way to acquire the soundtrack for the game would be to either:
1) wait for a rip of the OST from someone who has the game, or
2) wait until June 24th when the official OST hits in Japan.
I'm hoping we can get the first option in a timely fashion. ;)

I have actually seen some rips on youtube, but no links were provided :(
I'm bumping since the soundtrack is out today and I'd really like a link if anyone tracks it down.

There are some torrents already available but none of them seem to be actually working, no seeds or something.
Was hoping someone else found a working download.

The only torrents I've seen thus far have been the fake ones generated by advertisements based on your search engine results. I'll keep looking, though.
The torrent with the collection of OSTs is fake, it's just using the mistagged gamerips from Court-Records.

Jesus... Doesn't anyone have a copy of it? I don't feel entitled to it, or anything, don't get me wrong about that. I'm just shocked/surprised that no one has it and has uploaded it by now. I mean, we got Dissidia less than a day after release. What's goin on?

Seconded. I need some HQ Gyakuten Kenji awesomeness! Considering that my copy of the game from YesAsia is probably never going to arrive (going on a month as of next Tuesday...), I hope to at least have the music to enjoy.

I honestly couldn't tell you why it hasn't been posted somewhere yet. gamemp3s is usually pretty quick about this stuff, so I'm really surprised that such a high-profile game has yet to receive a soundtrack rip. It makes me sad: I need more Edgeworth in my life. ;_;

It may have reasons that the music is hard to be recorded, don't be so demanding.
For instance, the music files could be in a very strange format that's impossible to decipher. Directly recording also could be hard, if only for the reason of SFX disrupting the music or the music having an odd pattern. Who knows.

To clarify, we're talking about the actual CD release of the OST. A member of a very popular PW/AA message board ripped a number of the tracks from the game itself, but the game rip is incomplete. Moreover, the CD was released a week ago as of tomorrow; it thus strikes me as unusual for such a highly anticipated game to not have its soundtrack ripped and shared immediately upon release.

Just wait, sheesh. You get it for free after all. If you can't wait any longer, buy the game or the OST yourself.

I think it's stupid to argue over this. Let's just wait until someone finally receives it, and let's be thankful that most of us aren't spending money thanks to people who are kind enough to go through the trouble of uploading them.

@ Skunk: No, I understand. And I apologize if I came off as callous or demanding. I think we all are so used to the instant gratification available to us via the Internet that we unknowingly develop a sense of entitlement that rears its ugly head in cases such as this. (Plus, I think I'm just frustrated that my copy of GK still hasn't arrived, and YesAsia is making me wait another week--two weeks after the estimated arrival period--until they will investigate the matter further. ...And there's that impatience once again!) XD
@ Major: Thank you so much! I can't wait for all of the high-quality Edgey goodness. <333

A little credit to the original uploader is a good thing, the guy spends his money and time uploading it for everyone and the least that can be done is give him a little credit in the post, even if it's already included in the upload itself.

Why is there such disparity between FFShrine and GF? Both of those forums do the exact same thing, all we want to have is good music and then we bring these stupid petty squabbles about permissions and rights and that crap. I've shared albums to both sides because it's the right thing to do. At the end of the day though, none of this stuff is really ours, it belongs to the artist that made it and you're trying to put your own stamp on it because you went and clicked "upload".
This is the internet people, shit finds a way around.

Well, there's a difference between posting links somewhere else with giving credit or without.
If people wouldn't have pointed it out, all the credit and thanks would've gone to Major.Dump, who didn't anything else but copy the link and paste it here.
The person who purchased, ripped, tagged and uploaded the whole thing didn't get any credit from him. No "This was provided by Carl from GF" or anything else. Just pooping the link in here and critisizing me for withholding my own rip of the CD because of forceful people.

The last thing anyone should care about in the grand scheme of things is whether or not they are properly thanked because they uploaded something that is not theirs. Surely there are better accomplishments in your life to be proud of and expect thanks and gratitude from. Not being niggly and expecting everyone to file proper thanks to you.
We all love soundtracks to games/TV/film and at the end of the day we really don't care how we got it, just so long as we got it, and it works. Lets be grateful for that. Because the second we start flinging this shit about "Who uploaded" is when we all need to shut up and thank the real artists who made album in the first place.
Red Arremer
07-02-2009, 09:34 PM
That guy also could have not made the effort to do all this shit for free and give the links out. If noone does that, then you'll have to purchase your music anyway.
So, at least thank the uploaders for the effort they made and the money they spent, or the time and work they put into ripping the game directly if there's no official release. It's not natural that someone shares what they purchased with other people they don't even know for free.
The composers and artists of the music are getting paid for their work. The uploaders and rippers don't. So at least say thanks and don't be demanding like the people in this thread. I mean, "Where are the links, XY has been released for a week now! It can't be noone has ripped that yet!" is forceful enough to lead me into so much disgust that I don't want to share with this person.
I always post a thanks into the threads of people I download stuff from (unless I happen to forget it, which rarely happens), and thank them if I get a request fulfilled. That's the least I can do - make the person who uploaded the stuff know that I appreciate their efforts and that they weren't for nothing. Posting "thanks" takes 5 seconds at worst.

It's people acting like this that made some rippers quit the scene.
Seeing your releases downloaded by lots of persons without a single word of gratitude is just annoying.
Carl should be at least credited as he's one of the oldest and most impressive collector out there. If you hang on GF you know how much his kindness have no limit and you certainly know how many soundtrack he's releasing.
Lots of out of print soundtracks you could probably never find anymore.
Anyway, this is a recent album.. but i haven't seen any other place with the album / any other person that ripped that album and give it away..
Since gamemp3s is not as active as before, that release was probably your best luck.

Here's another point to add to this issue of giving credit where credit is due.
Who do you think TRANSLATES the tracklist? That's right. It seems a lot of people have overlooked the fact that most OSTs are in Japanese. If that's the case, you've got three options:
1. Keep the track titles in their Japanese characters; that'll look great on your mp3 player.
2. Replace the titles with "Track 01, Track 02, etc."; hope you don't have two different songs called Track 08 in your collection.
3. Use Google Translator to come up with some clumsy interpretation of the name; it's the equivalent of just making one up.
The rightness or wrongness of downloading game soundtracks may not seem like it should be an issue. After all, it's illegal, and illegal = wrong. However, if I'm gonna spend 40 bucks on a CD that has ONE good song, why can't they translate the tracklist?! Why do I have to go on some random forum and ask for a Romanji translation from anyone willing to do it?! And why couldn't I hear samples of the song before buying it out of pure desperation, only to find out that there isn't even ONE good song?!! That's bullshit!
So people or groups who buy and upload these albums and translate them do deserve credit. They were willing to do what the record companies involved won't do (I haven't seen a copy of SaGa Frontier 2 OST in any CD stores). Thank 'em, or be a douche. It's your call.
By the way, this CD sucks. The music is so awful. I can't believe how many people went crazy over getting it.
