I just listened to it. Man, I can't believe I never heard of this before! It's nice to finally have released versions of Modern Vampires, the Point Pleasant theme, The Fortune Teller and the Honda Commercial (so fun!). Too bad the version of Nacho Libre is the same as the one on the soundtrack (with Jack Black's dialogue). But otherwise, I'm not complaining. ;) (Love the addition of Floop's Song at the end, too -- classic Elfman!)

EDIT: I also would have liked to get a snippet of the infamous "Overeager Overture" or maybe something excerptable from Elfman's supposedly inexcerptable Rabbit & Rogue ballet. Hopefully this means the wheels are in motion for some major releases! :)

It could be custom but the artwork is very well done, looks like a professional work.
Thank you whassamattayou for sharing this, and also for your creative artwork.

It's not real, but it's a nice fan project. See, this is the kind of thing I don't object to. A nice smattering of someone's work. This is the kind of thing that shows what a composer is like, without blatantly offering a bunch of full albums for the world to have, while encouraging people who like what they hear to seek out the actual albums.

Also, a big clue as to why this is fake (aside from the fact that getting clearance to release all these cues from different entities would be near impossible) is the fact that the MCA Soundtracks logo is on there. MCA Soundtracks no longer exists.

Mighty big props for this post/compilation. Its about time that they released a third volume of his work. The first two offer a great selection of his major and lesser known works. I cant wait to dig into your tribute to the ginger one :D

PS: I cant believe your original post got deleted so darn fast! Is any upload service reliable and untouchable?

I'm glad you guys enjoy it. :)

I've been waiting for a third volume of "Music for a Darkened Theatre" since 1996 (when they released the last one). I was tired of waiting, so I made my own. You're right, the series has always been a great selection (or "sampler") of his major and lesser known works, and is a good way of introducing his music to non-fans alike.

I worked very hard on this project for a month (my friend did the artwork, covers, and liner notes) and came up with the best job that I could. There are several rare, unreleased gems I put on here as well (I made sure everything was ripped at 320kbps; there is no re-encoding here!). I hope it is worthy of a third volume, and is accepted as official "canon" to all Danny Elfman/Darkened Theatre fans! :D

I have no idea how my original links got removed so quickly. I'm sure someone reported it...

*gasp* I cant believe its been 13 years since the last compilation! Time flies when your enjoying good music :D

Oh and thats something I couldn't appreciate till I actually downloaded it, the artwork and linear notes are first class! Better than a lot of the professional CDs that get produced, to tell the truth, so your mate deserves a bit of praise too! :)

I'd also like to request a re-up for this. Just got through listening to my Vol 1 and Vol 2 discs. This compilation sounds like it would go well with those.
