I'm not sure how many of you are aware but back in December last year, 18th Decemember to be exact, Free Radical Design the company behind the hit Timesplitters series went into adminstration and had to close it doors. An article with the basics of that is here:
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/free-radical-design-latest-to-face-financial-trouble

Many people thought when this happened it was the end of Timesplitters. A lot of interest was shown in the company including interest from Codemasters and Monumental Games. Neither of them bought it in the end though. A company called Crytek did, in the process saving Free Radical Design and the last 40 staff they had of the original 185. This happened in February 2009 and Free Radical Design became re-named Crytek UK.

I've been researching but I've still been unable to find if Crytek also bought the Timesplitters Franchise from Free Radical and theres been nothing to indicate they have. General speculation in all the articles I've read and come accross indicate that a completetion and release of Timesplitters 4 is still possible in future. Although there is nothing to say it definatly will be made, its just high speculation, theres also not been any confirmation to say it won't.

I've created this thread as a place for everyone to stay updated. Anyone that has anything I can add to this post or knows anything I've not mentioned, feel free to post. Also anyone whos wishes just to discuss anything they've seen from TS4 such as any concept artwork or trailers you've seen. What I know that exists can be seen here:

Also, feel free to discuss the older games, always nice to meet new Timesplitters fans.

Sorry for any typos, its just gone midnight and I can't be bothered to proof read :P

Timesplitters is an absolutely fantastic series in my opinion. Although I'm not a huge fan of the first one [the story mode - if you can call it that, isn't really that good], I LOVE it for multiplayer.

Timesplitters 2 is so fun with friends, and will be for a very long time. I love Future Perfect as well, its a teeny bit more realistic in terms of dynamics and stuff, and I prefer the locations in 2, but it's still a great game, and for me, the story mode is awesome.

I'm hoping for TS4 soon!

Did you make this official, Lewis? If not, it hasn't been sanctioned as such~

Sorry but why is there a problem with me using the word official in the title?

We've had issues with it in the past, it's not personal, I assure you.

Lol dont worry, I'm aware its nothing personal, I've only just joined the forum so it couldn't be :P
I can't see how it could cause a problem but like I said, I'm new. I only intended this thread to be a discussion area anyway so if it needs to be edited, then so be it. I can't actually edit the thread title myself though.
