As it was suggested on another topic, we'll try to gather here all the music that has been released from Batman TAS.
Here is a guide of all the Promo albums that can be found on the net, and of all the cues that the composers have aired on their websites.

This 2-CD set is for sale, so if people download it instead of buying it legally, La-La-Land may decide to never release other volumes...
It's highly worth the price (and it's not very expensive) so please buy it.

in this case it was a long and bumpy road to get the rights because the reuse costs a fortune and there is still dozens of hours of unreleased music left. please remove the links. not everyone thinks 320 mp3 is a shitty quality.

thank you. it was a miracle that even this little volume has been released.i think we all agree that we need more of this.lalaland has currently plans for volume 2 and 3, if it sells enough.maybe even some superman animated then. i guess the deal only counts for shirley walker, lolita ritmanis and michael mccuistion scores,possibly some kristopher carter scores.well, better than nothing.

Indeed so... 95% of what is posted here is available for sale. I have made tentative requests in other threads - not even for the downloads to be removed, only for the downloaders to consider purchasing the album - and have been flamed, accused of working for the RIAA, and generally abused. It's quite bizzare that the moral police have appeared in this thread in such great numbers - not that I object (I quite agree) - I am merely surprised that this post has generated such a vocal outcry when others have been outwardly shared without a care in the world.

This is very true - but let's be absolutely honest; this is the case with most scores released today. They're all labours of love for the producers. I doubt whether there will be much profit made on this set - they do it because they love it.

Surely this amazing sense of morality isn't simply motivated by the thought that if LaLaLand catch this one being pirated then they won't release the rest? Because if it is, that's a source of shame even greater than sharing the album in the first place...

Furthermore, this has been pirated (sadly) from here to Christmas and back again already. It's probably been copied fifty thousand times already. Our moral stance will not contribute in any meaningful way to sales as our throughput here is so low.

Finally, the set is almost sold out anyway. They're having no trouble selling the set. Even despite the massive, widespread piracy that has already occurred. (And had nothing to do with FFshrine.)

I know it's not very "On Topic", but I'd like to say that I always read your posts with pleasure, they're never stupid. Maybe I'm the one that will sound stupid, but I do think that sharing something in a lossy format might help sometimes with the selling. If I liked what I've heard, I'm more than happy to purchase it: I get a way better quality, and I show my appreciation for the composer's work (well, at least this is exactly what happened to me with the Howard Shore's "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy:The Complete Recordings" :D).
I would understand more this outcry if the Album got posted in a Lossless format, but come on... it was lossy. Even an .mp3 encoded with best setting is SHIT compared to the counterpart it got originated from, quality-wise.

Now, about the fear of a missed release of a "Volume X"... hey hey hey! Have you read what you wrote? Don't you think that by now the albums' producers know that there's a 150% probability of their product being pirated? It's quite nonsense to think that they won't release a volume just because the first got pirated.

I apologize if I failed to express myself clearly, but my english is not so good.

Completely agree in theory, but that's you and me. Let me just make a few points - 1) I am anti-piracy when it affects musicians; as a composer I want to be recompensed for my effort. 2) I am not an asshole, and I don't work for the RIAA, and yes, I have downloaded music illegally, shared it, and continue to actively do so.

If a thousand people download something, and ten people like it enough to go and buy it, you can look at it in one of two ways:

a) 990 people stole my CD - I lose.
b) 10 people bought my CD who wouldn't have bought it before - I win.

I'm more likely to go along with a) as you could argue that the people who downloaded weren't going to buy it in the first place. If you never intended to buy something, and you stole it - you're wrong for stealing it, but you don't impact the producer's profit margin because you didn't intend to buy it in the first place and you never did. The only difference is that you heard the music as opposed to not hearing it.

Undoubtedly you can't win. Piracy will happen. Do you think La La Land put this thing out and thought "Aw, it got pirated - well that's it then, we won't put out the other fifty seven volumes!"

Or did they think "Ha, it got pirated - will you look at that? HEY, we sold out! Hurrah! We're all rich!"

They know piracy will occur. But I suspect that they probably don't care in the long run, as long as they shift their warehouse full of CDs.

Obviously it would be a different story if they pressed 1,000 CDs, sold six, and watched every other person on the planet enjoying a pirated copy of their hard work. But these things sell like absolute hotcakes - the Batman stuff is flying off the shelves, and in a couple of weeks it will be sold out - and people will start fighting over copies on eBay for �500 a go. You know it and I know it.

The FSM Blue Box was pirated before I even received my copy in the post, but they still sold out in a week, pressed a second edition to satisfy popular demand, and have nearly sold out of the second edition too. From their perspective, it was a good deal.

If you press 1000 CDs and you sell 1000 CDs, do you give a damn about the fact that it was copied fifty billion times? No, because you made 100% as much money from the project as you possibly could have done.

Anyway - I'm profusely SORRY for going off topic and I apologise if I've got anybody's back up with these comments.

I will say this - the album is absolutely magnificent, and you should all get yourselves over to La La Land or Screen Archives and buy it while you still can. :D

To react particularly on ileferru's post, I'll just say that in that case, I would be nice if the "downloadable preview" (or call it as you want) wasn't a full copy, but just some extracts. This way, that would give the downloaders the desire to buy the CD, knowing that it'll contain more material that the version they downloaded.

I know this case is far to be the only one, but I'm a very little downloader and this occurs to be the first case that concerns me, so I had to react... I'm very happy it generated this debate.

Catwalk was my first upload of this kind. I've made two other ones since, here they are:

- Various cues from BTAS (http://sharebee.com/19597ad4). They are audio rips of the videos posted on youtube (mentioned in the first post). When I made them they weren't all rehosted, so I only have 6 of the 9: Steven Chesne's cue from Blind as a Bat, Zatanna, Feat of Clay 2, The Laughing Fish, Fire from Olympus, and Robin's Reckoning 2.
I'll rip later the ones from Almost Got 'im, I am the Night and James Stemple's
"Unidentified" cue (in fact from Blind as a Bat)...

Please tell me if you consider useful that I upload the isolated segments of albums containing complete scores, like I did for Catwalk and Judgement Day. I do it for the fans who have a low rate of downloading and want the episodes one by one...
If it isn't useless, I'll continue with the rest of the albums I've started to do like this:
- In Brightest Day from the SBAA album
- Fish Story from the SBAA album
- Feat of Clay from the Batman Animated Adventures album
I don't plan to do the rest of these albums: everybody know where to find the Main & End Titles, and Gotham City Overture is part of the BTAS 2CD-set so I won't upload it until it's sold out.

I know you didn't say that to me, but anyway... I agree. If the thing is still available, we should be trying to encourage people to buy it - that's the rightful moral standpoint. It will sell out, but it hasn't yet and you have no excuse for not buying it if you want it. When it has sold out, perhaps then the offer of a full, good quality download, could be re-examined.

I hate samples because they never represent the whole. Conversely I have heard samples and passed up on what I would later discover to be a superb release.

I�m normally not that offended by pirated music of any kind, but batman animated is my personal holy grail since i saw the first episode about 16 years before. ever since only parts of mask of the phantasm were officially released and when you asked somebody for the rest you only got: "Forget it kid. Its too expensive" for an answer. And now it is like a quest to not let anybody harm those sales in any possible way, even if it is not an influence on them at all. But thats just me.

Sorry but my english has its limits and I'm not sure to understand subtilities like irony: are you angry that we gather the music released by the composers on the net, or do you reproach us for having forbidden the download for the commercially released CD claiming that it would hurt the sales?

If it's the first case, be reassured: if the next volumes contain episodes which music is on the net, the concerned links will of course be deleted.
I too consider BTAS as sacred, but since it's material unreleased commercially, where is the problem in collecting the few released on the net (besides, most of it was released by the composers themselves)? For me, it looks like a good way to get it; and you, aren't you interested by it? Do you snub them despite the fact there is no (not yet) other way to get it?
For example, if your favorite character is the ninja, none of his episodes are represented on the 2-cd set, but there is music from it on their composers (Mark Koval and Carlos Rodriguez) websites: what's wrong in getting it from there?

If it's the second case, YES it's our quest to preserve the edition of future volumes, so yes we forbid download links for the commercially released CDs because it does have an influence on the sales and consequently on the decision by the editor to make other volumes or not.

Sorry for the confusion (one of my two suppoitions is inevitably wrong)

Has anyone found any music from the "Bullet for Bullock" episode composed by Harvey Cohen? They're basically jazzy themes, but are really good.

Here are some samples (Main Title Theme is the best in my opinion):

IM24CTU, unfortunately there wasn't any music from The Batman released. The most I have is a personal rip from the movie (TB vs Dracula): main titles, end credits, and dvd menu music. The quality isn't very good but I may upload it if you're interested.

Badman, you're luckier: the WHOLE music from JLU has been ripped by KalEl1029 right here on this forum! It is high quality and there are the complete scores from all the 39 episodes (he even plans to do the same for the first series, Justice League)! Here is the link for his thread: Thread 59488

The complete score of this episode (and of many others) is available on the 2cd-set recently released by LaLaLand-Records. You can buy it with your eyes closed, it's highly worth the price and then you'll contribute to the demand, so that they release other volumes in the future...

I've heard the CD was now sold out, so I've just edited the first post to complete the list with a link for "Gotham City Overture" (http://sharebee.com/bd6146a3) (the characters themes), as in the "Animated Adventures" album (very lower quality than the track of the 2CD-set, but still better than nothing, so enjoy) from which they are tracks 1 to 10.
I also hosted the score from Feat of Clay II (http://sharebee.com/b168426b), still from this album (this score is not exactly the same as in the album "Promo Score"): tracks 16 to 22. (tracks 11 to 15 are Catwalk, already linked. There only miss track 23, that I'll host next time. While most television programs are produced season-by-season, the Batman Animated Series was produced as a mass chronology and broken into seasons later. That's why the production numbers are only two digits instead of three.

By the way, you guys may recall the BTAS "Lost Episode" that was isolated from the SEGA Batman game. It wasn't great, but it was a nice little goofy extra. It got me thinking: wouldn't it be cool to formulate lost episodes out of the other to BTAS-tie-in games, Vengeance and Rise of Sin Tzu? I don't have either game. I once had a pirated copy of Vengeance for PC, but the controls were way weird for me to figure out.

At any rate, how possible would it be to get a high-quality recording of the cutscenes spliced together with some basic gameplay footage to move the story along, for these two games?

(Speaking of, I think the soundtrack for Vengeance is posted on the Galbadia Hotel. You might want to edit that into the original post. It is very much a BTAS tie-in.)

There are actually two versions of the score from Batman: Vengeance (a great little game, actually, minus the idiotic camera settings and controls) online - one shorter, one longer... but the longer one has a damaged track (21 or 22, I think)...I wonder which version is on Galbadia. I was just listening through to it the other day and I didn't recall any damage. The Galbadia version has 32 tracks. Is that the long version or the short version. (And what's the difference between the two?)

EDIT: Listening back through tracks 20-23 to look for damage, I can't find anything overt. I mean, all the tracks on the album have abrupt cutoffs, so that's not much of an indicator. And they all seem to cut off in basically appropriate places, at the ends of musical ideas.

Raffomiles, thanks for the rar. I have a correction to bring, then: the track from episode 77 ISN'T "Castle Raid", it is another cue. As far as I know, in fact, this one doesn't have a title. But Castle Raid is another track (that is 2'07 long and may be released some day), not this one...
For the cues from the 150m site, are they the originals or rips you've made from the youtube videos?

I'll reupload Subzero when I have time, but if you're not patient enough you can ask for it on the "big hunt" thread, there are regularly reuploads there and I know many people who have this score.
On the other hand, I don't plan to reupload Mask of the Phantasm in the near future: an album has recently be released (http://lalalandrecords.com/BatManMOTP.html) and can still be purchased: buy it! But on the page I just linked you can download 4 extracts...

For Carlos Rodriguez's cue, I don't remember how to access the direct links, but I know it can be done. If someone knows how to get musics from MySpace's players, let it know...
In the wait, someone is already downloadable thanks to Raffomiles who posted right here in this topic recently: his rar (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PBLNDQAN) contains the one from "I've got Batman in my basement". It also contains one of the cues from "Lion & Unicorn", the two versions of "Batman gives up the cape", and others...
And the score of "Day of the Samurai" is featured in the BTAS Promo Score.
If nobody gets the direct links from MySpace, I may make a rar that would gather the 4 other tracks (the complete scores of "The Clock King", "Robin's Reckoning 1" and "If you're so smart so why aren't you rich", plus the "Avatar" exclusive cue).

The music by Peter Tomashek has already be gotten by some people, but I didn't have news from them recently. I too am waiting for this, but in the waiting we still have the two extracts, which by the way also figure in the rar mentioned just before.

I got some clarification on the question of La La Land continuing to release BTAS music: apparently, Warners plans to do them in-house, as downloadables. La La won't be able to continue releasing, and Warners will probably do them strictly mp3, but it does look as though we might get the entire series.

they should just release the rest of the series on cd. its been years already. idk why studios/companies crack down on us for upping and dloading when they either dont release or take too long to release their stuff & when it is released, usually somethings missing (Batman Begins cd missing the cue where Bruce goes down the ladder, opens the closet and sees his mask & suit. Its after Rachael gives him his bday present. From Batman TAS cd, Feat Of Clay, Demon's Quest & Avatar missing). Not complaing. Just trying to make a point. Theres nothing anyone can really do from our end other than demand & upload/dload fan made rips.

Just kinda sucks, you know? If the missing stuff is released, its on a separate album like another 10-15yrs later lol. just a way 4 them 2 make $ obviosuly, which i know ppl need to survive, but dont need to go to these lengths really lol.

Unfortunately Lalaland can't release new WB stuff, like other Batman Tas albums. Only Watertower records can and for now they don't want to. Fortunately Lalaland can release expanded versions of already published OST: that's why we have the great expanded Batman (1989) and Mask Of The Phantasm and soon we'll have also Batman Returns! About Feat Of Clay, Demon's Quest & Avatar you can easily find in this thread what it's leaked out some years ago.

how do you know about Batman Returns? I agree with you considering an expanded 1989 was released. Just a matter of when. Hopefully you has EVERY single cue heard in the film.

Y cant Lalaland release new stuff? Watertower doesnt want to? shows how bright they r lol.

But Batman Begins need an expanded version too. There's a bootleg version of it, but it's missing some cues. A proper/official expanded version needs to be released featurinf all the cues heard in the film. Most esp. the cue where Bruce opens his closet & sees his costume (this cue is heard in the film after Bruce gets his bday present, tells Alfred "Tell em that joke you know", plays piano combination, & goes down the ladder). This cue is on here in a fanmade version of the Complete Batman Begins film. Thoug hit has some sound fx, it's good enough 4 now. idk but i feel if it's released (hopefuly it will be) it'll be out late this year or sometime next year to keep ppl & get new ppl interested in or to promote to 3rd (and final) Christopher Nolan Batman film.

Also, is it possible for u 2 post the music 2 Demon's Quest Part 1 (where Robin is shot before the Title Card is shown. Please edit out SFX for this) & Part 2 (highlights from Part 1 & the first scene of Part 2, where they fight Ra's before he's slapped byTalia) & the ending music to Avatar (where Ra's is back to normal, Batman dismounts from the horse & Talia cuts the ropes off Ra's hand, Ra's says "Another time Detective" & Batman says "Yes. Another time", picks up the gallon of water that Ubu threw him & walks away. Please edit SFX & if you can, dialogue as well to this)

anyone know what to do? every time i download something, the download hangs & never completes itself (typically 86% or 87%). i just got the new Firefox 3.6.10. this happens with Google Chrome too.

the main Firefox website doesn't have much info on this either.

Things were working fine before this piece of crap Firefox version came out.

2. End tune to Time Out Of Joint - heard while the screen shows a big clock (before End Credits hit)

3. End tune to one of my favorite & most underrated episodes IMO, See No Evil - heard as Kimberly's mother says "I know. I know." & closes the window & Batman turns, walks off & the screen shows a yellow moon. (before End Credits hit)

4. Batman TAS Extended main theme - heard during the Batman Promo/Pilot Episode short, The Dark Knight's First Night - the pilot is seen on the Batman TAS dvd set but without different bgm so the DVD version isn't what I'm talking about.

u should just take the 320 for now. its the best u can get right now. for an OOP cd, dont think you'll see lossless for sometime. better to get 320 before link dies & you have nothing. if i were you, i'd get the 320 & get a FLAC later on if its posted.

of course, u could always try torrents.

I wonder which version is on Galbadia. I was just listening through to it the other day and I didn't recall any damage. The Galbadia version has 32 tracks. Is that the long version or the short version. (And what's the difference between the two?)

EDIT: Listening back through tracks 20-23 to look for damage, I can't find anything overt. I mean, all the tracks on the album have abrupt cutoffs, so that's not much of an indicator. And they all seem to cut off in basically appropriate places, at the ends of musical ideas.

Probably a game rip. I don't think my version has any abropt cut offs, but the Joker's voice is briefly in two cues.

I've made also a dvd-rip (with SFX) of Batman Mystery of the Batwoman, not very good in result nor in the music itself IMHO (except the theme and Betcha Neva!), but I'll post anyway if someone is interested

It has music from both, like I said earlier, it has music from the Gotham Knights episode "Judgment Day", which definitely is Batman and not Superman ;)

Gotham Knights together with Superman TAS were also called "The New Batman & Superman Adventures" as a sort of collective term.

There's such a thing as repecting the wishes of a composer. They give you something and put their trust in you and ask not to make copies, well -- you don't make copies. In in some instances, I can't even say I have certain things.

While working on Vol 2 a number of episodes of the first "65" got the axe and will be featured on Vol 3: Robin's Reckoning Parts 1 and 2, Day of the Samurai and The Clock King to name a few.

Our plan is to have Vol 3 out next year (possibly another 4 disc set). That would be all the music we would release from the first 65. We are also contemplating releasing an empty box when vol 3 comes out so people can put all 3 volumes inside. It would be like $5 (or around there) if people wanted to buy it separately or free with purchase of Vol 3...something like that.

Then we would focus on the "Adventures of Batman and Robin" and "The New Batman Adventures."

Hopefully, Superman TAS, Justice League (TAS and Unlimited) and the two BTAS animated direct to DVD movies (Subzero and Batwoman) will also see the light of day in the next few years.

This is some of the finest music written for television. It's been a joy and honor to bring these out and we hope to continue to mine this incredible slate of superhero music.

We are also looking into stuff like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons. The ealry 90's was truly the 2nd Golden Age of Animation at Warners Bros. We are doing our part to preserve that legacy.

My thoughts? First off, great news. Looking forward to The Phantom, X2 and Batman TAS Vol.2! Cannot wait. I will be purchasing all of these to support them in hopes of expanded scores to other films such as T2, BTTF part 2, the first TMNT movie and those are all I could think of for now. But I will have more to name later. And not to mention complete scores to TV shows such as Spiderman 90s TAS, X-Men 90s TAS, TMNT 1987, and yeah, MMPR too as well as many, many others.

Some episodes I was hoping for in BTAS was indeed axed. But I hope Vol.3 will have them. My wish though is eventually the entire series will be released in music form. Vol.2 does have episodes I love. But it is missing Avatar and the underrated See No Evil among others. I do hope for a complete JL/JLU release as well as The New Adventures of B&R (the opening and end credits are awesome), and Superman TAS.

I pray someday my wishes come true.

As for X2, I hope the cue in the beginning of the film where Nightcrawler attacks the Whitehouse is included. And I believe it will. On the bootleg complete score, it was titled "Whitehouse Attack" I'm sure it will be. These expanded releases usually have everything as well as alternate tracks.

These are some great news for all DCAU music fans out there. I certainly hope they can put together the music of all five seasons of the Justice League, some of them are just fantastic.
And I also hope in a near future they won't forget Young Justice as well.

It's classical music (Mozart's Dies Irae) you can easily find elsewhere in great quality, so it doesn't really need to be included in a "John Ottman" album, no ?

For the new CD, I only regret the absence of The Forgotten, anyway this is a really good selection. My friends and I are particularly excited for The Demon's Quest, Pt. 2, which contains some of our favorites themes. And the announce of vol.3 with Robin's Reckoning, Pt. 2 is simply awesome ; some years ago I tried to rip from DVD but it still had the SFX.
Of course, there are some material that we already had by other ways (Riddler's Origin episode, Feat of Clay 2...), and I had managed to do something with Heart of Ice (like KalEl with It's Never Too Late but not all the episode, just the wonderful intro theme and some action scenes), but have it on CD is priceless. The announce of Justice League behind is just amazing.

Thanks to the DVD and our various sources, I'm remaking the judicious gallery featured by the anbat site some years ago: the title cards collections of BTAS.
Some of them are longer because I included character themes (Two-Face, Heart of Ice, Mad as a Hatter, Tyger Tyger, The Mechanic...), some are shorter because the original rip featured additional music independent of the intro and that is now available on CD, but all are in higher quality. For the episodes for which I had no choice, I ripped from the DVDs so there are unfortunately still some SFX, but I did my best.

The new Batman Adventures is also known as Batman: Gotham Knights (much cooler name IMO), which is also how you can find it Tv.com. (I think it's Track 20 of the whole collection, but it's definitely 5th track of that episode's eight tracks)
