Beginning with the comic Neg mentioned above, it was discovered that the claws were a natural part of Wolvie. Prior to that, Magneto violently ripped the adamantium from his body, and he still had claws after his recovery - made of bone, part of his skeletal structure.

One set of them even got broken after that. I mean the claws on one of his hands, not like they all broke and then grew back.

In my talks with Mandi about it, it seems that some people really vehemently dislike the concept of bone claws, but they are just my favorite thing ever in any comic. I know I haven't read many comics (mainly just X-Men and Wolverine, actually), but still.

If you can find a torrent for Wolvy #75 I say check it out. I've got my hard copy somewhere around here, hologram sticker and all. I know there's issues of retcons, etc. with boneclaws and I'm sure this movie, but I'm like super excited now. I was excited before (Jackman <333) but this makes it ULTIMATE, for me.

The costumes aren't really spandex, they're Reed Richard's un-stabilized molecule suits that adjust to whomever wears them specifically. Cyclops could put on Colossus' suit and it'd change accordingly. Spandex form fits - because it's fucking tight, but it's certainly nothing advanced.

Wolverine was probably my least favourite part of the X-movies but I think this'll be good. However I heard the studio has asked them to re-shoot some shit in order to make it more kid-friendly. Before they were going for a darker tone (an unprecedented move for a sequel to be sure!).

i don't like xmen 3 because it sucked balls. phoenix wasn't even really phoenix. there was no fire. and for a being that was stated in the movie that she was uncontrollable and did whatever she wanted, she certainly stood and looked around a lot. not to mention that there are gross errors in the universe, like having juggernaught be a mutant when, iirc, he got his powers from a crystal.

the fact that wolverine killed phoenix has nothing to do with it. jean/phoenix gets killed a couple times in the comics, sometimes by wolverine, and almost all the time (as i have not read them all), including the movie, it is because jean let them kill her in order to stop the rampage of the phoenix, so technically, wolverine (referring to your specific example) kills jean, not phoenix (but that's irrelevant anyway cause it wasn't really the phoenix)

Also, I just got done watching the movie (and no, I'm no longer drunk) and I must say it is pretty good. They re-used some of the music from the Transformers movie (but because the movie is a "rough cut" and is used as a preview of the final product, I'm 100% sure the music will NOT be in the final product). There are some special effects without textures, but it's in only a few scenes.

I'd definitely pay to see the movie in theaters. I really liked it.

The nice thing about the X-Men movies is that, unlike most films based on a book or comic, they do not, upon completion, cause the source material to burst into flames and disintegrate. This allows the comic book storyline and adapted movie storyline to exist side by side and not fuck with each other. It's awesome.

I mean, dude. There's a reason why they say it's an adaptation. Do you really think they would be able to make a good movie if they stuffed everything that happened in the entire X-Men comic continuity into it? Things are altered to fit a new and different continuity. In the meantime you will always have the "canonical" comics.

If you want to see it when it's completely done, wait until it's out in theaters. If you don't mind some CGI without textures in some scenes (or seeing the cables on the actors in others or some of the music from Transformers), then you should find this movie rather enjoyable.

Also, the quality of it isn't like it would be if recorded in theaters with a camcorder; it's pretty much like a dvd rip.

i watched this last night and thought it was awful. i like wolverine but the main reason i was looking forward to this movie was to see deadpool, and he was shit for the five minutes he's in it
