Ok which CN do you like the best past or present?

For me its definitely the past, because the cartoons like Looney Tunes,Tom and Jerry,Flintstones, and other classic cartoons that used to air back in the day is not retarted or stupid like these garbage they put up today.

There is some that are decent but over 90% is just plain out stupid and too embarrassing to even watch alone.

Well i put out my thoughts and feel free to comment about your opinion.

Adult Swim, mang. Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Though I haven't seen any of the last season. I need to buy the DVD, but I'm prepared to be underwhelmed.

It shows really dumb and stupid shows like Chowder(God i cant even watch a minute of it), Total Drama Island(A totally stupid and pointless cartoon that make little kids go dumb), The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack(WTF is this $***?!?!??),and theres more stupid and retarted shows but thoese are the ones that i see on my satellite menu, and im dreading any new cartoon garbage they they will put out in the future.

Only thing that i will watch from cartoon network is any show from adult swim, thats the only good thing that keeps cartoon network alive by the older crowd.

I actually miss both the older Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. The only show I'll watch on that channel now is Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Now, there's no reason why I should stay up late to watch Adult Swim anymore :(...

That is so easy i could laugh at the question. We all know that the older CN owned the CN of today. They don't even have Toonami anymore, and replace it with a bunch of hand me downs from WB Kids and Fox. That just proves my point.

Does it have it's gems? Of course, but it still doesn't stack up to the old one. And Adult Swim is no different. You're talking about the TV line up that has garbage of the likes of the Time and Eric Awesome Show and great shows don't last more than a season. The whole network has gone down hill all the way.

I don't watch CN, but the cartoons of the past are much better in general.

Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, Tale Spin, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, and even the 90's era Turtles (with the awesome theme song, rather than today's garbage), were all top-notch.

True that i've seen some cartons from Kids WB like Jhonny Test and more. And yea it sucks that Toonami is gone, i used to watched that all the time back in the day.

Soon Cartoon Network will be off the air for good if these garbage they keep putting on continues.

All three of the main cartoon channels, Cartoon Network, Disney, and Nickelodeon, have lost a lot over their years trying to go for the 'larger market' and and do 'teen drama shows' in hopes for a huge audience.

Sad thing is that most are eating it up. Either way, unless we see a creator really fight for it, we won't see great shows like Batman: TAS, Gargoyles, Samurai Jack, Danny Phantom, Avatar, or Kim Possible ever again.

Lucky for me I live in the UK, where they still show loads of the old cartoons on CN. All the live-action 'comedy' the kids channels show nowadays are so bad I can't even stomach them. Give me the old CN and Nickelodeon any day.

For the record, my fave was and still is Ed, Edd n' Eddy.

Hands down, older CN was the best. There was nothing like coming home from school and getting ready to watch Toonami. Hell, even if it WASN'T on Toonami, the shows were still entertaining to look at. The characters and their situations were memorable enough to where you'd remember them and reminisce on the nostalgia. :)

BUT NOWADAYS you can just put up any vomited shit on television and kids will watch it. As long as the characters are screaming and making fart jokes, you've got yourself a fucking Oscar here.

I have a nephew (4 years old) and he watches this terrible shit (depends on how you define 'watch'). To me, it's just shit kids can scream and yell together with. PLEASE explain how the hell Chowder is funny? As far as I'm concerned, that show promotes child obesity.

It's sad that the stations we grew up with (CN, Nick, Disney) are just plummeting down to all this TWEEN shit where third grade girls scream over High School Musical without knowing what quality entertainment is.

You win points for that. I remember sitting outside the movies when HSM was in and you could hear the giggling of teenage girls marching there like zombies coming from miles away. I course it was the same for every Saw movie only it was more to the effect of every pot smoking teenage male walking into the movies and the giggling was more so like Beavis & Butthead style laughter.

Just goes to prove the point that people simply don't care they are consuming crap in the way of movies and TV.

1992-2004= the best years of cartoon network. for those of you who want the OLD cartoon network that shows looney toons pink panther and all that should check out boomerang.

as for the current CN, the only things worth watching for me is the boondocks (which seasons take forever to produce; damn CP time), and robot chicken.

the rest of those shows can't keep my interest for two seconds.

Hell, you think that's bad, I WORK AT THE MOVIE THEATERS. Lord knows how many times I've had to sit and wait for kids to stop dancing and screaming in front of the auditorium. I actually remember one unlucky parent who had to talk to talk to some of the girls and listen to their fangirl-ism. One of the girls (who was the biggest of them all and had the nerve to wear a plastic crown on her head) blurted out "Well, I've seen ALL of them" like she just got finished reading a thick, giant Harry Potter book. It's even worse when high school kids (who should know better) sit down, squeal, and enjoy it.

But yeah, I agree with you and how people don't care for the mediocre junk they watch. :)

Cartoon Network ditching all-'toon format

* By Tim Surette
* 03/25/09 4:06 PM

Cable station no longer living up to its name, will get in to live-action reality shows, scripted programs.
Ben 10 going live action!

First MTV stops showing music videos, now this? Cartoon Network is sticking with the "Network" portion of its name, but ditching the strictly "Cartoon" bit, the company announced today. Nineteen new projects were announced, and less than half will be hand-drawn.

"These exciting new projects represent the next phase in Cartoon Network's ambitious, ongoing strategy to re-invent the network and re-energize our youth business overall," said Stuart Snyder.

These new non-cartoons will start airing in the coming 2009-2010 season and feature reality and scripted programs, most of which sound like pint-sized versions of programs currently airing on other networks.

Highlights: The Othersiders is a mini-Ghost Hunters, with five friends exploring scary places; Destroy Build Destroy is like Human Wrecking Balls, with two teams blowing stuff up; Dude, What Would Happen is a Mythbusters clone; Bobb'e Says takes the ridiculously funny child actor Bobb'e J. Thompson (Human Giant, Role Models) in his own take of America's Funniest Home Videos.

Also announced was a live-action Ben 10: Alien Force movie, a Scooby-Doo! prequel telefilm, and a full CG movie titled Firebreather!

Don't worry all you glassy-eyed college students--it doesn't look like the late-night Adult Swim block will be affected by any of this.

What next, the channel is called "The Network"?
