Hello, friends.

After several years of perusing these wonderful forums for my VGM fix, I decided I needed to share some albums myself. Especially symphonic arranges, which I absolutely adore. This one is from the soundtrack of a little-known doujin (fan-made) Japanese game called Hana Ki Sou (http://haccaworks.net/new/index2.htm)...but you don't have to play the game to appreciate the music, which is composed by Vagrancy and performed by the Moscow International Symphony Orchestra. Give it a try!

Title: Hana Ki Sou Symphonic Orchestra
Artist: Shikata Akiko of Vagrancy (http://www.vagrancy.jp/top.html)
Performer: Moscow International Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Konstantin.D.Krimets
Release: March 30, 2007
Bitrate: 320 kbps
Download: Sharebee (http://sharebee.com/a4c4e417) Mediafire (http://www.mediafire.com/?ujtw2mzdnth)

Tracklist
1. Nevicata
2. 救世主-花白- / Kyuuseishu - Hanashiro -
3. 邂逅~白く降り続くもの / Kaikou ? Shiroku Furitsuduku Mono
4. 白梟のテーマ / Shiro Fukurou no Theme
5. 街の息吹~市場の風景 / Gai no Ibuki~Shijou no Fuukei

12. 銀朱のテーマ / Ginshu no Theme

14. 花帰葬 / Hanakisou

Seeing the positive response ^_^ I decided to upload all the rest of the soundtracks from the game. There are three - the original director's cut, which contains some of the songs from the PC version, then a full OST that was released later (again for the PC version), and finally the complete PS2 and Plus Disc soundtrack, which should pretty much have all the tracks from the first two albums plus more. So I suggest you download that one!

Ohh, YES - this is the stuff! Thank you - I'd never even heard of this; I can't believe it slipped under my radar.

Who in the world is this Vagrancy fellow?

And thank you as well, for the unusually detailed credits - it's so nice to see a music post that doesn't just say "Here's the music from some game, enjoy!" - and if you want to know who wrote it, or who performed it, you're on your own.

Konstantin D Kremits is a very well respected conductor in the classical arena - and anybody who's heard the Morgan / Stromberg Golden Age reconstructions, or the scores from Fafner and Fullmetal Alchemist, will know that the Moscow International Symphony is a superb orchestra. This is a very fine album!

:D

*grin* I tend to pick up obscure albums in my roamings, and once in awhile, I hit something really great. Glad you like it!

Vagrancy (http://www.vagrancy.jp/top.html) is actually a Japanese doujin music group founded by Akiko Shikata (http://shikata-akiko.com/), who has done extensive work (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akiko_Shikata) in video game arranges for such prominent titles as Shadow Hearts and Ar tonelico 2. I've got a couple more of her albums, including the complete soundtrack for Hana Ki Sou, if people are interested ^_^.

Haha, I agree! It's all thanks to VGMDB (http://vgmdb.net/album/6637). I had no idea Konstantin was that famous! And the Moscow Int. Symphony did the score for FMA? I'm going to have to hunt those down XD Thanks for the recs~

You can *never EVER EVER* go wrong with Michiru Oshima - the mere mention of her name guarantees quality. Her scores for FMA (particularly the movie) are absolutely breathtaking - she's a skilled melodist, a superlative orchestrator, and a sensitive, thought-provoking composer - and I say that as somebody who is never entirely pleased. ;)

Many thanks again!

You're preaching to the converted, my friend - but thank you anyway! :)

I've become something of an Oshima obsessive in the last couple of years. I discovered her through her Godzilla scores, and went from there.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2 is in preparation next year - I hope to bloody hell they don't sign up another composer; they need Oshima, and they need her to record it in Moscow. If good sense prevails (oddly enough, it usually does in Japan) we're guaranteed one of the year's very best scores right off the mark. Or, they might try to save money and hire "Some Dude And His Bontempi Keyboard" --- perish the thought...

I'm currently waiting desperately for a release of Oshima's newest Anime score, Bounen No Xamdou (Xam'd - Lost Memories) - nothing has been announced yet, despite the anime starting in September. It's a superb, absolutely gorgeous piece of work - elegant, beautiful, moving...

Anyway - I apologise, I'm dragging this off topic, as I usually do...

I've heard of this game and the name made an impression on me but I never did find the game to play. The score is beautiful and the orchestra's performance is excellent. Great share. Now I really want to play the game and check out the other works by her.

*grin* Glad to see the positive response! I posted all the other soundtracks for the game, which include the PC Director's Cut, the PC Full OST, and the PS2 + Plus Disc (that I believe has most if not all the tracks from the first two albums). So if you like the symphonic arrange, you should definitely check that out ^^.

laguu1: Wow, another Japanese ADV fan? So hard to find these days XD I have the PC version of the game, sent you a PM about it. I asked my friend with the PS2 version to upload it for me too...I believe the main difference is that the PS2 one has voice acting.

I just finished this game the other day, and thank you so much for sharing these amazing soundtracks!

I have the MP3 320 version of the Hana Ki Sou Full Soundtrack that I would like to share (no scans, though): MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/?14dio33iocc1g)

Also, is it all right if you could reupload the 320 version for Hana Ki Sou PS2 + PD Soundtrack? I would really appreciate it if you can!
