Thanks for the symphonic suite. To be honest I have no idea what "Giant Robot" is but whenever I see words "symphonic" and "suite" together, I can't stop myself;). Thanks dude:). And yes, it's awesome music... second track is very... Mozartish;).

To be honest I have no idea what "Giant Robot" is

Giant Robo is one of my favourite anime shows from the 90's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Robo_(OVA)

You can buy it here

There was also a new version realeased last year, but i've not seen that one yet.

THANK YOU! :D

The original seven OST albums are hard enough to find, let alone these two! I didn't even know there *was* a soundtrack album for the GinRei (hmm... droool... nosebleed...) series but I can't tell you how pleased I am to have it. The special was a really cheapo exercise - and largely the plot was nothing more than an excuse to see GinRei in varying stages of nakedness; not that I object to this in the slightest!

Nevertheless, it's so wonderful to have more Giant Robo music - and Amano's more cheerful, tongue-in-cheek score for the GinRei special is a nice compliment to the seriousness of the main scores.

Still, it's a great pity that they didn't see to including that lovely little cheeky march version of the Giant Robo theme that played during the end credits... Still, can't have everything... :)

Thanks again!

I think this is interesting as a reconceptualization of Amano's exceptional scores for "Giant Robo" into a concert work. Frankly, it's something I wish a lot more film composers would do... This requires far more effort than just throwing all the cues onto a disc in chronological order and calling it a definitive presentation of the music.

I find the "symphonic suite" album of the first episode's score to be an enjoyable and satisfying listen.
