Does anyone know when this title will be released in US or Aus? Or any information on it all.

As a huge fan of Tobal No. 1 and Ergheiz, I am really looking forward to this and would like to know your opinions or any official features that you may know of in regards to this title.

Will it be a flop? Or will it outshine other fighters on the PSP, the same way Crisis Core overshadowed the other sub-par RPGs available on this superb handheld?

It looks ok. Seems to have included some big characters from the series. But it does look a bit like a PSP version of Ehrgeiz. Which in all honesty, isn't that great. But as for it being a flop? I think it will do well, simply because it has Final Fantasy slapped on the box. But we will see.

It looks more repetitive than every other fighting game out there. I only watched the video with Tidus and Jecht. But, I find fighting games repetitive and useless anyway (Soul Calibur) is a great game, although they could use without the Star Wars characters in IV though), and this seems worse...

I will not buy it, but I can only assume it will do well, considering the title. FINAL FANTASY!

The Kefka in the SE site video looks like a Joker ripoff, MUCH more than usual.
The gameplay looks good, I had my doubts when I first heard about it. The "steal your opponents stamina hiting him with O" just sounds very weird, won't know for sure until we try it.

Seriously, I don't see how "Jeckt" is the main bad for FF10, unless they explain that they pulled him during a specific time frame, or some other kind of shit.

Nomura said he picked Jecht because he has strong ties to Tidus, where as Seymour had stronger ties to Yuna. He picked Tidus and Jecht over the latter set because their character types felt more appropriate for an action game.

Also, I am hoping that we will see Basch/Gabranth as secret characters, although I don't hold that much hope. I probably won't end up playing this anyway, so meh.

Because I don't think anyone has actually said this yet, I guess I will.

Dissidia will be coming to the US towards the end of spring or beginning of fall of 2009. They have heroes from all the FF games (yes, starting from the first) all the way up to FFX along with either the final boss or the main characters ultimate enemy. For example, Squall from FFVIII is in it along with Sorceress Ultimecia and Cloud and Sephiroth (because someone said Cloud wasn't in it and obviously didn't look it up themself).

I was going to get it when it was released in Japan, but decided to wait just to see if it was coming out in the US. As far as an EUR release, still no word on that.

Am I super late on this topic, hell yes, but Gilgamesh is in the game. He's a summon. Using Gilgamesh results in the casting of Excalibur or Excalipoor/pur.

Excalibur triples your brave, and Excalipur drops it to 1.

I've only heard small things about this game... mainly due to the fact that where i'm living can't get to a newsagent on a regular basis to get any gaming magazines, and i've been too lazy to look online about it.

He's clearly visible in all of the videos I've seen on youtube including the games opening video.

If you look up the game on wikipedia, it has a list of the characters (both heroes and villians) including the unlockable characters and the voice actors of each (the Japanese ones). Because the last time I was on there was before the game came out in Japan, I don't know what other updates they have on the game.

I don't know why I'm, but I'm not too excited for this game. It looks cool but I guess I have to play it in order to have a firm impression. I will be buying it thought.

Sorry to burst all the fanboys but in this game Cloud is the worst character in the game because his moves are so predictable and easy to block and evade. Sephiroth is much better but he is not that far from Cloud. There are two type of attack in this game brave (the number on top of the hp bar) and hp. Squall, my opinion is a good character, he have really crazy combo attacks and can bring down his opponent brave point to breaking point any time, but his main problem is that it is very difficult to pull off HP attacks.
There are good news, Tidus is considered one of the best character in the game because he is very quick and his brave attack can chains into hp attacks (same could go for Zidane). Almost all of the mages in this game are good sometime really cheap.

Awesome I'm not alone then. What's your status thus far? I have all characters leveled to 100 in my save. Almost completed Inward Chaos. Still working on obtaining Chaos Reports.

Squall is definitely powerful when mastered. Sure his hp attacks are easy to dodge, but he just rapes brave points. Whole lot more effective to just rake in brave points with Squall and focus on landing an HP attack when you know it'll hit

And you made a typo with Judge Gabranth's title. He's the Ex Gauge Master. People seem to keep misreading that. Like Squall and his Upper Bruise attack.

So my cousin was nice enough to lend me his import. I played but wasn't too impressed. One huge turn off for me is the arenas you fight in. The gameplay seems that it'll become stale pretty quickly. I think I might just have to play it some more. The character models look great

Oh man o' man, I can hardly wait for this game when it releases. I really don't spend too much time with my psp. FF: Crisis Core is the first ever game that made me spend hours playing.

After I beat it, I now spend time with my DS. I think they carry more FF games for the DS than on PSP, no?

Game is fun, but unless the US version comes out during a dry spell, IDK...

I mean, GGXX:AC+ just game out and that'll take me some time.
Also given the return of SMT-DS to the PS2, that'll also take some time away from my PSP.

But who knows, with some download able content (Prinny: CIRBTH is getting some) I could see this as a mainstay on my PSP.

if you REALLY want to look at it go the Dissidiawikia and you can really see how good the game is, I bought the jap version when it first came out and I haven't out it down. IF any one likes fighting games and enjoys Final Fantasy it really is a good game, the story combine in a nice twist, if you know the stories of any of the other games.

I'm looking forward to this game and being able to see my favourite Final Fantasy characters fighting each other. It appears that Square-Enix can make games other than RPGs! :-P

I kind of dig it. I haven't beaten all the stories yet (not for the characters, but the red ones). So I'm interested in how things turn out. I stayed away from the red story (can't think of what it's called right now) because I thought it was just from the enemies point of view. I was wrong. But I like games where I want to see how it ends. I do admit the gameplay is repetative, but I still enjoy it.

And yes, the past references to the past games is pretty cool. I wish there was more to it though.

So I learned just now that if you hold the jump button when Sephiroth is in EX Mode, he can glide around.

My cousin (the same one who tried to loan my Kingdom Hearts, which I responded to by snapping the disc in half in front of him) showed me Dissidia the other day.

I don't know why, probably because I'm more cynical than he is, I honestly can't see what all the fuss is about. A FF fighting game, oohhh... ahhhh... quick, I need to change my underwear from the excess excitement I've deposited in them.

It just looks fascinationg and appealing in trailers and in youtube videos. However, it also seems that if you play this game for long, you end up getting bored. A few of my friends have it and they say that its good....but its nothing SPECIAL.

It is nothing special. But it's a game that will actually make you play your PSP for a while. Kinda like what Pokemon did for the gameboy. I played the shit out of dissidia yesterday (it was my bonus day) and got Squall to level 100.

Good game, not great but good. Battle system is okay but battles either last 10 seconds or too long. Also battles can get repetitive with the lack of abilities. Nice to play a Zidane but still not enough characters considering the huge universe of the series.

I agree with the lack of characters and abilities... It's almost as if Square's setting us up for some DLC, squeeze a little more money out of us.

Only Squall is level 100 for me. My second highest character is Cloud at level 21.

I just purchased Dissidia last friday, and still trying to get a hang of the dynamics of it per se. I have to agree with whomever it was who posted about the repetitiveness of the battles, but then again all fighting games suffer from that. Been playing as Squall (level 8) and up against Kuja.... gods I hate that effeminate pansy.

I still haven't formed a opinion about the game, as I haven't played that much of it yet. The story does seem more like a piece of fanfiction though (Just like Warriors Orochi/Warriors Orochi II), but that's just my opinion. I'll probably have a better opinion of it, the more I play though.
